Chapter 9 - 9 - Sugardaddies

The airport lobby was crowded with people rushing in every direction. Levi had arrived a few minutes early and was constantly staring at his phone's home screen to pass the time and avoid unnecessary interactions.

She said she arrived. Is she that irrecognizable without the filters? Levi thought, scrolling his phone.

Then he heard a slight commotion behind him. A guy who was apparently one of Angela's fans was trying to convince her to get into his sports car.

"Angela, why take a taxi? I have my own sports car. Let's go together," the fan said, pulling her hand.

She pulled her hand back immediately.

"No, thanks. It's okay, really."

"Come on, why are you being so polite to me?" the fan pressed, not getting the hint.

Levi spotted her at that moment and stood up.

Found her, he thought, making his way over.

Angela was wearing a crop top and a skirt—the outfit convinced him that she was looking for attention. Levi sighed and walked between them.

"Hey, she said no. So why are you bothering her?"

"Who're you? I'm her fan, isn't it obvious I'm helping her?" the guy shot back.

This guy, I can literally smell his lust from here, Levi thought with disgust.

Angela's eyes suddenly widened as she recognized Levi's face, and she immediately hugged his arm.

"Levi, is that you? I couldn't recognize your voice. Even your face is quite different from the social media pics."

"Well, those were from years ago. I am me though," he replied, amused by how quickly she'd switched gears.

She pulled his hand to get away from the annoying fan.

"Thanks for helping me out there," Angela said, clinging to him more as they walked away.

"I thought you'd be some rich guy in his 40s spending money online, but you're too young," Angela continued, glancing his face.

"Well, I also didn't expect you to look good offline too," Levi said with a slight smile.

"You sure know your way to talk."

Levi checked her affinity level above her head.

[ANGELA AFFINITY: 30]

A man suddenly appeared beside them, and he was quite good-looking in a professional sort of way.

"Oh, you're here. But who is this man?" the manager asked, extending his hand.

"Sir Rowan, this is Levi. One of my collegemates, although I don't even go to college, hehe. But he spent quite a lot on my broadcasts," Angela explained while introducing Levi.

"Is that so? Let's go in my car," Rowan suggested, then turned to Levi. "What car did you come in?"

"I just came on my friend's scooty."

Angela's face fell instantly. Her expression completely changed as she heard the fact that the guy who'd spent millions on her streams had arrived on a two-wheeler.

This was Levi's test. He needed to see if Angela was also just another gold digger like Ayuri.

Seeing Angela's disappointment, the manager understood the situation immediately.

"You can come together in my car then," Rowan offered to Levi.

"Oh, thank you for that."

During the ride to the restaurant, Rowan was lost in thought, trying to process what he was seeing.

This man seems to be in his early twenties. His clothes are ordinary too. Is he really the one who spent twenty-five million z on her live broadcasts? Rowan wondered internally.

He hesitated but decided to ask anyway.

"You seem to live quite simply, huh?"

"Well, that's true."

Can't tell them that even with money I don't want to waste it on clothes and all, Levi thought to himself.

Rowan nodded, then added, "Angela wouldn't have minded coming on your scooty, you know. She lives quite a normal life too. But due to her luggage, we chose to come in my car. Hope you don't feel bad, right Levi?"

"Hmm," Levi responded noncommittally.

Angela stared at him throughout the ride, trying to figure out whether he was actually rich or just playing some kind of game.

They arrived at a restaurant where Angela had booked a private room with her friends. When the door opened, Levi was immediately shocked by what he saw inside.

Among the people in their twenties, there were also guys in their forties and fifties scattered throughout the room.

So she too. Damn, so many sugar daddies. Should I have also been born a girl or something?

Everyone turned to look as Angela entered, and they immediately started praising her.

"Here comes our protagonist!"

"You become more beautiful every day!"

"You're on time, but who is this person?"

Angela gestured toward Levi.

"He's Levi. We became friends after he spent twenty million on my stream over the past few days."

What a way to introduce someone, Levi thought, shaking his head to her intro.

The wealthy men in the room were immediately intrigued by the presence of a young spender and started acting overly friendly, trying to form connections.

"Oh, you're that guy!"

"I've been wanting to meet you. Here's my business card."

"You're too young but have quite the money."

Levi stared as they all acted way too friendly, calculating how they could benefit from knowing him.

I see. She did say she was inviting me to make amends, but this bitch is trying to make me join this dumb group of money spenders who've got nowhere else to spend their money except on broadcasting girls.

The dinner started, and the conversation quickly turned to speculation about Levi's background.

One of the older men asked Rowan directly, "Mr. Rowan, you said Levi came to the airport on a scooty?"

Rowan nodded.

"Haha, this rich second generation has quite a way to deceive people. I like it. It's quite a joke," the man laughed, slapping the table.

Another man leaned back in his chair staring at him, trying to figure Levi's identity.

"If twenty million is just some chump pocket money, then your total assets must be in the billions, right? Which family are you from?"

Is he trying the move you use to get a father's contact info? Sorry to say he's dead.

Another guy pulled his chair close to Levi.

"I too know a lot of people around here. You said your surname was Allencraft, was it?"

"There isn't any family named Allencraft," another man chimed in confidently.

The old men took this as their chance to strike.

"He's a fake. Don't think of him as some rich guy. He's deceiving you."

"I knew he was fooling with such lowly clothes," another added with a sneer.

[SYSTEM - ANGELA AFFINITY: 30 → 20]

Angela's mind was racing. On the way here, I saw his mobile phone. It's not even a decent one. All it can do is calls. Is he taking some revenge because I threw him out of my live that night? But still, there's a chance he's legitimate.

She leaned toward Levi and put her hand on his thigh beneath the table, slowly touching it up and down in what she thought was a supportive yet seductive gesture.

"Maybe he's hiding his real name. We don't know a lot of conglomerates outside this city, right?" Angela said, defending him while simultaneously trying to extract information.

She's taking my side?

Levi thought for a moment before realizing the truth. But she's also trying to make me reveal my real identity, smartass.

He picked up his glass of wine and took a slow sip.

"I'm not from some small company owner's family. But I can say I alone have more money than most of the top people of this country."

The old men burst out laughing, completely dismissing his claim.

"Haha, still pretending. Tell me honestly, did you win some lottery and spent it all on her? Or did you steal?"

"That's right. Maybe you just wanted a one-night stand or something."

What are these idiots saying in front of the girl herself?

Another man decided to press harder.

"So tell me, other than that scooty, what car do you have then?" he asked with a smirk.

Levi pulled Angela closer with one arm around her chest, drawing her tight against him.

"Car? I've got a BMW.... and an Aston Martin. Well, that's for now."

Well, now I've got an idea to spend money, Levi thought with a slight smile.

He leaned in close to Angela's face eyes locked on hers.

"Tell me, what car do you like? I will buy it right now."

The entire table erupted in laughter.

"Boy, look where you put your hands!"

"You think this is some shopping market to buy anything right away?"

"Don't you think you should stop pretending now, man?"

[SYSTEM - ANGELA AFFINITY: 20 → 10]

Angela leaned in on him, her eyes searching his face to test whether he could actually do what he claimed.

"Really? I like the one called Audi A6. If you give it to me, I will give you a gift too," Angela said with a real fake smile.

Crazy, really. On the surface, you'd think she's truly caring, but seeing her affinity, I know this bitch's acting skills are top-notch.

He stood up from his chair.

"Well, I'll go buy it then."

He left the restaurant while they all kept laughing at him, completely convinced he was just another delusional fool.
