"I don't know what caused this change in you, but it doesn't matter."
As Nash Gold spoke, his dribbling suddenly accelerated.
The ball soon became a blur in his hands.
He continued,
"Because we're about to crush the hope you believe in!"
Nash Gold twisted his wrist, sending the ball spinning behind his back and curving around at an unnatural angle.
The next instant, he caught it and burst past Seijuro Akashi's left side with lightning speed.
Rings of light began rotating in Seijuro Akashi's eyes.
The secondary personality's [Emperor Eye] was far more powerful than the primary personality's.
In Seijuro Akashi's eyes, every move Nash Gold made was within his predictions.
He immediately moved to cut him off.
That left Nash Gold puzzled.
He stopped and let out a questioning hum.
"Hmm?"
Golden rings appeared in Nash Gold's eyes the next moment.
They began rotating at once, predicting how the future would unfold.
Seijuro Akashi's eyes widened, and he locked gazes with Nash Gold.
Seijuro Akashi could also glimpse the immediate future.
The moment their eyes met, it became clear which of them was stronger.
Seijuro Akashi's expression shifted slightly, but he quickly regained his composure.
Nash Gold, however, stared at him with open curiosity.
The future he could see through [Belial Eye] had grown shorter.
Previously, he could predict events two or even three seconds ahead. After meeting Seijuro Akashi's gaze, however, he could see only one second into the future.
Nash Gold seemed to realize something.
"You can see the future too?"
"To be precise, you can see two seconds ahead."
Seijuro Akashi did not answer. His expression remained cold, and there was an icy chill in his eyes.
Nash Gold immediately knew he had guessed correctly.
Seijuro Akashi could definitely see two seconds into the future.
That realization left Nash Gold astonished.
This could not be an evolution.
No one could evolve so quickly.
Nor could evolution cause such a drastic change in personality.
"So... are you another personality created by a split personality?"
Nash Gold gave Seijuro Akashi a strange look as he slowly asked the question.
Seijuro Akashi's expression did not change.
"What difference does it make whether I am or not?"
That response confirmed Nash Gold's suspicions.
The way he looked at Seijuro Akashi changed, his interest growing even stronger.
"Interesting. Very interesting. So different personalities possess different abilities?"
"The primary personality specialized in passing. As for this one..."
Nash Gold's gaze settled on Seijuro Akashi's eyes.
"Your ability is concentrated in those eyes, isn't it?"
Seijuro Akashi remained silent, his expression as cold as ever.
Rather than losing interest, Nash Gold became even more intrigued.
This was the first time he had encountered someone with a split personality playing basketball.
More importantly, each personality possessed a different ability.
Nash Gold could not help feeling curious.
The shot clock continued ticking down. Not wanting to waste any more time, Nash Gold passed the ball to Miyamoto Tokima.
No matter the situation, they could always rely on Miyamoto Tokima.
Miyamoto Tokima caught the ball with a dark expression, utterly speechless.
He could have passed at any time, yet he waited until there were only two seconds left.
What the hell are you, LeBron James?!
Despite complaining inwardly, Miyamoto Tokima did not hesitate.
Ignoring Taiga Kagami's defense, he dribbled, stepped back, and shot.
His release was so fast that Taiga Kagami could not react in time.
By the time Taiga Kagami realized what was happening and tried to jump, Miyamoto Tokima had already released the ball.
Swish!
The three-pointer went in.
Taiga Kagami muttered,
"Damn it. His release is still ridiculously fast!"
His expression tightened.
Miyamoto Tokima was the fastest shooter he had ever seen in his life.
No one else even came close.
After scoring, Miyamoto Tokima turned and headed back on defense.
Nash Gold ran over and held out his fist.
With a dark expression, Miyamoto Tokima bumped fists with him before saying irritably,
"If you pass me the ball with only two seconds left again, I'll make you drink the Invincible Drink."
Nash Gold's whole body tensed as he remembered the green drink Miyamoto Tokima had given them before.
He swore it was the most disgusting thing he had ever tasted.
Nothing else came close.
Afraid Miyamoto Tokima might actually make him drink it again, Nash Gold hurriedly promised,
"Tokima-san! I swear I'll never pass to you with only two seconds left again!"
Three seconds should still be fine, right?
...
Possession changed hands.
The Dragon Slayer Team had the ball.
Seijuro Akashi slowly brought the ball forward and activated [Emperor Eye].
Just as he was about to glimpse the immediate future, his vision suddenly blurred before becoming clear again.
At the same time, Seijuro Akashi realized that he could no longer see the future.
He immediately looked at Nash Gold.
Nash Gold gave him a faint smile.
Seijuro Akashi instantly understood.
Nash Gold was preventing him from seeing the future.
In return, Nash Gold could now see only one second ahead.
Seijuro Akashi passed the ball to Taiga Kagami, then ran toward him.
He was going to set a screen.
Under normal circumstances, Taiga Kagami would have screened for him. However, Nash Gold's unique abilities made it highly likely that he would simply get around Taiga Kagami's screen.
So Seijuro Akashi reversed their roles and used [Emperor Eye] to set a screen for Taiga Kagami.
His goal was to force a matchup against Zack.
His [Emperor Eye] might be slightly inferior to Nash Gold's [Belial Eye].
But against Zack, Seijuro Akashi was confident he would not lose.
Seijuro Akashi moved beside Zack and set the screen.
Taiga Kagami immediately understood and drove toward him.
Zack tried to get around Seijuro Akashi, but his positioning was too precise.
There was no way through.
Zack had no choice but to switch.
