Chapter 56 - Bonus - Chapter 55 - The Legacy of Sand

Chiba took out the three secret technique scrolls and entered the Deduction Space of his system, combining its calculating power with his own overwhelming strength to begin a comprehensive analysis.

He started with Jiton (Magnet Release), a Kekkei Genkai that had long been regarded as mysterious and nearly impossible to replicate.

In truth, Kekkei Genkai could be broadly divided into two fundamentally different categories.

The first type was bloodline mutation, abilities awakened through genetic inheritance or rare mutations passed down within a family. Such powers could only be transmitted through blood. Without cell transplantation, artificial fusion, or extreme external intervention, it was impossible for an ordinary person to awaken them through effort alone.

The most iconic examples were ocular powers: the Byakugan, the Sharingan, and similar dojutsu.

Hashirama Senju's Wood Release also belonged to this category.

Likewise, the Ice Release Kekkei Genkai awakened by Chiba's own Yuki Clan  followed this same principle.

The second type, however, was entirely different.

It was power created through research, through deep exploration of chakra nature transformation and its interaction with the physical world. These abilities were not inherently bound to bloodlines and, in theory, could be learned, taught, and passed on through understanding rather than inheritance.

The most representative example of this was the Jiton (Magnet Release) techniques developed by the Sandaime Kazekage.

Even more advanced than that was Dust Release, the Kekkei Tōta created by the Nidaime Tsuchikage, Mū,a power that surpassed Kekkei Genkai altogether by fusing three chakra nature transformations into one.

After thoroughly reviewing the Jiton (Magnet Release) scroll, Chiba gained profound new insights.

In essence, all ninjutsu in the shinobi world was merely a method of utilizing chakra.

Jiton (Magnet Release), for instance, was nothing more than converting chakra into magnetic force, allowing the user to control iron sand, gold dust, and similar materials.

For shinobi who already possessed wind, lightning, water, fire, or earth affinities, this concept was not fundamentally alien.

What was rare was not the theory, but the success.

Very few people had the talent, perception, and control required to develop such techniques.

But Chiba was different.

Within a short time, he completely unraveled every principle behind Jiton (Magnet Release). Through systematic deduction, optimization, and refinement, he pushed it to a level that surpassed both the Sandaime Kazekage and Rasa.

In simple terms,

The Jiton (Magnet Release) now mastered by Chiba was stronger than anyone else's in history.

Next came Sand Manipulation.

This ability had been created by the Second Kazekage, Reto, through his research into Shukaku, the One-Tail. Puppet techniques had also been invented and elevated under his influence.

In truth, almost every Second Kage was a genius of innovation.

Not only Tobirama Senju.

The Nidaime Mizukage Gengetsu Hōzuki, the Nidaime Tsuchikage Mū, and the Nidaime Kazekage Reto had all left behind revolutionary creations.

The sole exception was the Nidaime Raikage, tragically killed by the Gold and Silver Brothers before he could fully display his brilliance.

Sand Manipulation itself originated from Shukaku's power.

In theory, it shared the same conceptual foundation as Jiton (Magnet Release). The difference was that chakra was not converted into magnetic force, but into an intimate affinity with sand, allowing it to be controlled as if it were an extension of the body.

Sunagakure, surrounded by endless desert and empowered by Shukaku's nature, was the perfect environment for such an ability.

For Chiba, acquiring this technique posed no real difficulty.

The real challenge lay elsewhere.

Kirigakure was an island nation.

Creating and manipulating sand in a land dominated by ocean and mist was a far greater obstacle.

Chiba let out a faint, helpless smile.

As for the final art,Puppet Technique,it had even fewer restrictions.

It was not tied to physique or bloodline at all. In theory, anyone could practice it.

Of course, puppet masters had their own thresholds.

First was extreme precision in chakra control. Without it, controlling chakra threads in combat was impossible.

Second, and far more critical, was the ability to create puppets themselves. This was the true ceiling that determined a puppet master's strength.

Kankurō's puppets,Karasu, Kuroari, and Sanshōuo,were all creations of Sasori of the Red Sand.

Even a genius like Chiyo had relied on Sasori's craftsmanship. The puppets "Father" and "Mother" she used against him were his works. As for the White Secret Technique: Chikamatsu's Ten Puppets, they were inherited from Monzaemon's lineage.

From this alone, one could imagine how difficult it was to create puppets that were both personally compatible and overwhelmingly powerful.

Still,

Talent could be discovered.

Children could be identified early and trained methodically.

With time, the limitations could be broken.

After pushing all three of Sunagakure's great secret arts to their theoretical peak, Chiba did not hoard them.

Instead,

He spread them throughout Kirigakure.

Students from the Ninja Academy, as well as active shinobi, were allowed to undergo aptitude testing for Jiton (Magnet Release), Sand Manipulation, and Puppet Technique.

Those with talent would receive systematic training.

For the first time in its history, Kirigakure was not cultivating clans,

It was cultivating systems.

And with that, the village began an unprecedented explosion of growth.

Under Chiba's direct supervision, Kirigakure underwent a transformation unlike anything in its history.

Three entirely new shinobi divisions were formally established.

The Jiton (Magnet Release) Division.

The Sand Manipulation Division.

And the Puppet Division.

These were not elite units reserved for ancient bloodlines, nor secret techniques hoarded by a handful of families.

They were structured, teachable systems of power, methods through which an ordinary shinobi could, through effort and discipline, step onto a path once thought inaccessible.

At Chiba's instruction, these arts were openly promoted throughout Kirigakure.

From academy students still learning the basics of chakra control, to seasoned ninja hardened by years of combat, everyone was given the opportunity to undergo aptitude evaluations for the three secret arts and, if qualified, enter specialized training.

For the first time, power in Kirigakure was no longer decided at birth.

All three divisions were personally guided, overseen, and commanded by Chiba himself.

He did not merely issue orders from above,he involved himself directly in the curriculum, the training methods, and the practical application of each technique. As a result, progress was swift and unmistakable.

In a remarkably short period of time, Kirigakure began producing a new generation of elite shinobi.

Not prodigies elevated by clan prestige, but specialists forged through understanding, repetition, and refinement.

Among them, Gonbee, who successfully mastered Jiton (Magnet Release) through training alone, stood out the most. Recognizing both his strength and stability, Chiba personally appointed him as Captain of the Jiton (Magnet Release) Division.

Likewise, Ao, whose control and affinity for sand manipulation surpassed expectations, was placed in charge as Captain of the Sand Control Division.

As for the Puppet Division, the position of captain fell to Chūkichi.

His chakra control was precise, his perception sharp, and his temperament well-suited for the patience and focus required of a puppet master. Under Chiba's judgment, he became the one responsible for guiding the division forward.

Chiba entrusted Chūkichi with the puppets once owned by Granny Chiyo, placing them under his protection.

But these relics were not meant to be preserved as symbols of Sunagakure's legacy.

They were to be studied.

Disassembled.

Understood.

Chiba ordered the entire Puppet Division to analyze their mechanisms and principles, using them as a foundation to develop new puppets suited to Kirigakure's own combat doctrine.

At the same time, Chiba personally crafted a series of puppets of his own.

These were not masterpieces meant to showcase individuality.

They were standardized combat units, balanced, efficient, and designed to be replicated.

He named them "Kirigakure Operatives", assigning them serial numbers rather than personal names.

They were not extensions of a single ninja.

They were extensions of the village itself.

Notably, Hotaru of the Tsuchigumo Clan also discovered her natural aptitude for puppetry during this process. Drawn by both curiosity and talent, she joined the Puppet Division and officially stepped onto the path of a puppet master.

Watching her animated expression as she guided her puppet through training combat,

Chiba allowed himself a faint smile.

In her focus, in her excitement, he saw something more than individual growth.

He saw Kirigakure's future taking shape.

A village no longer shackled by bloodlines.

No longer fractured by clan interests.

But one built upon systems, shared knowledge, and collective strength.

And for the first time,

That future felt solid, tangible, and within reach.
