Chapter 16 - "Seed"

---

Ren's private suite was dim, lit only by the soft blue glow from the city outside the floor-to-ceiling windows. The air smelled faintly of sweat and perfume.

His personal teacher—Professor Emi Hayashi, late 30s, long black hair pinned loosely, glasses slightly fogged—straddled him on the wide bed. Her blouse was unbuttoned, skirt hiked up, breathing ragged.

She moved faster, nails digging into his shoulders.

"Ren… please… inside… cum inside me this time…"

Her voice cracked, desperate.

Ren's hands gripped her hips, controlling the rhythm. His expression was calm—almost bored.

"Not yet," he said quietly.

Emi whimpered.

"Please… I need it… I need your seed…"

Ren's eyes flicked up to hers.

"Next time."

He lifted her off him in one smooth motion, set her on the bed beside him. She collapsed, chest heaving, thighs trembling.

Ren sat up, reached for his shirt on the floor, started buttoning it.

Emi stared at him, eyes glassy.

"Why…?"

The door opened.

His personal assistant—Saki, short bob, crisp uniform—stepped in without knocking.

She glanced at Emi, then at Ren.

"Why didn't you give her your seed?"

Ren stood up, pulling his pants on.

"Shut up."

He zipped up, voice flat.

"I'm not your toy to order around. I do this because I enjoy it. Not because you want babies."

Saki didn't flinch.

"Ren—"

He walked past her toward the door.

Saki followed silently.

They stepped into the corridor together.

Neither spoke.

Minister Aiko Tanaka sat at the head of the long obsidian table in the secure command chamber. Holographic data orbs floated above the surface—population charts, mana breach maps, male asset trackers.

She looked around at her five officers.

"How many natural-born males do we currently control? Including mainland and the western prefectures."

A young female officer tapped her tablet.

"Total of 46, Minister."

Aiko's fingers tightened.

"Just 46."

She leaned back.

"And the others? New Republic of India. People's Republic. United States remnants. European Union collective. Russian Federation."

The officer read off the numbers.

"India: 112 confirmed. China: 89. United States enclaves: 74. EU bloc: 68 combined. Russia: 131. African continental pockets: highest concentration—approximately 280, but they refuse all cooperation and remain sealed. ASEAN territories have scattered males, but none show viable Y-chromosome characteristics, genetic integrity, or stable DNA. Useless for reproduction programs."

Aiko exhaled slowly.

"So we sit on 46 while Africa hoards nearly three hundred and refuses to share."

One of the other officers—a woman with a scar across her cheek—spoke up.

"Minister… there's something else."

Aiko looked at her.

The officer swallowed.

"The major mana cave in the Southern prefecture—unexpected eruption two hours ago. We lost thirty-seven soldiers. Containment failed."

Aiko's eyes narrowed.

"Are you telling me this now?"

The room went still.

Aiko's voice dropped.

"What were you all doing while this happened?"

No one answered.

She closed her eyes, took a slow breath, then opened them again.

"Most probably they will come here. We have to kill them before they change direction and head toward the Chinese Republic."

She stood up.

"Prepare defense lines. No leaks. No excuses."

The officers nodded quickly.

Aiko turned toward the door.

"46," she muttered under her breath.

"Only 46."

The door sealed behind her.
