CHAPTER 11 – God Is Dead (Part 2)
Noir now finds himself standing in a vast, endless red desert, stretching far beyond the limits of sight. The sky above feels heavy, as if the air itself is waiting for something irreversible to happen. This place is hosting one of the **greatest events in the history of existence—
"The Day of Justice."
A day humanity was never truly prepared for.
It is like a classroom where a teacher gives homework every single day. The teacher warns the students again and again: "Memorize this, or you will be punished."
But when the teacher never checks the homework, the fear slowly fades. Students stop studying. They assume the warning is empty.
Until one sudden day, the teacher walks into the class and says,
"Today, I will check everything."
Those who didn't prepare are the ones who suffer.
It is the same with humanity.
For ages, God's messengers came and warned people—
"One day, the Creator Himself will come. He will judge every soul."
But God never came… until today.
Today is that day.
God Himself is coming.
And those who fail to account for their sins will be thrown into Hell, a place from which no one can ever be rescued.
Noir tries to speak to the people around him, but no one responds. Their silence isn't ignorance—it's terror. They are drowning in fear and guilt, so overwhelmed by their own deeds that they cannot even see what is happening around them.
They want only one thing.
To escape Hell.
After understanding the situation, Noir finally asks them,
"Then… do I also have to give an account of my sins and virtues?"
A cold reply comes.
"Yes."
Noir swallows hard.
"And if I can't?"
No one answers.
In the distance, a gigantic bell echoes through the desert. Beside it stands a massive gate, forged from a metal more precious than gold. Just looking at its design sends a strange, peaceful sensation through Noir's body. His soul feels lighter, calmer.
He wants to walk toward that gate.
But directly opposite to it stands another gate.
This one is alive with fire.
Flames roar violently, devouring the air itself. Noir instinctively turns his eyes away, unable to bear its sight.
Beneath the enormous bell, countless people gather in desperation. They cry, kneel, and beg before God, asking for another chance. Many of them confess that they never truly believed in God while they were alive.
They committed crimes.
Murder.
Rape.
Human trafficking.
Prostitution.
Atheism.
Forgetting God.
Drug abuse.
Suicide.
And countless other unspeakable sins.
They beg for forgiveness.
But God does not forgive them.
This is "Judgment Day".
There will be no second chances.
Some will go to Heaven.
Many will be sent to Hell.
Just imagine—
You are chained together with 50 to 90 others, bound by burning iron chains. A colossal hand, shaped like a massive spoon, lifts all of you at once and throws you into the flaming gate.
You cannot survive there even for seconds—
Yet you must stay there forever.
Demons will come.
Metal spikes will be driven into your eyes, one by one.
Boiling lava will be poured directly into your sockets.
Congratulations. You are immortal.
But the pain will never end.
You committed rape?
Demons will tear apart your private organs.
Every part of your body that caused pain to another will be punished beyond imagination.
You scream?
Molten iron will be forced into your mouth until it exits from the other side of your body.
You didn't believe in God?
There is a beautiful ocean of lava waiting for you.
You will be taught how to swim there.
Enjoy?
These are only examples.
The real punishments are far worse—so horrific they cannot even be spoken aloud.
Noir imagines the scenes of Hell.
Endless screaming.
Crying.
Blood.
Fire.
More screams.
More blood.
Some cry out God's name in desperation.
Some cling to the demons' feet, begging for mercy.
But mercy no longer exists.
Noir watches everything from a distance, drowning in confusion and fear. He doesn't know what to do—or how to escape this place.
Then a terrifying thought strikes him.
What if none of this is real?
Everything that happened today—what proof does he have that any of it was real?
Noir stands up, looks toward the sky, and shouts—
"I don't believe."
Suddenly—
Something rushes toward him.
Everything turns white.
An unbearable light floods the world. Noir cannot keep his eyes open. Even when he closes them, the light burns through his eyelids. It feels like his entire existence is being washed away.
"Oh shit! What is happening?! This light—!"
Then he hears a voice again.
"This is not your place.
Return to where you belong.
Go back."
Once again—
Blackout.
Total darkness.
Noir loses consciousness.
---
Noir opens his eyes and finds himself lying on a bed. His heart races as he rushes to the window, pulling the curtains aside to check whether he's still trapped inside a black hole.
But it's daytime.
People are walking outside.
Cars pass by.
Children are playing.
"Am I inside a simulation now?
Or is everything normal again?
Or… is something else still waiting for me?"
As his senses return, Noir realizes something unsettling.
This isn't his room.
He is inside Gabriel's room.
There's no one outside.
Everything feels unreal—like a hallucination.
Noir feels himself slowly losing his sanity. He exhales deeply, realizing he still hasn't returned home—and doesn't even know how to leave this place.
He steps off the bed.
"There were dead bodies in front of the door…
Where did they go?"
As Noir moves forward, he notices someone sitting on the sofa.
Fear grips him.
"Who's there?"
The person turns around and smiles calmly.
"Gabriel.
You're awake.
Come, brush your teeth and eat.
I'll drop you off at school."
