Battler chapter 52

Battler: - Kingdom Of Battlers

Battler Season 3

Morning came to Battle Kingdom without warmth.

The sun rose, but the pressure in the air remained—heavy, watchful, unforgiving.

Kenji stood in the center of a wide stone courtyard. Ancient runes were carved beneath his feet, faintly glowing with karma-reactive light. Around him, several tiers of observation platforms rose like an arena. Royal Battlers. High-rank officials. Strategists. Veterans.

This wasn't a welcome.

It was a test.

"This is excessive," Ryo muttered, fists clenched.

"They're treating us like suspects."

"They are," Aiko replied calmly. "In Battle Kingdom, unknown strength equals potential threat."

Toya cracked his neck.

"Tch. Then let's show them we're not weak."

Kenji didn't move.

He could feel it clearly now.

Every inch of this place was designed to measure him.

A sharp metallic sound echoed.

From the highest platform, a tall man in a dark uniform stepped forward. His posture was rigid, eyes sharp like steel.

"Kenji," the man said coldly.

"I am Kei, assistant to Chairman Daku."

His gaze pierced straight through Kenji.

"You will demonstrate your combat value."

A low murmur spread across the platforms.

Kenji raised his head slightly.

"And if I refuse?"

Kei's lips didn't move.

"Then you will be labeled an unstable element."

Silence.

Ryo took a step forward.

"This is bull—"

Kenji lifted one hand.

"I'll do it."

Ryo froze.

"…Kenji?"

Kenji stepped onto the center of the arena.

"Conditions?" he asked.

Kei snapped his fingers.

From the opposite gate, three figures entered.

All wearing standard Royal Battler combat gear.

"A Rank," Kei announced.

"Three of them."

A ripple of surprise passed through the audience.

Aiko's eyes widened slightly.

"That's not a test. That's intimidation."

The signal was given.

The moment the barrier activated—

They attacked.

The first Battler moved with wind-enhanced speed, blade flashing toward Kenji's neck.

Kenji leaned back by instinct.

The blade barely missed.

The second struck from above, fire karma erupting in a crushing downward blow.

Kenji crossed his arms—

Boom!

The ground cracked.

Dust exploded outward.

Kenji slid back several meters, boots carving lines into stone.

"…He blocked it," someone whispered.

Kenji exhaled slowly.

Don't lose control.

The third Battler appeared behind him—electric karma screaming.

Too fast.

Kenji turned—

Pain exploded through his side.

Blood hit the ground.

Ryo shouted,

"KENJI!"

Kenji staggered—but didn't fall.

His eyes darkened.

The air around him shifted.

Not exploding.

Not raging.

Compressing.

Kei's eyes narrowed.

"That pressure…"

Kenji took one step forward.

The stone beneath his foot shattered.

In a blink, he was gone.

The electric Battler's eyes widened—

Kenji's fist struck his abdomen.

Not flashy.

Not loud.

But devastating.

The Battler flew across the arena, crashing unconscious into the barrier.

Shockwaves rippled.

The fire user roared and charged.

Kenji met him head-on.

Their fists collided—

CRACK.

The fire karma dispersed violently.

The Battler collapsed to his knees, coughing blood.

The last one hesitated.

Fear showed.

Kenji looked at him.

Just looked.

The Battler dropped his weapon.

Silence.

Absolute silence.

Kei stared.

Chairman Daku, watching from above, slowly smiled.

"So this is it," the old man murmured.

"The core that doesn't overflow… yet overwhelms."

Kenji turned away, blood still dripping from his side.

"I'm done."

The barrier dropped.

Medical teams rushed in.

Ryo grabbed Kenji's shoulder.

"You idiot! You didn't have to take that hit!"

Kenji replied quietly,

"I needed to know how far they'd push."

Aiko looked up at the platform.

"And now they know something too."

High above, Daku turned away.

"Prepare the council," he said.

"And inform the king."

Kei bowed slightly.

"Yes, Chairman."

Far from the arena—

Deep beneath the kingdom—

Another seal trembled.

A heartbeat echoed in darkness.

And somewhere in the world—

A man smiled while sharpening a blade.
