"Why won't you just die already?" I snarl through clenched teeth, blood streaming from the jagged wound on my wrist. The crimson liquid pools between my fingers as I press down hard on the injury. I've managed to heal myself from near-fatal blood loss before. I can do it again. I just need to figure out how.
"You cannot destroy me within my own realm," she responds, her lips curving into a chilling smile. The djinn stands before me draped entirely in black, her hair slicked back with an otherworldly precision. Her eyes pulse with an eerie green glow, and the darkness radiating from her form makes the air itself feel heavy and suffocating. She's absolutely right, and I should have realized that hurling a splintered broom handle at her would be far too simple a solution.
