Chapter 102 - Chapter 100:A Sudden Whim

Chapter 100: A Sudden Whim

Otonashi Chiya, Reze, and Shingetsu all finished changing back into their military uniforms in their respective locker rooms. Even after Shingetsu put her uniform back on and habitually tucked her long hair into her military cap—looking no different than usual—Chiya's impression of her had changed forever.

He could no longer view Shingetsu as a man. Every time he looked at her face, his mind automatically conjured the elegant, graceful silhouette of her in a swimsuit.

"Actually, why don't we just buy these swimsuits and take them with us? It saves us the trouble of renting them again next time," Chiya suggested to the other two. The quality of the swimwear provided by the center was quite good, so buying them was worth it.

Shingetsu gave a slight nod.

"I think that's more convenient too. Speaking of which, when we have time, let's go to a specialized swimwear shop!" Reze proposed.

"We'll see," Chiya replied with a nod. He then turned to the staff member. "We'll take these three sets. Calculate how much we owe you."

"Ah, just take them. There's no charge," the staff member explained. "Since we recycle rented swimwear as scrap fabric after a single use, they're essentially disposable. It makes no difference to us if you take them."

"Alright," Chiya said.

As the three of them left, the staff member was still in a state of disbelief. The "Tsar" was actually a girl in disguise? No wonder her face is so refined and beautiful.

Next, Chiya continued the tour, showing Reze the remaining parts of the department. By the time evening approached, they had finally finished.

"That's it for today. Time for dinner," Chiya announced. For him, this was a relief. Acting along with Reze for so long had been exhausting.

Shingetsu nodded. She had long since had enough of Reze and set off toward her own quarters. Reze didn't say anything but silently followed behind Chiya. She waited until Shingetsu was a good distance away before speaking.

"Master, even though I know where the cafeteria is, I haven't ordered food there yet. Could you show me the ropes?"

With Shingetsu finally gone, Reze saw a golden opportunity. No one would be around to interrupt her now.

"I rarely eat at the cafeteria lately. How about you just come to my dorm? I'll make an extra portion of dinner for you," Chiya said bluntly. He was tired of the charade, so his speech had become much more direct. His palate was quite picky, and he didn't want to suffer through cafeteria food he disliked just for the sake of the act.

"Eh?" Reze's face lit up with surprise. "Is Master serious? Inviting a girl over so directly?"

"Just say if you're coming or not. I'm not eating at the cafeteria; most of the stuff there doesn't suit my taste," Chiya said flatly.

"Ah... if you don't like the cafeteria food, I certainly won't force you, Master," Reze said.

She continued to follow Chiya like a naive, easily fooled young girl being led straight into someone's home. Of course, Chiya had no such ulterior motives; she was, after all, a Soviet operative. Given Reze's strength and methods, anyone besides Chiya who tried anything untoward would likely be blown to bits.

Chiya simply didn't want to go to the cafeteria. He wasn't particularly bothered by Reze; in the original story, she was a tragic figure—modified into a weapon by the military as a child and raised as an operative with no freedom. If possible, he hoped to uncover the high command's true intentions peacefully.

Before long, they arrived at Chiya's dormitory.

"So this is where Master lives?" Reze looked around with feigned curiosity.

"Make yourself at home. I'm going to prepare dinner," Chiya told her. He put on an apron and walked into the kitchen as he always did.

Reze didn't have anything better to do, so she followed him.

"By the way, what do you like to eat? I'll see what ingredients I have in the fridge," Chiya asked.

"Wait, are you for real?" Reze looked genuinely surprised. "Master, you actually intend to cook dinner for me?"

She had assumed Chiya had invited her over with "intentions," which would have played perfectly into her hands. After all, a man and a woman alone in a room usually meant one thing... but looking at the situation, Chiya really just wanted to cook?

"What else? Didn't I already tell you?" Chiya said calmly.

"Fine then! I'll help Master out!" Reze took another apron from the wall and put it on.

This time, it wasn't an act, nor was it part of her plan. On a sudden whim, she simply wanted to try cooking dinner with him. After all, she was bored and had nothing else to do.
