Still cursing, Jason Silver landed heavily on the floor.
Atsushi Murasakibara glared at him and muttered, "I'll crush you!"
Jason Silver shoved Atsushi Murasakibara aside in exasperation.
"All you ever say is 'I'll crush you.' It's getting annoying!"
He then walked over to Nash Gold.
"Give me some kind of signal next time. Even I almost couldn't react to that pass!"
Nash Gold smiled faintly.
"Stay focused. My passes can appear anywhere at any time."
Jason Silver grinned and nodded.
Seijuro Akashi's expression shifted when he saw their exchange.
Even he had not expected Nash Gold to pass so suddenly.
There had been no preparatory movement whatsoever. The pass had come too quickly for him to react.
Shintaro Midorima wore a similar expression. Even after getting back to his feet, he had not noticed Nash Gold releasing the ball.
Only then did the two of them realize what Nash Gold's deadliest weapon truly was.
It was not his [Belial Eye].
It was his No Motion Pass.
As long as Nash Gold possessed the No Motion Pass, the threat he posed would remain immeasurably high.
No one could tell when or where he would release the ball.
His passes required no preparation. He could send the ball anywhere at any moment.
Even the [Emperor Eye] could not predict such a pass.
Unless the [Emperor Eye] regained the ability to see the future.
...
Off the court, Tetsuya Kuroko had also noticed this and shared his conclusion.
Ryota Kise exclaimed, "Then doesn't that mean it's completely impossible to defend?!"
Tetsuya Kuroko nodded, but after thinking of something, he quickly shook his head.
"No. There's still a chance."
Ryota Kise blinked.
"Huh?"
Tetsuya Kuroko continued, "Because Nash's passes have no preparatory movement, he can release the ball at any moment. That means no one knows when he's going to pass."
"We don't know, but neither do his teammates."
Ryota Kise paused. After thinking it over, he realized that it made perfect sense.
Was this not the classic situation where one player held the ball and the other nine panicked?
Makoto Hanamiya overheard them and scoffed.
"Hah. If someone else had created this team, your theory might actually be right."
"But don't forget. This team was created by Tokima-san."
"If even you can figure that out, how could Tokima-san not have considered it?"
Makoto Hanamiya's words left Tetsuya Kuroko silent.
He was right. Miyamoto Tokima had founded the Black Dragon Team, so the direction of its development undoubtedly reflected his intentions.
That meant Tetsuya Kuroko's theory about one player holding the ball while the other nine panicked might be wrong.
...
On the court, Seijuro Akashi dribbled into the frontcourt while desperately searching for a countermeasure.
They had to find a way to break the No Motion Pass. Otherwise, the situation would become extremely difficult.
Suddenly, Nash Gold appeared in front of him in an instant and reached for the ball.
Seijuro Akashi hurriedly pulled back to avoid the steal.
At that moment, he finally understood.
The reason Nash Gold could move as though he were teleporting was that even during that brief burst of acceleration, he made no preparatory movement whatsoever.
Seijuro Akashi gritted his teeth. The situation was becoming more troublesome by the second.
His [Emperor Eye] was being suppressed, and his passing options were being restricted.
The gap between them was too great.
No.
Nash Gold had come over to guard him.
That meant...
Shintaro Midorima saw Seijuro Akashi's expression and smiled helplessly.
"You've finally realized it, Akashi."
He immediately entered his shooting motion. Ignoring Zack and Nick, he jumped into the air.
Seijuro Akashi reacted at once and sent the ball directly into Shintaro Midorima's hands while he was already airborne.
Nash Gold, Zack, and Nick did not move. They simply watched the play unfold.
As Shintaro Midorima released the ball, Zack turned toward Nick.
"Did you see it clearly?"
Nick nodded calmly.
"Yeah. I saw everything."
"Good."
The ball continued rising before dropping cleanly through the net.
Swish!
The shot was good.
Possession changed hands.
The Black Dragon Team had the ball.
Nash Gold approached Seijuro Akashi with a smile.
"Tell me, how large do you think the gap between us is?"
Seijuro Akashi frowned, unable to understand his point.
"What a pointless question."
Nash Gold tilted his head slightly.
"Pointless? It isn't pointless at all, because..."
In the next instant, a flash of white light appeared around Nash Gold's hand, and the basketball vanished.
"I can pass the ball while I'm talking. Did you notice?"
Seijuro Akashi's expression darkened.
He had not noticed at all. Unless he turned to look, he would not even know who had received the ball.
At that moment, he could neither see the future nor read Nash Gold's muscle movements.
He could not perceive the No Motion Pass in the slightest.
Swish!
The sound of the ball passing through the net came from behind Seijuro Akashi.
The shot had gone in.
Nick had scored.
The pass had arrived too suddenly.
Shintaro Midorima had still reacted in time and stepped forward to contest the shot.
However, because he had been forced to react so abruptly, he had panicked for a moment and fallen for Nick's shot fake.
Nick adjusted his posture and calmly scored from the open position.
Seijuro Akashi gritted his teeth, his mind racing as he searched for an answer.
Deep within his consciousness, his primary personality had also watched the entire sequence.
After pondering it for a moment, the primary personality murmured, "Is this what passing looks like when it has been trained to the absolute limit?"
...
Possession changed hands once again.
The Dragon Slayer Team had the ball.
After Seijuro Akashi brought the ball into the frontcourt, he noticed that the Black Dragon Team had shifted its defensive formation yet again.
Nash Gold was once more standing in front of Shintaro Midorima, while Nick had returned to guard Seijuro Akashi.
Seijuro Akashi frowned.
The Black Dragon Team changed its defensive formations far too quickly. By the time an ordinary player began adjusting to one setup, they would switch to another in the very next moment.
That style of play made it extremely difficult for opponents to adapt, preventing them from finding an effective counter.
However, at that moment, a new strategy appeared in Seijuro Akashi's mind.
