"Well, if I am leaving, Savannah is leaving too. Which means you will be known as an heirless wolf."
"Hah, and you think that could affect me?"
"Chairman, let's think things straight. If you conceive a child now, you will be a subject of laughter. If you don't, you will lose the other packs' respect. We both know what requirements are passed onto the leaders."
The smug expression on Savannah's father's face turned cold. His lips pressed into a thin line and he wasn't looking down on me anymore. He was listening carefully. I pressed on.
"Think about those years with Savannah gone. I am sure they twisted that into a weakness."
"And her, coming back with a grown child, won't be twisted?"
