Chapter 79 - Galleila Band, Each with Their Own Thoughts

Pluton, another Ancient Weapon.

Unlike Poseidon, which is only born once every several hundred years, Pluton has always existed.

The Pluton from history is now sealed beneath Wano Country, but not many people know this.

As for the other set of blueprints, after being passed down through countless generations of shipwrights, it eventually ended up in Tom's hands.

The history of the blueprint's inheritance is long. It is said that shipwrights left it behind to prevent an Ancient Weapon from falling into the hands of evildoers, so that others would have a weapon capable of opposing it.

Tom was very familiar with these blueprints. Although the complex craftsmanship and massive hull meant that building this warship would be fraught with difficulties, there was still useful knowledge to be gained from them, and Tom had learned quite a lot.

If this were handed over to Nereus…

"If we could gather all the outstanding shipwrights of Fishman Island and spend some time on it, maybe we really could build it… but would that be a blessing or a curse?

No, Fishman Island isn't ready yet…"

As one of the greatest shipwrights of the current era, Tom could judge that constructing such a vessel would be anything but easy. Even Fishman Island's "Noah's Ark" would look like a child's toy in comparison.

Fishman Island's national strength was still insufficient.

"Let's wait and see… but to build something like this… we might really need to rely on the legendary Galley-La Band…"

The Galley-La Band came from Elbaf, with more than a hundred members, including many ancient giants, and they were also outstanding shipwrights.

In Tom's eyes, if anyone could accomplish such a feat in the shortest time, it would probably be those giants.

Hesitating, Tom chose to observe and wait. These blueprints could only appear at the right time; otherwise, they would bring nothing but disaster.

As for the World Government and the Marines, they felt nothing in particular about it.

Under normal circumstances, affiliated nations are protected by the World Government. If a king's authority is seized and the king seeks the World Government's help, the World Government will dispatch the Marines to help reclaim the throne.

Something similar had happened in the Sorbet Kingdom, but such matters were not absolute.

After Wapol was driven out, the World Government paid him little attention. Dalton, who continued paying the Heavenly Tribute, quite naturally took over the throne instead.

In the World Government's view, who the king is does not matter; whether the Heavenly Tribute can be paid is what truly matters.

After growing strong and prosperous again thanks to the power of the Munch-Munch Fruit, Wapol ultimately returned to his seat at the Levely.

"That Nereus became king? He's just a pirate, does he really think he can govern a country?"

"What does that have to do with us? With his personality, the ones getting headaches will be the pirates. This kind of make-believe game, let him play it."

Inside Mariejois, in the vast conference room, only Saturn and Nusjuro were present. The other Elders were doing who knows what.

From time to time, Nusjuro would unsheath the weapon in his hand, the blade occasionally producing many reflections, much like his shiny bald head.

They were not ordinary Celestial Dragons. They had no interest in slaves and no need to venture into the deep sea.

Only those wanted by the World Government, unable to pass openly over the Red Line, would take that route.

From Saturn's own perspective, Nereus would even eliminate quite a few pirates in the deep sea, reducing some of the World Government's troubles.

As for whether Nereus would do anything else…

It hasn't happened yet, has it?

The World Government's logic has always been to patch leaks only where water is actually leaking. Before the club truly comes down on their heads, they usually just stand there and watch.

"When was the last time we communicated with Fishman Island?"

"Two hundred years ago? Anyway, it was when the previous 'Poseidon' was still alive. That was the first time Fishman Island joined the World Government, and the only time.

More importantly, has the Figarland family's kid been found yet?"

"No. Roger is a troublesome guy as well…"

Compared to Nereus in the deep sea, who for now hadn't really affected them, Saturn and Nusjuro were far more curious about when the Figarland family's child would be found.

Even among the upper ranks of the Marines, quite a few people thought the same way.

After all, when dealing with pirates, the Marines and the World Government have always taken two different approaches. Those they can handle should naturally be captured as soon as possible, otherwise, how would they prove their usefulness to the affiliated nations around the world?

But once a pirate grows powerful, occupies a sizable territory, and possesses tremendous strength, they are temporarily left alone.

As long as such a pirate does not openly do anything too outrageous, the status quo will be maintained for the time being. During the era of the Yonko, the Marines even had an internal order prohibiting them from actively engaging in war with the Yonko.

The deep sea of Fishman Island is a rare natural stronghold even when looking across the entire ocean, so this was even more the case there.

Instead, some people who had already left the Marines were deep in thought at this moment.

"Is this your revolution, Mr. Nereus?"

In the South Blue, Dragon, who had already left the Marines, was on a rather remote island, planning his next course of action.

Having witnessed many of the events at God Valley, and learning about those monsters with their immense power and complex mechanics, Dragon knew clearly that his current strength was not enough.

After all, he was merely Garp's biological son. Without two hundred times the effort, he could not suddenly master Garp's fist techniques.

Dragon did not understand the situation in the Ryugu Kingdom, but he could sense that Nereus was beginning to make his move.

On MADS's research ship, Wobbegong merely glanced at the newspaper, said nothing, and continued with his research.

He knew very well that Fishman Island would need many more things in the future.

And in the Underworld of the New World, this was the real bombshell.

Smuggling, maritime transport, and all kinds of businesses found it extremely difficult to bypass Fishman Island; although some people's connections allowed their goods to pass through the Red Line.

But that inevitably meant being thoroughly squeezed, something utterly unacceptable to underworld merchants who valued money above all else.

If one were to ask who was affected the most, it was undoubtedly Umit.

By this time, he had already gathered all the bosses and captains he could contact via Den Den Mushi and convened a meeting.

"Listen up. I'll say this again, we're in maritime transport. We make our money shipping cargo. Do not touch things you shouldn't.

Slaves, especially Merfolk and Fish-Man slaves, absolutely do not even think about it! When passing Fishman Island, give them whatever they want, and do not resist. Understood?!"

"Lord Umit, the prices of slaves in the market have generally been rising lately, and even just transporting them—"

"I said don't touch it! Do you think they're willing to pay more for no reason? No matter how much money you make, you still need to be alive to spend it…"
