I tap the reload button on my Apple News app for the third time, watching the spinning wheel mock me with its endless rotation.
"Have you ever thought about getting internet access in this place?" I ask, setting my phone aside with obvious frustration.
Gideon glances up from the mountain of paperwork scattered across his desk, a knowing smirk playing at his lips. "Trust me, keeping social media out of here makes my life infinitely easier. Picture this: teenage witches Snapchatting their way through potions class."
"Don't forget the selfies in the great hall," Ophelia chimes in, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "We both know if Instagram had existed during your school days, you would have documented every moment of that poltergeist wedding fiasco."
I grab another biscuit from the plate between us, trading my useless phone for carbs. "Maybe. But mostly so I could tag Phoenix in every single post and watch him squirm."
