James's palm rests warm against my growing belly as we gaze into each other's eyes for the camera. Whatever joke he just whispered has me dissolving into genuine laughter, and in this captured moment, we look blissfully ordinary. Just another vampire-witch couple anticipating their first child, as if supernatural pregnancies happen every day, without looming threats from celestial beings and hellish forces threatening to tear our world apart.
This photograph will serve as my first real pregnancy reveal to the public. My expanding bump has become impossible to conceal anyway. Vivien forwards me her proposed caption for approval, and warmth spreads through my chest as I read her words.
