Chapter 115 - Chapter 115 You're in Big Trouble

Chapter 115 You're in Big Trouble

Before making this call, Finney Hellseg had considered many ways to greet him.

He thought about whether to greet him casually first, and then gradually bring up the topic of Asgard.

Or perhaps to start with the topic of Captain America, and then gradually lead to the Tesseract.

But after thinking about it for a long time, he felt that none of these methods suited Nick Fury's impression of him, so he finally adopted the simplest, yet most direct, approach.

"You're in big trouble, Director Fury!"

Nick Fury was already somewhat surprised when he received the call, and when he heard this, his heart tightened even more. He frowned and asked in a deep voice, "I don't understand what you mean!"

"Then you should think about it yourself first."

Finney Hellseg, wanting to play hard to get, hung up the phone directly, thinking that Nick Fury would call back in a few seconds, and whether he should refuse a few times before answering.

But to Finney Hellseg's surprise, five minutes passed, and there was no response from the phone. This greatly surprised him; the plot shouldn't be developing like this!

  Ten minutes… half an hour…

Finney Hellseg was conflicted. This situation was completely unexpected. He had considered that Nick Fury might not believe him, and he had also considered that Nick Fury wouldn't ask him for help, but he never expected that Nick Fury would simply ignore him.

Just as Finney Hellseg was considering what to do, whether to call back, the phone finally rang.

  "I'm right outside your door!"

Nick Fury's voice sounded somewhat hurried. Finney Hellseg didn't know where he had come from, but upon hearing this, he finally understood why Fury hadn't called back.

Finney Hellseg was surprised that Nick Fury was so cautious, coming directly to see him, but this also relieved him; at least he wasn't being ignored.

Outside, Nick Fury was sitting in a black car. Seeing Finney Hellseg come out, he said, "Mind going for a drive?"

Finney Hellseg first looked around, then glanced at Nick Fury, and finally opened the passenger door and got in.

Throughout the journey, Finney Hellseg remained silent, and Nick Fury seemed intent on driving, the car unusually quiet. Only after they stopped in the suburbs did Nick Fury ask,

"What do you mean by 'big trouble'?"

Finney Hellseg didn't know that Nick Fury's strongest impression of him wasn't the freely accessible teleportation portal, the mysterious 'Haunted by Evil Spirits,' or the incredibly powerful 'Explosive Magic.'

It was his earlier casual remark, "You found Captain America?"

  The unknown is terrifying.

If he had known Finney Hellseg possessed a powerful intelligence organization, or had a mole within the agency, he wouldn't have been so concerned.

But it was precisely because he knew Finney Hellseg lacked these abilities that Nick Fury was terrified of Finney Hellseg's power.

This was why he had traveled so far to meet Finney Hellseg simply because of a phone call.

Although Finney Hellseg didn't know the reason, he knew from Nick Fury's attitude that Fury valued him highly. He immediately put on a serious face and said,

"You've had contact with the Kree Empire and taken in Skrulls. I don't need to elaborate on how vast and dangerous the universe is!"

Nick Fury's expression changed drastically. He had many secrets, but this was undoubtedly the most closely guarded.

Although Finney Hellseg had mentioned that woman before, it was something that had happened in the past. Even if Fury had destroyed all records, there were still traces. But he was certain that no one on Earth knew about this.

"Finney Hellseg, where did you learn all this…?"

Nick Fury's face was grim. Even if Finney Hellseg hadn't told him about the trouble, he wouldn't have been in a good mood.

"You don't need to know where I know. Just understand that I know more than you think,"

Finney Hellseg replied calmly. The more Nick Fury feared him, the more likely he was to believe his next words, making it easier for Fury to obtain the Tesseract.

"Of course, you can try to arrest me and interrogate me, but think carefully about the consequences,"

Finney Hellseg suddenly said, then secretly observed Nick Fury's expression, trying to determine if he had such thoughts.

However, Nick Fury hadn't been a spy for so many years for nothing. Although he was unsettled by Finney Hellseg's words, it would be too naive to try to figure out his thoughts from that.      "I'm not that unreasonable."

Nick Fury gave Finney Hellseg a deep look and continued, "But I hope you're the only one who knows about this!"

  "Don't worry, I'm super tight-lipped!"

Finney Hellseg selectively forgot about Tony and Skye's situation, but he really didn't need to gossip about it, because he genuinely didn't know Nick Fury's purpose in keeping those Skrulls.

"Let's talk about the big trouble first!"

Nick Fury didn't believe Finney Hellseg's words, but he had no way to stop him. Just as Finney Hellseg was unwilling to break with S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury was also worried about the consequences of becoming enemies.

  "Remember the Asgard incident?"

  "That hammer in New Mexico?"

  Nick Fury certainly hadn't forgotten.

"As far as I know, the Rainbow Bridge in Asgard was destroyed, so you don't need to worry about them teleporting their army down someday."

Finney Hellseg deliberately obscured the time when the Rainbow Bridge was destroyed, as if it had just been destroyed recently.

Hearing this, Nick Fury didn't seem particularly pleased. Instead, he frowned and asked, "I remember you saying they should be considered allies!"

  "Yes."

Finney Hellseg nodded and continued, "But you've still been wary of them, still preparing for war with them, haven't you?"

"I have to anticipate every possibility!"

Nick Fury neither refuted nor denied.

"That's why I've always felt you're much more dangerous than me and Hulk."

Finney Hellseg shrugged, speaking with a mocking tone, "But you know what? The Tesseract was originally left on Earth by the Asgardians."

After what had happened, Nick Fury found his resilience much stronger and was no longer surprised that Finney Hellseg knew these secrets.

"You mean they want to take it back now?"

Finney Hellseg didn't respond. After all, this was Nick Fury's own speculation; he hadn't said that was the problem.

Nick Fury frowned. If this was true, it was indeed a huge problem. Although the thing might have originally belonged to Asgard, after so long on Earth, it should bear the mark of Earth.

  "What if I refuse?"

Nick Fury asked Finney Hellseg, his intuition telling him that Finney Hellseg's special notification must have a purpose.

"Then you need to let them know you have the right to refuse."

Finney Hellseg narrowed his eyes slightly. In truth, Asgard probably didn't care much about the Space Stone; it wasn't very useful to them.

The requirements for using the stone were too high; probably only Odin in all of Asgard could truly use it, but in Odin's current state, using it would likely only hasten his death.

Moreover, Asgard's teleportation technology was very advanced, in some ways not much worse than a portal.

Therefore, Finney Hellseg's reason for saying this was simply to scare Nick Fury and then achieve his goal of contacting the Tesseract.
