Cherreads

Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Shiki: I’m not a ghost!

Shiki looked intently upon hearing this and found that they indeed had a strong seasonal feel.

Spring uses peach blossoms. Cherry blossoms, as Inazuma's representative plant, are used too much, so Ogura Mio simply replaced them with peach blossoms.

Summer is lotuses, autumn is maple leaves, and winter is plum blossoms. Each set chooses the plant that best represents Inazuma's season.

If it weren't for the seclusion decree, surely every tourist coming to Inazuma would buy one for themselves or as a gift for female friends.

Unfortunately, the seclusion decree had a devastating impact on tourism, so now Ogura Mio could only target local residents for sales.

But don't Inazuma locals already know about their own clothing? This kind of furisode can only be used as formal attire for official occasions, and how many families frequently need formal wear? No wonder sales were dismal.

It cannot be said that Ogura Mio's design had problems; it can only be said that she chose the wrong time. If it had been a few years earlier, before the seclusion decree began, it surely would have sold well.

Shiki took off the blue tomesode she was wearing, leaving only the undergarment, the juban, and then, with Aunt Yuko's help, changed into the furisode with the theme of "Spring."

It must be said that having someone help you change clothes is truly enjoyable, especially with something as troublesome as a kimono.

Shiki didn't have to do anything at all, only needing to raise her hands at the appropriate times.

After tying a large bow at the back, Aunt Yuko let out a long breath. Although she had been in this line of work for over twenty years, dressing someone in a furisode was still as tiring as it was in the beginning.

"Miss Ryougi, how does it feel?"

"Hmm… a little tight…"

Shiki touched the stiff obi. Indeed, the tomesode used for daily wear was more comfortable; at least its obi wasn't rigid.

"There's no helping it. If it were looser, it would easily slip down. Miss Ryougi will need to get used to it. With your beauty, I believe you'll certainly attend many grand occasions in the future."

"Forget it, I don't want to go."

Aunt Yuko coiled Shiki's short hair into a bun at the back of her head, then secured it with a white-to-pink rose hair clip, and finally added some sparkling little trinkets to it.

"Done!" Aunt Yuko put her hands on her hips and admired her work. Indeed, if a person is beautiful, they look good no matter what.

But beauty is innate and cannot be envied. All one can do is maintain a good figure later in life, lest they have no advantages at all.

However… her figure was also very good, which was quite despairing.

Alas.

Looking at the tranquil girl sitting in the chair, Aunt Yuko sighed inwardly. Perhaps only the Young Miss of the Kamisato Clan, Kamisato Ayaka, known as the Frostflake Heron, could compare to her!

Shiki looked at herself in the mirror and found it somewhat amusing. Was this… considered a second ascension?

Thump thump thump

Just then, there was a knock on the door, and then Ogura Mio's voice came from outside.

"Miss Ryougi? How's the changing going? The set and the Kamera are ready!" Ogura Mio said, standing at the door, but strangely, the other party didn't reply.

'What's going on?'

Just as she felt curious, the door was suddenly pushed open with a whoosh.

A faint, subtle fragrance wafted into her nose. As the owner of a clothing store, Ogura Mio had seen countless people, but this was the first time she had encountered someone so beautiful and uniquely elegant.

Before changing, the girl with her hair down gave her a somewhat neutral feeling; if it weren't for her clothes clearly being a female kimono, she might not have been able to tell the difference.

But when her hair was no longer loose and she changed into a splendid furisode, the feminine softness within the girl completely Bloomed.

Gazing at the girl's elegant face, Ogura Mio admitted that her heart was stirred. The other's beauty transcended gender. It was a pity she was already married; otherwise, she would have indulged herself for once.

"Let's go, aren't we taking pictures?"

It wasn't until the other's clear, cold voice reached her that Ogura Mio snapped back to reality.

"Oh, right, photos!"

Shiki gracefully followed Ogura Mio to the photo studio. The items inside were all fake, making it easy for subsequent changes, as spring, summer, autumn, and winter couldn't always have the same scenery.

"Miss Ryougi, can I ask you to walk onto this small bridge now?" Ogura Mio said, holding the Kamera.

"This?" Shiki slowly walked onto the small bridge.

"Yes! Look slightly downwards, no need to look at the lens, then smile, just a gentle smile, yes, just like that!"

Shiki's eyes drooped slightly, and a beautiful curve appeared at the corner of her mouth. Her headpiece gently swayed with these movements, and the moment it stopped, Ogura Mio quickly pressed the shutter.

Click!

This stunning scene was captured by Ogura Mio. The lighting and composition were both excellent; it was hard to imagine this was someone new to photography.

"Miss Ryougi, I think you're going to become famous in Inazuma City…"

Ogura Mio looked at the developed photo from the Kamera, lost in thought. If this photo were used as the cover for Ogura Shop's new magazine issue…

Well, she dared not imagine it. Besides all the unmarried men in Inazuma City, even some unmarried girls would probably go crazy.

No one could resist Miss Ryougi's charm!

In just a few minutes, Ogura Mio became a loyal fan of Shiki.

After shooting "Spring," there were still "Summer," "Autumn," and "Winter." Shiki spent a whole afternoon at Ogura Shop before finishing.

When she walked out of Ogura Shop, the sky was already dyed red by the setting sun. Most people would surely think of staying in Inazuma City, as monsters are always exceptionally active at night.

And sometimes, people are even more terrifying than monsters.

However, Shiki had a Teleport Waypoint, so she didn't have to worry about traveling at night. In just a breath, she could reach Konda Village directly.

So Shiki, holding her perfectly intact clothes, walked to an unmanned corner, and her entire being vanished into thin air, as if she had never been there.

And at that very moment, in the center of Konda Village, Shiki suddenly appeared without warning.

However, this time there was a slight mishap; a small child saw her.

The little boy rubbed his eyes in disbelief. What happened? How did someone suddenly appear here?

Could it be…

The little boy suddenly thought of something, and his small face instantly turned ashen. He scrambled back to his home.

Shiki: "…"

No, was she that scary? Or did she look like a vengeful spirit?
