Chapter 113, "Come Out, Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
Looking at the skill he'd drawn this time, Finney was once again filled with surprise.
From the very beginning of obtaining this system, Finney knew that although it was supposed to draw abilities from anime, it wouldn't necessarily be released exactly as depicted in the anime.
For example, his 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique' didn't require chanting and could activate its effect directly.
Another example was his 'Violet Chicken Nuggets Roll,' which could not only be made but also summoned out of thin air—a method never seen in the anime.
Therefore, when he saw the sixth skill, Finney couldn't help but feel a surge of joy.
"Card: Blue-Eyes White Dragon"
"From: Yu-Gi-Oh!"
"Description: A legendary dragon renowned for its high attack power! It can crush any opponent; its destructive power is immeasurable!"
Drawing the Imperial Arm 'Demon Possession' had already surprised Finney, but he hadn't expected to draw another card—a dragon.
However, before testing this skill, Finney was still somewhat apprehensive. Although he had heard of this dragon's name in his previous life, he didn't know what the card's effect would be.
Overall, however, Finney still trusted the system's creations. Looking at his five existing skills, none were weak, and by extension, the 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' should be the same.
Now that he had some free time, Finney didn't hesitate. He donned the 'Haunted by Evil' outfit and opened a portal to the snowy mountain.
On the snow, Finney stood suspended in mid-air, using his sixth skill. A palm-sized card suddenly floated in front of him.
Finney caught it and examined it.
There was an image on the front; if all went well, it should be the 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' he could summon.
Silver-white scales covered its entire body, its fanged mouth spewed white light, its claws clenched in mid-air, and its wings spread, each edge bearing two sharp bone spikes.
The lifelike appearance made the image seem almost alive.
However, to Finney's surprise, the 'Blue-Eyes White Dragon' depicted, while exceptionally majestic and ferocious,
seemed rather small.
It wasn't that the image itself was small, but rather that the Blue-Eyes White Dragon in the picture looked like a young dragon.
Finney continued looking at the card and immediately noticed something odd: there was only one star at the top. Although Finney didn't know much about this dragon, he remembered that in the anime, this was definitely not a one-star card.
Besides that, there was nothing else on the card—no attack or defense stats, no descriptions of skills or moves; it looked like just a beautifully drawn picture.
Finney held the card, hesitated slightly, but decided to test the skill's effect first.
Following the system's instructions on how to use the skill, Finney held the card between his index and middle fingers, stared ahead, and threw the card out while loudly chanting, "My turn! Come forth, Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
The card, flying in the air, suddenly began to flash, followed by what seemed like a roar.
Soon, the card turned to light and vanished, replaced by a majestic Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Although this Blue-Eyes White Dragon was only about the size of a car, Finney liked it at first sight.
"So cool!"
Finney stared with shining eyes at the Blue-Eyes White Dragon flapping its wings and flying in the air. Although he didn't know its exact strength, just its appearance alone made the draw worthwhile.
"Can it talk?"
Finney flew to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's side and asked curiously.
"Roar!"
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon roared, seemingly responding to Finney.
"Land!"
Finney continued the test.
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon obediently flapped its wings and landed on the ground.
Finney examined the Blue-Eyes White Dragon closely, unable to resist reaching out to touch its silvery-white body; the cold touch felt like touching steel.
"Roll over!?"
Finney took a few steps back and said again, curiously watching whether the Blue-Eyes White Dragon would follow the command.
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon didn't seem embarrassed by the command and obediently rolled over on the snow, looking somewhat comical.
Then, Finney tested it little by little, from simple left and right turns to more complex gestures and delayed commands, gradually deducing the Blue-Eyes White Dragon's intelligence.
After testing, Finney discovered that the Blue-Eyes White Dragon didn't seem to have any independent thought; it was more like a manipulated puppet, only able to accept commands but unable to understand their meaning.
Finney wasn't disappointed; otherwise, he would have been dissatisfied long ago just from its appearance.
Because upon summoning the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Finney learned that it was capable of evolution.
At this moment, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon was only a single star; Finney didn't know its maximum potential, but he knew that as long as it evolved, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon would definitely change.
As for the path of evolution…
Finney looked at the Blue-Eyes White Dragon before him and summoned several 'Violet Chicken Nuggets', throwing them into its mouth. The
Blue-Eyes White Dragon didn't even chew, swallowing them whole, packaging and all.
Evolution was through eating; anything with energy, anything with calories, as long as it could be digested, would allow it to evolve.
Upon learning this evolution method, Finney's first thought was that he wouldn't have to worry about what to do with the 'Violet Chicken Nuggets' anymore.
Next, he considered taking the Tesseract from Nick Fury and feeding it to the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
Although he knew that there was a high probability the Blue-Eyes White Dragon couldn't digest the Tesseract, the Space Stone's energy, at this point,
he felt uneasy not trying.
Since the Infinity Stones are called Infinity Stones, each one contains terrifying amounts of energy. Finney didn't intend to digest an entire stone, but absorbing even a small amount of energy would likely accelerate its evolution.
It was already October, and Finney didn't know if Nick Fury had begun his research into cosmic magic, or to what extent.
In his memory, Loki opening the portal wouldn't be until next year, and Finney didn't want to wait that long, especially considering the possibility of Asgard taking it away.
Of the six Infinity Stones, Finney was most interested in the Reality Stone, as it might be compatible with the use of the 'Golden Grand Evolution Technique'.
He had considered obtaining the other Infinity Stones, but wasn't too concerned about not getting them.
The Soul Stone required sacrifice, a condition that blocked him.
The Time Stone was out of the question; unless he became the Sorcerer Supreme, he likely wouldn't obtain it, as he wouldn't harm his own organization.
The Mind Stone was probably with Thanos now, and if he had the chance to get it, he would keep it even if he didn't use it.
As for the Power Stone, Finney felt that if his body could use it normally, having it or not wouldn't make much difference when facing enemies.
As for the Space Stone, he hadn't been particularly interested in it before, since the portals to Kamar-Taj were already quite convenient, and there was no need to get involved with this Asgardian collectible.
But now, with the Blue-Eyes White Dragon, the situation was different.
