After the five members of Penguin Logistics finished loading and sorting cargo, they prepared to start deliveries.
Before they left, Croissant suddenly asked Su Yi, "Have you decided who you want as your permanent partner?"
"I'm dead last on performance—what right do I have to choose?" Su Yi said. "Whoever the boss pairs me with, that's who I'll work with.
"But I still hope that before the boss comes back, I can stand on my own two feet and stop dragging you all down."
"From a capability standpoint, you already can," Exusiai said. "It's just that your constitution is… special. You're like that streamer called U-chan—always running into one incident after another."
"Let's talk about it after the boss returns…" Su Yi said. "Oh, right—when we were sorting earlier, I noticed patrol cars are way more frequent today. Be careful. Try not to get into any conflicts."
Penguin Logistics might be a delivery company on paper, but in terms of what it actually did—and who worked there—it was closer to a traditional Yan escort agency.

"Woohoo! Texas, speed up—shake them off… speed up, shake them off! Why did you stop?!" Exusiai demanded, baffled.
Texas tapped the brakes and brought the car to a slow stop. She casually took a Pocky stick from the snack box and bit it between her lips.
"Look."
Exusiai pulled back into the car and stared ahead.
Five police cars had sealed the road completely.
After a fruitless all-night patrol, the furious "tiger demon" was staring them down.
And behind them, another five police cars blocked the road from the rear—forming a perfect two-sided clamp, trapping both Penguin Logistics and the gang tailing them.
"Isn't that Inspector Swire and Big Sis Hoshiguma?" Exusiai called out, setting her gun down. "Long time no see. Missed you terribly. Why are you starting work so early today?"
She got out, placed both hands on the hood, and waited for them to cuff her—more familiar with the routine than some rookie officers.
Walk by the river long enough, you're bound to get your shoes wet.
She was already preparing to call Croissant and Sora to come bail them out.
Swire approached with a black expression and a vicious grin. "What a rare treat. We caught Penguin Logistics for the full set. Looks like my luck is pretty good today."
"Croissant and Sora got caught too?!" Exusiai blurted.
Even Texas couldn't keep her composure at that.
"They were less lucky," Hoshiguma said kindly. "Their vehicle broke down halfway through. Go ahead and call your boss or Yith to bail you out."
Penguin Logistics and the LGD were old rivals. The LGD knew their staffing structure inside and out—could guess who would show up to bail them out with their eyes closed.
"But our boss went to Siesta with Yith," Exusiai said.
"Then congratulations," Swire said brightly. "Enjoy a lovely fifteen days in detention. And don't even think about escaping—I'll put the four of you in separate rooms."
They hadn't caught the criminal syndicate, but tossing the entirety of Penguin Logistics' staff into detention at least made the night feel less wasted.
"No," Texas said. "You still haven't caught one person."

Su Yi was singing to himself as he delivered packages when a call came in.

He hung up with a splitting headache.
So his "analysis" had actually been right: the LGD really had mobilized and increased patrols.
It wasn't targeting Penguin Logistics specifically—Texas and the others were just unlucky enough to run into it.
