We all exit the lunchroom as we make our way to the courtyard. Students from all years begin to gather around. Some with their lunches in her hands. Others patiently wait to see it begin.
Myself, Ezekiel, and Ceaser watch from the second floor.
I pan my vision across the courtyard. I spot the other two girls with Rose at the table.
One girl had medium-length pink hair, with medium layers, and pink eyes, and wore her uniform baggy, her sleeves longer than her arms, as she often yawned into them.
The girl next to her had short yellow hair, a bob cut, with a pin on the left side of her hair, and a cute face. Both girls looked to be the same height as Erielle .
"They are Sunneta and Azalea," Ceaser said. "B Class Mages. Class 1C"
"So there in Rose's homeroom huh" I thought to myself.
"They are all sisters not by blood" Ceaser comments.
"No by blood? Stepsiblings?"
"No more like adopted siblings."
"Ugh when are they going to start? Am getting bored over here" Ezekiel eagerly awaits.
"They'll start so man. No worries. Am surprised you finished all that food." I comment.
"It was no problem. I scarfed it all down"
An hourglass begins to form.
"Time," Ceaser says as he points out.
Me and Ezekiel both look at the hourglass.
"Ten minutes should be enough," Ceaser says, looking at his hourglass. He clasps his hands and speaks into it "Ecko" he says.
"10 minutes is that enough time?" Ezekiel asks.
"Yup" Caesar responds.
After a few moments Axel and Issac look back at him and give him the thumbs up.
I leaned over to Ezekiel "Hey this dude only speaks in short phrases" "Yeah I know man but he talked a lot inside the dining room earlier"
Ceaser looks over to us.
"Did he overhear us," I asked myself.
"The reason why I talk like this. I have a dry throat. Cough cough."
Me and Ezekiel both nod in understanding.
He extends his arm. As it looks like a bottle of water. He takes a sip.
GULP
"Sorry if I speak or barely speak at all. I have this condition where my throat gets dry and I can only speak in short phrases. Am not being rude, it's just my condition." Ceaser speaks as his voice gets some life into it.
"It matches his magic," Ezekiel says out loud.
"Yes, Ezekiel, it's kinda neat if." Ceaser's voice begins to go how it was before.
"Hey don't push yourself, man," I said.
"All good I'll be fine. Let's watch the match" Ceaser says as he puts up a thumb.
We look towards the courtyard.
Instead of using the full courtyard both the matches are split within the two areas of the courtyard. Axel observes Erielle and Rose. While on the other side, Issac watches the two vs two. With Luna and Faith vs Lily and Bella.
"Two battles will transpire simultaneously due to the lack of time. I will observe Erielle vs Rose" Axel calls out.
"And I will be observing this tag team battle" Issac speaks.
"This match will have a ten minute time limit, just enough time to end this match before the lunch period ends." Axel asks.
"Everyone ready?" Issac asks.
"Set" Axel.
"GO!" Axel and Issac say simultaneously
Erielle unsheaths her rapier as she takes her stance. In this case, her right foot is forward, her front leg is bent while the back leg is straight, with her rapier in her right hand below her hips while her left hand is behind her.
Luna then summons a katana out of thin air. She unsheathes it taking the same high stance, with the katana's blade in her left hand with the sword in her right.
Faith activates a magic circle as a flow of water surrounds her body as she manipulates it with her hand motions.
Rose then activates her magic circle as it illuminates a rose gold color that matches her hair color.
Lily and Bella activate their magic circles; they both glow white and purple respectively.
"Set," Issac says.
"GO"
The two battles begin.
On Axel's side the match starts off slow with the two feeling each other out. Who's going to make a move first?
Erielle awaits Rose's move, her eyes squinted waiting.
Rose summons a chain whip that she holds in her left hand, with 4 roses on its hilt, and a sharp edge at the end of it. She begins to swing the chain creating a sound in the air.
WHOSH WHOOSH SWHOOSH
HAA" Rose swings her body to the left, as she lets the pointed part hurl straight at Erielle at a fast speed. Erielle dodges the attack but Rose swings her left arm back sending the pointed edge back to Erielle .
Erielle gets back into a stance.
STAR MAGIC: HEAVEN BEAM
Erielle 's rapier lights up once again and attempts to lunge beyond the chain.
Rose smiles.
I watched as the pointed edge did a u turn go directly toward Erielle .
Without even noticing the chains begin to wrap around Erielle and turn into restraints.
"Ha you wouldn't think I would notice that the majority of your attacks are all lunges and forward attacks that involve getting close to your opponents?" Rose says.
With the pointed area now freed, Rose uses it to attack Erielle as she braces for the attack with her left arm.
POKE
The point touched Erielle 's skin.
"It touched Erielle ." Ezekiel says.
"Huh," I don't feel any pain," Erielle says to herself as she dematerializes into light and backs up a few feet from Rose,she closely examines the spot that poked her.
What appears to be a black dot on her left arm. She applies healing magic to it "there's no wound, no blood."
Rose begins to slowly walk to Erielle as she collects the chain whip "Wondering if that was a hit? Wondering where the blood is?" With Rosebud here I can guide by attacks to simply bind you and pierce you."
BLOOM
"Oh there it goes," Rose smiles in enjoyment.
A rose appears on Erielle 's left arm.
"What is this?" Erielle wonders.
"Let it happen again and let's find out," Rose says as she smiles.
WARP
Erielle teleports beside Rose and attempts to hit her from her right side but Rose blocks it with her arm.
Erielle looks at her left arm again. "It's still here."
WHOOSH
Another attack from Rosebud gets sent flying at Erielle . She blocks it again with her rapier."When will this mark disappear?" Erielle wondered.
DASH
Rosebud's chains now wrap around Erielle 's rapier as Rose grabs the rapier and slams Erielle into the ground using an overhead throw.
"I didn't say I couldn't attack from close range did I?" Rose says.
OHH
Echoed reactions from the other students.
Back on the second floor.
"What in the?" I said in a baffled tone.
"C'mon Erielle what are you doing ?!" Ezekiel shouts.
"Hmm," Ceaser says. "Is she? Holding back by chance?"
"Who?" Ezekiel wonders.
"Erielle ?" I ask.
"Yes, it seems she wishes to do a movement. But hesitate before doing it." Caesar says.
"Really?"
"Yes Valerus her indecisiveness in this battle will be her downfall"
"Where was the Erielle that almost ALMOST kicked my ass?" Ezekiel asks.
"How long has it been?" I ask Ceaser.
"Minute. Barley"

The battle on the other side of the courtyard begins.
A flower shaped like a bell materializes from Bella's magic circle.
DING DONG DING DONG
"Oh wouldn't want anyone else to get caught up in that," Issac says as he puts both of his palms facing outwards.
ILLUSION MAGIC: BOX
Issac creates a translucent box that surrounds the two-on-two battles. "That seemed to be the right play judging by the fact that girl has some kind of sound magic. It would be messy if spectators would get involved" Issac thinks to himself.
The bell-like object chimes.
Luna squints her eyes and looks around her.
"Wait. Faith Cover your ears" Luna demands.
"Oh ok," Faith agrees as she covers her ears.
MOON CREATION MAGIC: CRESCENT MOON SLASH
By swiping the katana's blade with her left, Luna's katana glows as she sends out multiple slash shapes like a crescent moon with every slash she makes with her katana.

"What," Faith says out loud.

Erielle gets slammed by Rose.
"Things are looking kinda rough over there. I wish I could fight!" Ezekiel says in an excited tone.
I look on the other side of the courtyard. As we watch Luna and Faith take on two of Rose's friends. The one with the purple long hair has light purple eyes, and bangs that almost cover her forehead, with the usual girl uniform top but with white slacks, a tad taller than Erielle with a normal build in the chest area as well. On the other hand, the yellow-haired girl next to her had short hair that she tied with a plaid bow, golden brown eyes, the normal Aurora Saint Academy uniform, thigh-high socks, shorter than Rose.
Ceaser speaks. "Bella and Lily. Nonexempt mages"
"Nonexempt" meaning they are weaker than Faith and Luna?" I ask.
"Correct" He points at the hourglass and puts up two fingers.
"2 Minutes top," Ceaser says.
VRMM
"A box?" Ezekiel asks.
"MOON CREATION MAGIC: CRESCENT MOON SLASH"
"What the?" I say.
"Pfftt look at her, she's attacking in the opposite direction," Ezekiel says.
"Huh, what's happening?" I wonder.
As I looked at the other spectators' faces they looked confused. With Sunneta and Azalea grinning across from us.

Back inside the box.
CUT
Luna receives a cut on her left shoulder.
"What's happening?" Faith wonders.
"Ahaha It worked huh" Lily says.
Luna wanders around facing and attacking in the opposite direction. "What is going on?" Luna asks Faith. As she continues to walk in the opposite direction.
"Uh I feel discombobulated," Luna says swaying back and forth struggling to keep her balance grabbing at her head.
"Some kind of sound magic that messes with your senses, no it wasn't her bell." Faith looks at Luna's cut. "That attack came from the bell then how did she get her senses mixed up? She told me to cover my ears as I did so."
"Just sit tight Luna" Faith sits Luna down as she gets ready to fight.
"Well one down," Bella says as she raises her palm again.
DING DONG DING DONG
"Let's see if my theories are correct" Faith waits for an attack without covering her ears as she covers Luna's.
CUT
Faith receives a small cut just below her right cheekbone. "I stand corrected on those slashes on hit when your ears are not covered" She then extends her right hand forward as water begins to beam straight toward Bella and Lily.
CLAP
WATER CREATION MAGIC: Abyssal Harpoon
Faith wastes little time as she launches the harpoon at the two girls.
"Not so fast"
Lily materializes two whips that she holds in each hand.
She grabs the harpoon with the two whips and flies it back at Faith.
Faith then catches it.
DING DONG DING
"The damn bell again well then what if I" Faith twirls her harpoon in a circle as it generates a powerful blast of water back at Lily and Bella.
"This again what this going-"
Faith then appears from the blasts of water that she created.
"Hmph"
Fatih attempted to land a clean hit but nothing was there.
"Awee if Miss Secretary got mixed up as well," Lily says as she puts her hands behind her back and taunts Faith.
"What the me too" Faith says "What left is right and what right is left?
"Well, time to end this, do it, Bella."
DING DONG DING
Luna stands once more facing in the right direction this time.
MOON CREATION MAGIC: FULL MOON SLASH
She then slashes the air as dozens of circle-shaped blasts generate and shoot outwards.
SLASH SLASH
"Argh" the two girls get slashed by Luna.
"What the hell but how?" Bella kneels on one knee.
"Just by chance," Luna says as she stands back up, eyes closed.
"What" the two say in shock.
"I just took a chance swinging my attack in whatever direction. So I used an attack that covered a whole area. Although I closed my eyes I just took a chance feeling the vibration in the ground."
"You."
DING DONG DING
MOON CREATION MAGIC: CRESCENT MOON SLASH
Luna does the slashes as she runs forward towards the girls.
"Ugh," Lily throws her whips at Luna but steps in the opposite direction. "What did my magic wear off?"
STEP STEP STEP
"No"
CLASH
"You must be wondering if your magic wore off. That is not the case. To put it simply I figured out how both your magics work" Luna says as she disarms Lily's whips from here.
DING DONG DING DONG
Luna then runs back to Faith as she covers her ears. She grabs Faith and points her in the right direction.
"Faith it's time to do THAT again" Luna demands. "You sure now?" Faith questions. "Yes, I don't wanna miss the next class." "Alright."
The two put their hands together as they generate one magic circle that encapsulates both of them.
"What is the" "Oh no" the two flower girls brace themselves.
MAGIC UNION: RISING TIDE
A giant moon appears in the background as it encounters a beach tide. Suddenly a huge wave appears engulfing the two girls trapping them within the wave. Washing them away.
"Oh since we're in this box doesn't that mean we-" Faith speaks up as they get soaked with water.
Bella and Lily are passed out on the ground as Issac releases his magic.
The victors of this match are Faith and Luna.
Both are soaked trying to ring out their clothing.
"Ugh, at least we got the win. My hat got soaked but that's alright. "
"Yes, we indeed did," Luna says.
Luna then walks over to Bella and Lily.
COUGH COUGH
Azalea and Sunneta rush over to their friend's side. Sunneta helps to bring up the two girls. as she heals their wounds and fatigue with her magic.
"Healing magic," Luna says to herself.
The four then look upon Rose's matchup.
"C'mon Rose."

Back on the second floor.
"UNION MAGIC?" I thought to myself. It's the first time I've seen it. Ezekiel in excitement "Union Magic?! Cool, I want to do that now. Let's do it Valerus."
I look at him with a serious face.
"Oh that's right you have no mana. Haha my bad" as he scratches his head.
GULP
"Union magic involves two mages that have a strong bond and magic affinities complement one another. Luna and Faith were able to complete that. One Water is complimented by the moon. In the ocean, tides are made with the gravitational effect of the moon. Since Luna has moon magic and Faith has water magic. They're able to successfully do it." Ceaser says.
"Interesting," I said.
"Those two girls had interesting abilities but in a real battle, it'll be hard for their allies. If anything they'll be a backline support" Ceaser says.
Ezekiel is finally quiet as he puts on a thinking face.
"What I realized when watching this is why doesn't Faith use her Star Magic?"Ezekiel asks. "When I fought her she only used her affinity magic, not her star. Why is that?"
"She does use her magic occasionally," Ceaser says. He pauses. "She doesn't like to use it."
TAP TAP
Ceaser taps the hourglass.
"See what I said? 2 minutes top" Ceaser speaks. "Now."
We turn our attention to Erielle and Rose.
I watched as I saw Rose's friends return to their spot along with the other two girls in defeat.
As for the other battle Rose tries to make more advances on Erielle but Erielle evades and ducks all of them.
"What is she doing?" Ezekiel shakes me around and pleads for my opinion.
"I don't know playing defensively" I shrug my shoulders with a smile on my face. I turn my head towards the fight "What are you thinking of Erielle ?" are the thoughts I have in my mind.
"She has the speed, durability, power, and power. What is she afraid of?"
"That mark," Ceaser said.
Oh right the rose mark I thought to myself.
"So if that were me I would end this match right away," Ezekiel said.
Me and Ceaser stare at him.
"What did I say something wrong? It's true I would crush these-"
"Well did that plan work against Mr.Reigns" a familiar voice interrupts him.
Faith comes walking back from the match.
A commotion comes back as we look to our left.
"Ms.Luna great job" "Of course or the student council would win" "Luna you were amazing" A crowd forms around the council members walking towards us.
Faith, Issac, and Luna return to meet with us.
STEP STEP STEP
"I was partially injured!" Ezekiel says putting his fist up.
"Dont use that injured card as an excuse there Kitty Kat. Mind you I was fighting serious when I fought you" Faith says with a smug look.
Ezekiel moves closer to Faith "Well you looked like you were struggling-"
"Would you two please shut your mouths?" Luna says with a calm but cold smile looking at the two of them.
"Yes of course," the both of them say.
Speaking of Albeck I saw a glimpse of him in the corner of my eye observing the matchup. He watched alone in an isolated corner with his hands crossed.
"Anyways great win out there," I say to change the mood.
Ceaser gives a thumbs up.
"Running into a little situation got the job done," Faith says.
"It indeed was an interesting battle. I was lost there for a moment. Very lost." Luna says as she puts her hand on her head.
"It's a good thing I brought up that barrier. The scene would not have looked nice after and I would get an earful from Axel." Issac brings up.
"You wouldn't hear the end of it," Faith says.
We all then turn our attention to the match-up.
I glance at the hourglass.
7 minutes left.
SWING
"Argh"
DODGE
"Why isn't she closing in on me? I know that she can. She has speed, why?" Erielle examines the fight as she looks down on her arm. "Wait, she isn't trying to hit me, she's trying to aim for the same spot she hit already."
Erielle changes her stance. She now assumes a much different stance than before with her left heel flat, her fully extended leg with her left arm parallel to it, her right leg planted in line with the left heel, her arm slightly above her shoulder, and her grip changing on her rapier with her thumb on top.
TWIPPP
Rose's chain whip comes whirling at her.
CLASH
Erielle lunges forward and connects her rapier with the pointed end of the chain whip casting it away. She then rushes Rose who's defenseless. Erielle was a mere 4 feet away from Rose as she was about to land a crushing blow.
CLAP CLAP
Rose claps her hands twice rapidly.
"Argh"
CLINK CLANK
Erielle stops mid-motion as she falls to the ground and drops her Rapier.
"What the hell?" Erielle says.
POW
Rose kicks Erielle in the face, sending her back.
THUMP

"Ouch, that must've hurt," Ezekiel says.
"What did she do?" Faith asks.
"Hmm, it must involve that Rose mark on her arm not only that but look at her whip" Luna points out.
SHINE
On Rose's weapon, one of the 4 roses shines on it.
"Interesting weapon, perhaps this may be a little challenge for Erielle ," Issac says.
"This isn't looking good," I thought to myself.

"Ugh," Erielle is slow to get back on her feet as she slowly rises on one knee. She feels a slight pain as a red liquid drips from her nose. She wipes it "Blood huh"
"Ohh that's a nice color on you Maiden," Rose says as she walks closer to her with a sick smile.
Erielle then gets back on her feet and picks up her rapier.
"You were probably wondering what happened or how it happened. It was just simple. DONT. GET. HIT. BY. MY. WHIP. Especially this point right here" Rose taunts as she points at the tip of her chain whip.
SPIT
"Alright, thanks for revealing that very valuable information. That means I can just do this" Erielle wipes the blood from her nose with her forearm then points her rapier up.
LIGHT CREATION MAGIC: HEAVEN'S LIGHT
A ball of pure light appears from Erielle 's sword as multiple shots of pure light shoot out from it like homing missiles from a jet.
"Tch" Rose runs and dodges and attacks with her whip.
Jumping and sliding across the courtyard Axel attempts to dodge everything as well.
"Such destructive force" Axel comments. He looks around the area. "I have to watch for the bystanders."
BZZ
"Agh" one of the beams of light nicks Rose's uniform from her upper right shoulder.
STEP STEP STEP STEP STEP
"Huh"
STAR MAGIC: HEAVEN BEAM
"She can still move?!" Rose, surprised by this revelation, attempts to come back.
WARP
Erielle 's eyes widen as Rose disappears from her sight.
"Huh?"

All of us spectating looked surprised. Even Albeck looked impressed as I saw his eyes widen. I looked across the courtyard on the same level as us. Rose's friends looked impressed.
"What did she do?" Faith asks.
"Dont tell me," Luna said.
"What"

Rose teleports right in front of Erielle and punches her to the ground. Once again slamming her .
"You see, my weapon always makes me to have one of 4 abilities as long as I mark my opponent with it. The more rose marks on your body the more I can manipulate it. Oh, it seems you have another one on you" Rose says as she points to Erielle 's face.
"This will be fun," Rose says as Rosebud 2nd rose begins to glow.

"Teleportation and temporary paralysis" Caesar spoke.
The students conversed with one another. "Rose is pretty strong and cool if you ask me" "Wow is she about to beat a Twelve-Star Mage?" "Another beat today?" "Tch they shouldn't be exempt from the Magus Exam" "What makes them so special?" "Shh, they can hear us" The students chatted.
All that were watching were taken Rose's side as she looked unstoppable.
Rose stands tall proudly as she nods and smiles at these comments.
The rest of the council members do nothing as they watch silently and continue to spectate the match.
"Why these-" Ezekiel begins to tense up.
I grab his hand "Calm down man it's just a match. Who cares what they say" he then slowly begins to relax for a bit as we turn our attention back to the match.

Rose continues to talk smack. "Is that all you got Virgo you gotta put in more than that. Come on, try something."
BEAM
CRACK CRACK
Rose destroys the oncoming beams that come from Heaven's Light. She then moves a few feet away from Erielle as she once again raises to her feet with her head down. Kicking her rapier away from her.
"She's no longer able to use the rapier," Luna asks.
"Isn't that her main weapon?" Faith asks.
"Just watching Erielle without her weapon is something else. I know first hand" I said confidently.
She then looks up as her eyes begin to glow and yellowish-white hue. As it slowly begins to spread throughout her body.
Rose prepares for the next attack.

A simple flash occurs as Erielle is now gone.
POW
Erielle instantly kicks Rose in the face.
ZIP
Punch to the arm

CLAP CLAP
Erielle 's arm drops but falls through with a kick that Rose blocks.
"Tch"
WARP
"What speed" Issac remarks.
"6 minutes left"
Rose then teleports again but Erielle turns into light and appears above Rose; this continues the two avoiding getting hit by each other.
Rose's expression went from cool and collected to more of a rushed and concerned look with every teleportation she did.
"What's wrong with getting tired now?" Erielle asks.
"HA" Rose swings her whip again.
ZIP
Erielle appears behind her and goes for an attack.
POW
Rose gets knocked to the ground.

Rose evades, ducks, jumps and does everything she can to avoid the attacks. Little do they know their match is damaging the area around them.
Erielle with a nonstop fury with attacks that won't let go. Rose doesn't get the chance to rest.
Erielle then stops and motions her right hand into a circle as multiple spheres of white light appear. She then shoots her hands out at the spheres to fly toward Rose. Rose dances across the courtyard with her whip dodging and striking each sphere that she comes in contact with.
BOOM BOOM BOOM
The environment gets more destroyed.
"ARGH" AHH.
Some of which are almost hitting the students.
"Luna, do you perhaps think this is getting out of hand?" Issac asks.
"Hmm a little"
BOOM
As a chunk of the wall in front of them gets destroyed.
"Her magic really is destructive when it's not controlled"
"Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. When using her rapier Erielle has more control of his magic as she inputs it into the rapier. When she's freely using it she doesn't know how to control it that well" I speak up.
"5 minutes remain" Ceaser again speaks up.
"Look out"
BOOM
Ceaser's sand blocks the blast.
On the other end of the courtyard, students panic as the blasts hit them as well.
" Aahhhhh" a girl falls from the second floor.
Suddenly a giant hand swoops in and catches her.
Albeck Reigns saves her.
A commotion starts to rise as students are running and leaving the area.
"We have to stop her now," Luna demands.
Rose looks around as she spots her friends ducking from the attacks. "Hey, Twelve Star, I believe we should postpone this fight to a later date."
Erielle gives no response.
"Twelve Stars?"
BOOM
Erielle doesn't listen and tries to defeat Rose.
"What the hell?!" Rose backs away.
DING DONG DING DONG
The Bellflower appears once again as Bella comes down. "Rose, we gotta get outta here as the other girls follow."
ZIP
Erielle appears above them.
"What the hell has gotten into you?!" Rose yells as the girls brace for an impact.
SMACK
A giant fist smacks Erielle to the side as Albeck jumps down from the second floor.
I jump down and rush over to Albeck.
"Valerus!" Both Faith and Ezekiel follow me.
"Faith" Luna follows as Issac and Caesar come along as well.
"Hey, what the hell man?!" as I confront him face to face.
"I did what I had to do," Albeck said in a deep but soft voice.
"But you didn't have to do that?"
"Well, could you have done it?" he questions me.
I wear a mixed and confused look on my face.
ZIP
Erielle appears between me and Albeck.
His eyes widen as he barely manages to block the kick with his giant fists. As he gets put back a few feet.
The others arrive as we surround Erielle .
WIND CREATION MAGIC: Fighting Cyclones
Axel finally reveals his magic to be wind magic.
Two cyclones form as they collapse on one another as Erielle s gets trapped.
ILLUSION MAGIC: BOX
Issac casts his box as well.
WATER CREATION MAGIC: WATER CELL
Faith creates water cells over the Box.
Myself, the student council, Ezekiel, Albeck, and Rose stand in disbelief at what just occurred.
"Is everyone alright?"
WHOOSH
"What is the meaning of this?" a voice says.
We all looked behind us as it was the Headmaster Alfred Dawkins.
"Sir this is just-"
He raises his hand "I've seen enough. The ones who have participated in this Erielle Agnello and Rose Providence your exemptions have been revoked, you WILL participate in the Magus Exam as your ratings have returned to default D."
We all look in shock.
"What is this? I didn't do anything wrong"Rose attempts to defend herself.
"But your actions have caused her to be at this point" Alferd bounces back as he turns to the student council. "As for you guys you did well to protect the students from damage but allowing this match to happen in the first place is unacceptable" "As for Albeck Reigns and Ezekiel Agnes, since this too be a lesson. You are also no longer exempt and WILL participate in the magus exams."
Ezekiel speaks up "What that's bogus we didn't even do anything" Ezekiel then points to Albeck "he saved two girls if anything he should be the only one excused from this."
"That is true," Alfred says.
