Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Rebirth of the Fairies

Rafaela sat on a rock covered in silver moss.

The Alpha Spore Dragon rested nearby, watchful, its deep breathing stirring the branches like feathers.

The silence of the Abyssal Forest was heavy.

A silence that had lasted decades without fairy laughter.

Rafaela took a deep breath.

—Guide… how… do I create fairies? —she asked hesitantly.

—You mentioned that Myriam "exhaled" her divinity, but… I don't want to repeat the same system. It's exhausting, enslaving… and if something happens to me, the species dies out again.

The guide floated in front of her, calm and luminous.

—You have the authority to define the method of fairy birth. You just need to establish a universal principle.

Rafaela snapped her fingers, determination flashing in her eyes.

—Perfect. I want to do something better. Something that doesn't depend on me all the time…

And something… beautiful.

Her mind recalled an image from her past life: a children's movie, lights flying, a child's laughter echoing.

—Yes… that scene… —she whispered nostalgically.

—Past life reference detected: fantasy/children's genre film? —the guide prompted.

—Exact. —Rafaela smiled, a tinge of warmth in her voice.

—I want fairies to be born… from the first laugh. The first laugh of a child of each sapient race.

The guide blinked, processing.

—Processing method…

—Accepted method. Basis: laughter is a pure manifestation of positive emotional mana.

—But one more thing, —Rafaela added, raising a finger

— I don't want it to depend solely on humans. If humans find out about the method… they're capable of kidnapping babies to force laughter or manipulate it. So it will be for all intelligent races.

The dragon Spore roared in approval, as if agreeing with her wisdom.

—And more details: —Rafaela continued

—I want several types of fairies, depending on the natural affinity of the laughing baby:

If the manna is warm → Fairy of Light

If it's watery → Water Fairy

If it's earthly → Earth Fairy

If it's windy → Air Fairy

If it's emotional → Fairy of Enchantment

She paused, raising her gaze to the gray sky above the forest.

—And out of pure nostalgia… I want artisan fairies, little inventors and creators capable of inspiring dwarves and blacksmiths.

The guide automatically annotated each word.

—Add a special category "Tooth Fairies"? —it asked.

Rafaela smiled maliciously.

—Yes, Because… why not? A compulsive hobby of collecting teeth and giving gold in exchange. Let it be strange, but… let it exist.

The dragon emitted a sound somewhere between confusion and resignation.

Rafaela raised both hands, concentrating.

—I also want them all to be a standard height.

No mini-fairies that look like mosquitoes.

Height: 1.5 meters.

—Recorded value. —the guide confirmed.

—And most importantly… To avoid overpopulation… The process can only occur once per individual. Only the first laugh creates a fairy.

The entire forest trembled gently.

—Divine rules established.

—Creation of a new fairy system: completed.

—Pending: manifestation of the first fairy core. —the guide spoke solemnly.

Rafaela exhaled wearily.

—Well… now all that's left is to wait for the first laugh of a baby somewhere in the world…

"The world is big," she thought. "It shouldn't take long."

She leaned back against the dragon, who adjusted its enormous body to shield her from the wind.

The branches danced in expectant silence.

Until…

A faint sound was heard nearby.

A tinkling sound.

As if someone were ringing a tiny bell.

Rafaela opened her eyes.

A small green light floated among the bushes.

—What…? —she whispered.

The light drew nearer. It wasn't a fairy.

It was a forest spirit: a small creature, like a tiny ball of energy with a childlike shape.

It had large, round, glowing eyes and wings made of green smoke.

It floated towards Rafaela, trembling, nervous, but… excited.

—"R… R… Queen…" —it said in a high, ethereal voice.

Rafaela froze.

The word pierced her chest.

Queen.

She knew what it meant.

She knew that Myriam had also been called that.

And she knew that… she no longer had a man's body.

Her life had changed forever.

The spirit lowered its head, trembling.

—"Queen… fairy… you returned…"

Rafaela swallowed, her heart clenching.

—I… —her fingers trembled for a moment

—I'm still… getting used to that… title.

The spirit looked up, confused.

Rafaela took a deep breath, forcing herself to maintain composure.

—But… yes. I'm here now. And I'm going to fix what's broken.

The spirit smiled with relief, as if its entire existence depended on those words.

—"The Queen… returned…"

Rafaela looked away.

She said nothing.

She couldn't. Not yet.

But inside…

Something ignited.

A duty.

A promise.

An inheritance she didn't ask for… but which was now her responsibility.

The dragon bowed before her.

The spirit floated away with joy.

And far, far away, in some corner of the world…

A baby let out its first laugh.

And in the air… something began to shine.

-------

The Abyssal Forest stirred gently.

A warm wind, unlike the usual cold, dense air, blew between the black trunks.

Rafaela stood up immediately.

—A guide? —she asked, eyes wide.

What was that?

The guide shone brightly, floating beside her.

—A fairy event has been detected: the first laugh of a sapient child.

—Really? —Rafaela's voice trembled with excitement.

—Location detected. Coordinates marked. Suggestion: immediate trip to observe the manifestation of the first fairy nucleus.

Rafaela didn't wait another second.

—Dragon, take flight! We have a date with history. —She climbed onto the Alpha Spore Dragon's back, holding her silver hair so it wouldn't block her vision.

The Alpha Spore Dragon roared, crouched low, and then leaped into the air with a breathtaking bound, snapping branches like brittle twigs.

Its spiny wings unfurled, and the poisonous forest wind was left behind as it soared.

—Come on! Move faster, big guy! —Rafaela shouted, her hair waving like a silver flag.

—It's not every day that the first fairy of the new world is born.

The guide projected a small beam of light, indicating the path.

—Destination: 21 kilometers to the east, edge of the Abyssal Forest, border with the Eiruin Valley.

The dragon accelerated, the wind whistling like a whip against Rafaela's ears.

She laughed despite the vertigo.

—Damn, this is the life… —she muttered, exhilarated.

Eiruin Valley

The Place of the First Light

When they descended, the landscape transformed completely.

The valley was filled with golden grass, blue flowers, and a small stream that shimmered like liquid silver.

A simple rural village lay in the distance, with wooden houses and farms.

—Did the first fairy come from here? —Rafaela asked, eyes wide.

—A peasant's baby?

—Confirmed. The laughter was pure, strong, and perfectly synchronized with the ambient mana.

The dragon landed softly.

Rafaela dismounted gracefully, though a little wary of tripping, she still wasn't used to her long legs.

Then she saw it.

Right in the middle of the meadow…

A bright spot floated.

At first, it looked like a firefly.

But then it grew… and grew… until it became a sphere of pure white light, the size of a watermelon.

The air vibrated around it, as if it were singing.

Rafaela approached silently, heart pounding.

The forest spirit that had followed her hovered nearby, trembling with emotion.

—"Queen… first fairy…" —whispered the spirit.

The sphere began to take shape.

A feminine silhouette emerged: long legs, slender torso, outstretched wings, hair cascading like a waterfall of light.

Rafaela held her breath.

—Guide… what kind will it be? —she asked quietly.

—Detecting… laughter affinity: warm, innocent, and bright light.

—Classification: Fairy of Light.

The form completed its transition.

A soft flash enveloped the entire valley for a second.

And there she was.

A young woman, 1.50 meters tall, luminous white skin, transparent golden wings, yellow eyes like dawn, and white hair with golden highlights.

She blinked for the first time, looking at her hands, the sky, the meadow…

And then she saw Rafaela.

Her pupils glowed.

—Are you… my mother? —she asked in a sweet, crystal clear voice.

Rafaela's heart stopped.

She swallowed nervously.

—Well… technically I'm your… goddess. —she said, forcing a gentle smile

— The one who created you.

—So… I guess so. Something like that.

The fairy stretched out her arms as if to touch her, trembling.

—I have… life thanks to you… You are my Queen…

Rafaela tensed at the word.

"Queen."

The weight of the title struck her like an emotional spear.

But she did not step back.

The fairy bowed deeply.

—We… will follow your light… so that darkness never returns.

The forest spirit vibrated with joy.

The Spore Dragon roared softly, a note of pride in its voice.

The guide spoke with solemn authority:

—First successful birth.

—Fairy system restored.

—The fairy line is officially reborn.

Rafaela took a deep breath.

—Well… I guess I'm now… the mother of an entire race.

—Great.

Her life is getting crazier every day.

The fairy smiled radiantly.

—Queen… what should I call you?

Rafaela thought for a moment.

She didn't want to sound powerful, fearsome, or distant.

She just wanted to sound… herself.

—Call me… Rafaela. Just Rafaela.

The first fairy shone with happiness.

—Yes, Rafaela. I am Lumia… the first of your light.

Rafaela felt warmth bloom in her chest.

—Welcome to the world, Lumia… Stay with me. I still have much to learn about being your goddess.

And so, in an unknown valley, under a golden sky…

The new era of the Fairy Kingdom had begun.
