Kaito hummed joyously to himself.

"Hmm, I guess i will add all three points to strength. No wait I am low in stamina, guess I have no other choice."

Kaito invested them on Stamina next.

Tti-ring

"Mmh, aah! I almost forgot, the system promised if when I reach level 15, other tabs are available for access."

[Congratulations You have acquired full access to the system]

[You can now by items and accessories by accessing the Shop tab]

[Scanning bloodline sequence....]

"Huh?!"

[Thank you for waiting]

[You are now to choose your core-trait]

"Wait whaaaaaaat!?"

Kaito has never heard of a person randomly choosing their own trait like that. This has to be an error. No it's not, the system had offered him alot. It had kept him alive, it wants him strong, he has to believe it no matter what.

[Possible Core-traits are listed below]

[Please choose carefully, Once chosen there is no turning back]

[Exploding Star]

[Atomic Charge]

[Blue Energy]

His eyes narrowed as he scanned the options. Exploding star sounded flashy but simple. Atomic charge.. vague and too situational. But "Blue Energy", the name alone resonated.

[Core-trait: Blue Energy]

[Type: Pure energy manipulation]

[Effect: The user can generate and channel a unique blue energy, that can be condensed into offensive blasts. Passive energy recovery accelerates under pressure.]

[Warning: Improper use may cause fatigue or skin burnout.]

Kaito's lips parted, breath catching his throat. Every step he had taken in the corrupted lands, it could all be harnessed and amplified through this power. He could generate fire concentrated energy blasts to protect himself. With this power, the chances of survival are undeniably high.

Tti-ring

[Core-trait Selected: Blue Energy]

[Active Skills: None]

[Note: Skills can be unlock through training]

The air around him circulated clockwise direction, accelerating from slow to fast. Lifting him of the ground slowly as his body responded jerkly without warning. Surprise invaded turning his face wide shocked with disbelief. Dark-blue energy surrounded him unpermitted, floating when on until the newly blue energy dissolved with a powerful light exploding in the entire cave. Slowly landing in the ground with a feeling that pulse inside.

"W..what just happened..?"

Tti-ring.

[New Skill Available: Energy Blasts- Shoot concentrated energy blast at enemies.]

[Costs: 5 Core Energy]

[New Skill Available: Double Dash- Accelerate twice as normal speed]

[Costs: 5 Core Energy]

"Double dash..? That sounds familiar."

It did. Double dash is globally known and used by most people who posses core-traits. A move that gives the user twice the speed they possess, most people who are experts in synchronizing with this move are athletes. World record holder Harry Jonathan with a lasting record of twelve seconds became the Olympic champion of 400 meters.

"Aah!! This move will come in handy."

Tri-ring

"What now?"

He forgot about the newly unlocked *Shop tab* since it's now reminding him by automatically opening, he has no other choice but to see what's wanting to be bought. The screen offered him, rows upon rows of items, weapons and accessories displayed like jewels on a merchant's stall, though this "stall" existed only within the system's interface.

First section listed *Weapons*, but most were beyond his current level, locked with requirements he didn't yet meet. There were blades, spears and axes. Some were marked for level 20 or above, glowing red with inaccessibility. Kaito's eyes lingered on them, imagining what it would feel like to hold one. But he needed smaller, practical tools that meet his current stated, first.

The next section listed *Accessories*, and here possibilities opened wider, Rings that promised vitality, amulets that improve stamina, sneakers that increased agility.

Scrolling further, he found *Consumables* vials and potions with colored liquids and rations that promised to stave off hunger for hours. One vial in particular had a unique purple hue.

[Infusion Restores 20 Core Energy.]

He made a mental note, the hunger and fatigue that had plagued him for too long could be mitigated. He leaned back pressing his back against the cave wall.

"I guess this is what the system meant by helping me through out my journey," he mutted, eyes sweeping over the tabs. " ..so cool."

Then something caught his gaze.

A ring. Hovering and slowly rotating. Dark metallic band, a dark purple gem in the center accompanied by two open jaws.

He leaned closer, squinting as the item's description slowly unfolded before his eyes.

[Way-finders Ring]

Type: Accessory- Teleportation Ring

Effect: Enables spatial displacement to random locations

Cost:300 Corrupted Souls

Level Requirement: 15

His breath caught in his throat, eyes widening. Teleportation? The idea was almost intoxication freedom from this nightmare world, the ability to escape, to go home.

"... A way out,"

His mind raced, all he though about was home, his sister, people, real people not monsters trying 24/7 to bring him down. Haruka, his mother, the sky, real blue sky, the sun, moon and the stars.

His hand trembled as he reached towards the ring.

But then he saw the cost. 300 Corrupted Souls.

"Corrupted Souls, what does that mean?"

He wondered what does the term "Corrupted Souls" meant.

"Only if I read the manual." he muttered, voice shaking as his hand dropped slowly to his side.

He imagine the ring in his finger, the way it could instantly sent him home. But without a way to earn this souls, it's just a taunting image.

He scrolled the shop again, trying to see if maybe there was another way the system had hinted at for collecting souls, but there was nothing. Every item he looked at felt smaller, less significant in comparison because the Way-finders Ring represented freedom he didn't yet possess for the last four weeks.

"I don't even know how to get them."

The system wanted three hundred souls. That alone broke him, he wasn't sure what this corrupted souls are, but the way it sounded might have something to do with "Corrupted Core Spirits."

"That might be it."

The ring wasn't just an item, well at least for now, it became a goal that might end his nightmare once and for all.

"It's about time I go hunting."
