Chapter 62 - Chapter 60:Susanoo -Scale Sword Of Wrath

Chapter 60: Susanoo-Scale Sword of Wrath

Since the theory had formed, Otonashi Chiya intended to test it immediately. He raised his right hand, fingers splayed, and the Susanoo mirrored his movement perfectly.

With a flick of his will, blood-red light flickered in his palm, and the Susanoo simultaneously radiated a blinding crimson glow. However, the Sword of Wrath did not appear in his own hand; instead, it manifested in the Susanoo's right hand, scaled up to match its massive proportions—a blade over twenty meters long.

The Blood Throne did not manifest as it usually did because it had already merged with the giant sword. Aside from the eerie aura and the mysterious runes from the throne's fusion, the blade was now covered in a pale blue "cloak" made of Chiya's solidified life force, matching the color of the Susanoo.

He swung the blade!

A scarlet, crescent-shaped energy wave—nearly tall enough to pierce the heavens—erupted from the Susanoo-scale Sword of Wrath. The wave was coated in a layer of cyan-blue matter, effectively "enchanted" by his vitality to amplify both the destructive power and the defensive integrity of the attack!

In an instant—

The entire yakuza headquarters collapsed under the earth-shattering force.

"BOOM—!!!"

The building, which had been standing solid only seconds ago, was reduced to a field of rubble. This was actually the result of Chiya holding back; he had confined the destruction to the perimeter of the headquarters. Had he not, everything—buildings and living beings alike—within a thousand-meter radius would have been obliterated, and that was a conservative estimate.

[Ding! Host has activated the achievement "Hundred-Man Slayer." Reward: 10 Attribute Points!]

Aside from Chiya, his Susanoo, and the Wrath Devil, there was no sign of life left within the ruins. Several hundred yakuza members had been completely consumed by that apocalyptic sword wave.

The next stage of the achievement would likely be "Thousand-Man Slayer," but there weren't a thousand people in this building, and he wasn't about to go on a killing spree just to complete a milestone.

"Seems I... overdid it a little..."

Chiya felt over half of his physical energy and eye power vanish instantly. The long-absent side effects and the stinging pain in his eyes returned. He immediately allocated his saved attribute points.

[Ding! Allocation complete: Vitality +33!]

[Vitality: 198]

With the points added, he felt slightly better. A good rest later would sort him out.

"If I just push Susanoo to the second form, it's taxing but manageable. But using the Sword of Wrath at the same time is almost too much to handle..." Chiya analyzed internally.

As for the third form or higher, he had no plans to push for them yet. The second form offered the best balance and cost-efficiency; there was no need to endure massive strain for further advancement. Ultimately, his "Vitality" attribute simply wasn't high enough yet.

Once his Vitality surpassed 1,000, he figured he could probably walk around in his "Gundam" every day, as long as he didn't trigger the Perfect form.

Meanwhile, the surrounding police and the members of Special Division 1 stood frozen, staring at the collapsed skyscraper with their jaws dropped.

Could a single devil hunter truly level such a massive building in an instant?! This was nothing short of a miracle.

As the dust from the collapsing building began to settle, the second form of Otonashi Chiya's Susanoo revealed itself to the crowd. Because Chiya's physical body was obscured by the debris, the onlookers could only see a towering, pale blue giant standing amidst the ruins.

"Is... is that a devil? How can a devil be that massive?!"

"But didn't the people from Special Division 1 say their Vice-Captain was in there? Could this be his devil power?!"

"How is that possible?! No matter how strong a devil hunter is, they shouldn't be this exaggerated..."

According to historical records, the Gun Devil that made landfall in Japan years ago was colossal—dozens, if not hundreds, of meters tall. But those were just records; they hadn't seen it with their own eyes. This cyan colossus was the tallest "devil" they had ever witnessed, and even the longsword in its hand appeared to be at least twenty meters long!

The members of Special Division 1 were equally shell-shocked. They stood frozen, staring up at the giant for a long time, unable to process the scale of what they were seeing.

A few members who had previously accompanied Chiya on the Earthworm Devil mission quickly recognized the weapon. Wasn't that longsword a giant version of the blade the Vice-Captain usually carried? This confirmed their suspicions: the giant was indeed the manifestation of the Vice-Captain's power!

"I remember now! That sword is exactly like the one Vice-Captain Otonashi uses!"

"I remember too! This giant is definitely the Vice-Captain's power!"

The realization finally hit them. They now understood what the Vice-Captain meant when he told them to leave to avoid being "caught in the crossfire." It wasn't that the building contained something dangerous to him; it was that they were so weak he was afraid of accidentally crushing them like ants while unleashing his power!

They were filled with complex emotions, unable to tell if they were simply too weak or if Vice-Captain Otonashi was just brokenly overpowered.

Beyond the police and the devil hunters, civilians in the surrounding area had also been startled by the disaster-like commotion. They gazed in terror at the ruins and the pale blue giant standing within them. Seeing the police and Public Safety cordons, the civilians assumed a high-level devil had descended, leading to widespread panic and unease.

However, at that moment, Chiya deactivated the Susanoo, and the giant vanished instantly. He had already located the Gun Devil flesh fragments—and there were quite a lot of them. For a gang to hoard this much was a severe felony. Had he not intentionally held back his power, the fragments might have been destroyed along with the building, leaving no evidence to condemn the rest of the syndicate. Of course, if he had truly lost himself to bloodlust, he wouldn't have cared about evidence anyway.

Using his "Intangibility," Chiya phased through layer after layer of broken walls and rubble, walking out from the ruins with a blank expression. Looking at the crowd of officers and team members whose faces were a tapestry of shock, he simply said:

"The extermination is complete. Everyone, pack up and go home."
