After asking his question, Nick Fury ignored Feny's gaze and cursed a couple more times, clearly exasperated as well.

"And you call yourself the Director, yet you don't even know the situation of your own subordinates!"

Feny looked at Nick Fury. In the end, he decided not to press the issue with him and explained, "Something went wrong with her body. She only joined S.H.I.E.L.D. because she wanted to be cured. Since I can help her, she abandoned the darkness and turned to the light."

Hearing Feny's words, and seeing Ava Starr's silent expression, Nick Fury knit his brows tightly.

He was a naturally suspicious man who would not easily believe anything anyone said. Therefore, he remained skeptical of Feny's explanation.

However, Nick Fury didn't stay as agitated as he had been a moment ago. Calming himself down, he asked in a deep voice, "Who sent you here?"

"Sitwell!"

Hearing this name, both Nick Fury and Feny were slightly stunned.

Nick Fury had never expected that Sitwell would also be part of Hydra, while Feny equally hadn't anticipated that the order would come directly from his own "undercover agent."

Yet, while the three of them were chatting inside, Sitwell was worried sick on his end.

"Sir, what do we do next? She's been inside for a long time now!"

The urging from his subordinate made him feel even more anxious. Finally, he gritted his teeth, checked the surveillance feed, took out his phone to stealthily send a text message, and then commanded, "Prepare the rocket launchers and explosives!"

Inside the house, Feny felt his phone vibrate. When he took it out and looked at it, his expression changed instantly.

"What's wrong?" Nick Fury asked, noticing Feny's expression.

"Stay inside the house and don't go out!"

Feny didn't answer. He simply left them with that instruction, immediately summoned and equipped Incursio, and opened a portal, vanishing right before their eyes.

"Wait--"

Nick Fury was greatly startled. He wanted to call out to Feny, but the portal had already closed.

Looking over at Ava Starr, who walked over and sat down on the sofa, Nick Fury focused all his attention on her, terrified that she would suddenly phase through space, rush over, and pierce her arm through his heart.

The reason Feny was so agitated was because the text message he received from Sitwell informed him that they intended to blow up his house--even though Sitwell had briefly explained the reason behind it.

Feny was always meticulous even when fighting a battle, terrified of damaging anything. How could he tolerate Sitwell blowing up his home? Thus, he hadn't even had time to reply to the text message before rushing out to stop them.

Stepping outside the house, Feny quickly noticed a group of agents holding guns and rocket launchers, looking for positions to aim.

Feny immediately activated his invisibility mode and swiftly approached them. He took them out with a single punch each. Given the massive gap in strength, the group of agents didn't even realize what was happening before they were completely dealt with.

After confirming there were no more agents nearby, Feny finally replied to Sitwell's text:

"Don't touch my house. Also, Nick Fury can't die yet!"

On the other side, although the agents carried surveillance equipment, because Feny was invisible, many people still didn't understand what had just happened.

Only Sitwell, who had received the text message, knew that Feny had intervened. A look of distress couldn't help but wash over his face. This made things difficult for him; if Nick Fury didn't die, it would be a major mission failure on his part.

"Mission failed, recall everyone!"

But Sitwell was also decisive, immediately issuing the order.

Although on the surface he was still Alexander Pierce's man, his true identity was an undercover agent for Feny--the "world's strongest Hydra leader."

Soon after, Alexander Pierce received the news, immediately found Sitwell, and flew into a furious rage.

"Why did you stop the mission? Nick Fury isn't dead yet! Do you have any idea how much trouble he can cause us?"

"But he has already found the Silver Knight. Ghost and the agents we sent are all dead. Sending more people won't help. I think it's better to think of other ways to remedy this rather than continuing to hunt down Nick Fury!"

Sitwell answered in a low voice. On his way over, he had already called Feny to ask for instructions and received an answer that it didn't matter even if his identity was exposed if things became critical.

Of course, this identity referred to Feny Halsey, the Hydra leader. Revealing that would probably only make Sitwell's outcome even worse.

"The Silver Knight?! He appeared?"

Hearing Sitwell's words, Pierce's expression changed, and he gnashed his teeth.

The matter of Zola and the Winter Soldier Corps hadn't even passed for long, and now he was coming out again to stop him from killing Nick Fury. For a moment, Pierce's hatred for Feny reached its absolute peak.

"Use the backup plan!"

However, no matter how much he hated Feny, Pierce knew in his heart that he couldn't clash with him head-on. With a grim face, he uttered the words, then stared furiously at Sitwell and continued, "Also, find out that guy's identity for me as soon as possible. I want to know who he is, what his weaknesses are, and how we can kill him!"

"Yes, sir!"

Sitwell nodded obsequiously on the surface, but in his heart, he was dismissive. Compared to the old codger in front of him, he clearly felt that following the powerful Feny held a much brighter future.

Soon, Feny received Sitwell's reply, which caused Nick Fury, who was not far away, to fix his one eye squarely on Feny's phone.

"Who are you contacting?"

"Take a guess!"

Feny rolled his eyes and put away his phone. Toward Sitwell, who had been working hard and diligently helping him hide his identity all this time, Feny had long since decided to give him a good ending, so of course he wouldn't expose him.

Nick Fury frowned, silently guessing in his mind, while simultaneously asking, "What did you just go do?"

"Dealing with the tails you brought along!"

Feny glared at Nick Fury in annoyance and said, "The group of agents outside wanted to blow up the house directly. I went out and handled them."

"We can't stay here any longer. They will definitely send more people!" Nick Fury said, immediately standing up upon hearing Feny's words.

Feny knew that Sitwell had already aborted the assassination mission and switched to another plan, but he didn't tell Nick Fury. Instead, he nodded in agreement and asked, "Then where do you want to go?"

Nick Fury gave Feny a suspicious look. He was a master spy; from the tone of Feny's answer, he detected a slight anomaly. He couldn't help but sit back down, testing the waters:

"Forget it. With you around, it won't matter how many people come. I'll focus on recovering from my injuries first!"

Hearing this, Feny was instantly speechless. Then, he said angrily, "If you want to recover from your injuries, go to a hospital. My house doesn't keep men overnight. Hurry up and name a place, and I'll send you there."

Nick Fury seemed determined to stay put, saying without hesitation, "Right now, nowhere else is safe except by your side!"

"..."

Feny couldn't be bothered to argue with Nick Fury. After pondering for a moment in his mind, he turned directly to Ava Starr, who had been very quiet beside them, and said, "Bring your gear. You'll be responsible for protecting him next. Once this matter is resolved, I will tell you who that person is and where he is!"

Hearing Feny's words, before Ava Starr could even answer, Nick Fury sensed that something was slightly amiss. With a vigilant expression, he questioned, "What are you trying to do? I'm not leaving, I want to stay here!"

"Heh, as if I could be threatened by you?!"

Feny sneered and glanced at Nick Fury beside him.

With a flick of his wrist, a large portal appeared. Feny didn't even care about the sofa anymore; he directly teleported the sofa, along with Nick Fury, into a somewhat old apartment.
