Chapter 58: He's Simply a Monster!

Otonashi Chiya led the charge at the very front, with the entire Special Division 1 following closely behind. While being at the forefront was the most dangerous position, the team had absolute faith in their Vice-Captain's strength; they knew the only safety they needed to worry about was their own.

Vice-Captain Otonashi had advised them beforehand to come fully armed and armored. Consequently, every member was equipped with bulletproof vests, ballistic helmets, and shields, minimizing the risk of being taken out by a stray bullet or a hidden sniper. In a head-on confrontation, their devil powers provided both offense and defense, making them largely unafraid of firearms.

As the spearhead of the assault, Chiya naturally drew the bulk of the syndicate's fire. The yakuza members unleashed a hail of lead from every type of firearm imaginable, the bullets flying toward him as if they cost nothing at all.

Chiya could clearly see the trajectory of every single round, but he didn't even bother to dodge. Instead, he simply activated his "Intangibility" (Kamui).

His body took on a slight, blurred distortion, hovering between reality and illusion. Every bullet passed harmlessly through him as if he were a ghost. The yakuza gunmen immediately realized something was wrong. They had fired hundreds of rounds, and the kid at the front hadn't flinched once—yet he remained completely unscathed!

"What the hell is this kid? Why can't my bullets hit him? Is this his devil power?!"

"Dammit! Are devil powers really this strong? He's completely immune to bullets!"

"I don't believe in ghosts! Everyone, focus fire on that kid! Put him down!"

The yakuza intensified their barrage, concentrating nearly all their firepower on Chiya. If he hadn't activated his intangibility and refused to dodge, his body would have been riddled with thousands of bullets by now. However, no matter how fierce the fire, they could not stop Chiya as he approached them, step by expressionless step.

As Chiya drew closer, he unsheathed his tachi, the tip of the blade dragging against the floor as he advanced. The yakuza's bravado instantly crumbled. They began to feel a primal terror toward this youth; no matter how much they fired, they couldn't touch him, and his cold, chilling gaze was enough to freeze their blood.

"No—stay back!"

"Aaaah!! Keep firing! Don't let him get any closer!"

But it was useless. In their frantic panic, two or three yakuza members were accidentally shot by their own comrades as they blindly mashed their triggers. When Chiya was within ten meters of the nearest group, he suddenly exploded with terrifying speed. He lunged forward, decapitating several yakuza members in a single flash of steel.

Seeing their companions' heads hit the floor, the rest of the gunmen were paralyzed with fear.

"Monster! He's a monster!"

Some dropped their weapons and fled in a panic, but where could they go? They were either cut down by the other members of Special Division 1 or gunned down by the police cordon waiting outside the building. Those who didn't run stood frozen, lost in a daze of shock. How could a devil hunter be this powerful? This was beyond human—he was more terrifying than a devil!

Although Chiya had deactivated his intangibility, the few yakuza still brave enough to fire were so few that he could dodge their bullets with ease. His "Intangibility" wasn't a permanent passive; it was a skill he could toggle. Once activated, it could last for up to five minutes, and toggling it off and back on again would refresh that duration—just like the mechanics in Naruto.

To put it simply: if Intangibility were a purely passive skill, Obito would never have been hit by Minato's Flying Raijin. Minato succeeded specifically by exploiting the opening that occurred when Obito deactivated his Intangibility to attack.

(Note: This explanation is just to clarify the setting and avoid debate; it doesn't really matter as it doesn't change the fact that the protagonist is invincible!)

Of course, Obito's combat experience at that time wasn't yet seasoned, and his mastery of Kamui was incomplete. Otonashi Chiya, possessing Dual Kamui, is naturally stronger than someone with a single eye, and the weaknesses of Kamui are minimized to the point of being negligible.

At this moment, Chiya darted through the air, dodging bullets while rapidly cutting down the yakuza. His silhouette moved like a phantom, and his speed was so staggering that these ordinary humans could barely track his movements. They could do nothing but wait in endless despair as their heads were severed!

In a matter of moments, only a dozen or so yakuza remained alive on the first floor. They were completely broken, lacking even the courage to run. Their minds collapsed; some wet themselves in terror, while others knelt on the ground, frantically kowtowing to Chiya and begging for mercy.

However, there was no chance Chiya would let them go. His eyes held not a shred of pity, and his freezing expression radiated a heaven-shattering killing intent!

In the blink of an eye—

Thud! Thud! Thud!

A dozen heads hit the floor simultaneously!

Now, only one yakuza member remained, kneeling in absolute despair, his entire body trembling with fear.

"Wait for me a moment," Chiya said, turning back to the members of Special Division 1.

That single glance, full of icy murderous intent, actually startled his teammates. In their daily lives, they knew Vice-Captain Otonashi as a bright, handsome, and easy-going person. This was the first time they had witnessed the terrifying side he revealed when fighting in earnest.

As soon as he finished speaking, Chiya used his right eye's Kamui to transfer both himself and the sole surviving yakuza into the Kamui Dimension.

"Aaaagh!"

The agonizing sensation of spatial distortion left the yakuza member in pain. He looked up, trying to figure out what was happening, only to realize he was in a completely foreign world.

It was a mysterious, sunless space that nonetheless had visibility. The internal structure was monotonous, consisting of countless gray pillars that stretched endlessly toward the horizon. The man stared in a daze, having no idea what had just occurred.

Suddenly, a cold voice drifted into his ear.

"Speak. Where are the Gun Devil fragments hidden? How many of your people are upstairs, and how many of them are devil hunters?"

The man jumped in fright, shuffling backward while still on his knees. He turned his head and locked eyes with Chiya's eerie, blood-red gaze. He had long since been terrified out of his wits by this "monster" of a youth, and he began to stammer incoherently, "I... I... I...!"

Seeing this, Chiya didn't give the man a second to recover. He pressed the tip of his tachi directly against the man's brow.

"Are you calm now?"
