Control was not the same as silence, and Ramien was learning the difference.
The werewolves block.
Deep in the forest, Ramien watched Alpha train and evaluated his combat experience.
"You should go low, arms up, hit the ribs"
"Calm down, no rush, just slip to the side and redirect the attack"
"You need to watch out for sneak attacks"
Ramien gave Alpha pointers where he needed them.
"How come you know so much about combat tactics and find it hard on the arena?" Alpha suddenly asked.
"Well..uhh ..that's not the point, the point is we train you to beat whoever that werewolf, Adrian is" Ramien said, eyes dodgy.
"You know, my powers follow the heart and emotions, you can always talk to me if you have anything bothering you" Alpha reassured before continuing his training.
Ramien stood watching, hairs standing like he had been caught.
Alpha being able to identify emotions was dangerous at least to him. But Alpha was also the only one in the room who trusted him with his life.
Damien was on his way to the dorm when he was stopped by Reinna.
"Hi, I am Reinna and you must be Damien" she said cheerfully but the authority within her voice could not be hidden.
"That's right, any problems?" Damien replied
"I've been searching for Ramien but can't find him, I figured you should know where he is"
"Unfortunately I don't, what do you need him for?" Damien shifted from a sharp gaze to a wary one.
"Nothing much, just wanted to train, but since he isn't here, can I train with you instead?"
Surprisingly to Damien, she did not order him but asked politely. He who wanted to take his mind of Derian and his weird behaviour accepted the challenge.
At the arena, the two stood opposite each other. Reinna moved first with the speed of a swallow, she closed the distance between them and immediately struck at Damien's neck.
Damien stood still as scales appeared on his neck area, the impact of the hit only rebounded back through Reinna's arm.
She took five steps back groaning in pain while Damien stood there watching her.
"I think this training session is over" Damien said emotionlessly
"What? No, I'm fine, it's just one hit, I can continue" Damien didn't argue
Reinna sped forward again, jaws clenched, a sword made from scales appeared as she struck at Damien's pressure point.
He of course, stepped aside, scales were one of the strongest things in this world, palms or metal could never penetrate it, but scales against scales, that could be dangerous.
Stepping aside, a faint red glow warmed Damien's palm as he slapped Reinna back five feets.
She lunged at him again and again but was forced back each time. How could she not tell that Damien wasn't even trying yet she couldn't defeat him.
'Overseer Donald was right to make him block president' Reinna thought.
As they sparred, Damien's eyes caught a familiar silhouette perched on a tree staring at them amusedly.
It was no other than Derian.
'What the hell is this guy, he seems to enjoy getting on my nerves' Damien thought.
He wanted to go over and give him a piece of his mind but Reinna was too persistent on keeping the training going.
Reinna slowed at last, breath uneven, frustration burning brighter than the gold in her blood.
Damien raised a hand.
"Enough."
The word wasn't loud, but it carried weight.
Reinna froze, surprised—not by the command, but by how naturally it came from him. Damien lowered his arm, scales fading back into skin.
"You don't need to prove anything here," he said. "And you don't need to push yourself against someone who isn't fighting back."
Her jaw tightened, but she nodded.
From the corner of his vision, Damien felt it again—that presence. When he looked, Derian was no longer there, instead he found Victor coming towards him.
"You need to check on your brother, or you can just stay here training with a beauty" Victor said nodding his head towards Reinna.
This of course disgusted her.
"What's wrong with my brother?"
" Alpha brought him back from their training session, his scales are all out but he locked himself in the bathroom asking for you"
Immediately Damien teleported, Victor sped back to the dorm room, appearing at the exact same time Damien did.
Alpha and Ace were standing in front of the bathroom asking Ramien to open the door but he refused.
Both were shocked, especially Ace when they realised Victor's speed could match Damien's teleportation.
They could hear crashing and breaking noises coming from the bathroom.
Damien didn't ask any questions, he teleported directly into the bathroom.
Ramien scales were all out, his hands transformed into claws, he stared at Damien with unwillingness and wary daring not to try anything, he knew his control had gone thin.
Damien returned the stare and simply said "it's time for the sealing."
Holding Ramien who struggled from the grip, the brothers disappeared.
Victor broke down the bathroom door, but no one was in there.
'The sealing'
The words echoed in the three minds.
Meanwhile in an underground cave, far away from Blackspire Academy, two brothers sat opposite each other.
Damien drew strange lines around Ramien, his eyes practiced to complete focus.
"You can't do this, I am your brother" Ramien protested
"Exactly why I need to do this" Damien replied, tone calm.
"Everyone knows you are dangerous, why can't they know I am too?, am I far dangerous than you are?" Ramien laughed, a crazed one.
Damien paused in his movement.
Annoyance crossing his eyes.
He then sat in front of Ramien "Go back to the shadows from whence you came"
"No!!" Ramien screamed as red and ash lights filled the cave.
