He stared hard at the figure until the man turned slightly.
His shoulders slumped in relief when he saw that was not Mason. Just some stranger who looked crazily a lot like him.
He sighed and still didn't make eye contact with Jett from across the table.
"Jamie."
"What?" He replied.
"Look at me."
Jamie didn't. He kept staring at the crowd like danger was hiding inside it.
Jett's voice dropped.
"Did I do something?"
That finally made Jamie look at him.
And what he saw there almost hurt more than the fear.
Confusion, hurt and insecurity.
Jett feeling insecure wasn't something he'd ever think would be possible, especially if it was because of him.
"You didn't," Jamie said softly.
"Then what is it?"
Jamie hesitated.
"Can we just go home?" he blurted.
".....What?"
"Please." Jamie pleaded.
"No explanation?"
"I just don't feel good."
"Is it me?"
Jamie's eyes widened. "What? No!"
"Because it feels like it's me."
"It's not you!" He exclaimed.
