Chapter 26 - Nine-Tails Power — Second Pillar’s Reputation Is Ruined

"If I could copy Child of Destiny and throw it into Seven-Year Itch, I wonder what would happen…"

"Or maybe fuse Sasuke's destiny with Naruto's—would that create some kind of version protagonist?"

"Little Naruto's traits are just too good… it's just a shame I don't get many chances to interact with him."

Muttering to himself all the way, Kai soon arrived at the academy gates.

At the same time, a new system prompt appeared before his eyes.

[Interacted with Uzumaki Naruto for ten minutes. Attempting to copy trait.]

[Copy successful. Congratulations, host has obtained Legendary Trait: Nine-Tails Power · Fragment (gold).]

"Oh?"

"Another gold?"

Kai's steps came to an abrupt halt, a strange gleam flashing deep in his eyes.

Nine-Tails power.

If one tail of Kurama was roughly equivalent to Shukaku, then this meant—

He had just pulled two Shukakus.

Without hesitation, he said, "Fuse it. Merge this trait into Nine-Tails Power."

[Trait fusion in progress…]

[Fusion successful. Congratulations, host has obtained Legendary Trait: Nine-Tails Power · Two Tails (gold). Able to borrow the power of two tails, greatly enhancing physical strength, reaction speed, and more.]

Two tails.

In terms of chakra quantity alone, that was easily the equivalent of twenty Kakashis—at minimum.

Not to mention the unique corrosive nature of tailed-beast chakra itself.

Plop—

At that moment, Kai suddenly felt the world around him shift.

Ripples spread across his vision like water disturbed by a falling drop.

A low, echoing sound reached his ears.

Plop—

Plop—

Deep and distant, like dew falling into a mountain pool.

"This is…"

Kai blinked. After a brief moment of disorientation, he quickly realized where he was.

Inside his body.

More precisely—

Inside the sealing space.

"So you noticed already? This fox is quicker than I thought."

Kai smacked his lips and looked ahead calmly.

Splash!

Before long, a massive crimson lantern slowly emerged from the darkness.

The oval red glow opened—

Revealing an enormous, slender face behind it.

Arrogance and disdain were written clearly across it.

Like a noble disturbed mid-rest, its lofty gaze slowly descended.

Directly onto Kai.

"Hmph, brat. You dare disturb this great one—"

Pure tsundere, right out of the gate.

Unfortunately, before it could finish, Kai smiled and cut in:

"Hello, Kurama."

Crack.

The Nine-Tails, who had been gathering momentum, froze on the spot.

The scarlet fury in its eyes faded for a split second—clarity flashing through.

Then came incomparable rage.

"ROOOAR—! You despicable Uchiha brat, what nonsense are you spewing?!"

"This great one is NOT Kurama!"

"Damn Uchiha! I knew you were up to no good!"

"Get out! Get out! GET OUT!"

Amid the furious roars, the Nine-Tails' form dissolved into bubbles and vanished.

It even left in a bit of a hurry.

Kai didn't even get the chance to say a second sentence before being kicked out.

Back in the real world.

Sasuke and Naruto were already tugging at each other as they headed deeper into the academy.

The so-called Uchiha F4 was now down to three.

Watching the endless stream of people, Kai hesitated for a moment—then stepped into the campus as well.

"Huh? Kai, why are you going in—" Shisui froze and quickly reached out to grab him.

But his hand was stopped midway by a slender palm.

Itachi narrowed his eyes in a smile.

"Kai hasn't graduated yet either."

"Oh—right, almost forgot."

Shisui scratched his head and laughed sheepishly.

Then his smile suddenly stiffened.

So…

he'd just been beaten by someone who hadn't even graduated yet?

...

"Whoa, look at that boy in blue—he's so handsome!"

"So cool! He looks like he's from the Uchiha clan!"

"Hands in pockets, cold gaze, rich family background—ugh, total CEO vibes, I love it!"

"Who's going to ask him for his contact info…?"

Inside the Ninja Academy, the new class erupted the moment they saw Sasuke.

Even at such a young age, some of the girls were already blushing and bold enough to approach him.

Unfortunately, Sasuke didn't even spare them a glance—rejecting them outright.

Right now, there was only one person in his eyes—

Naruto.

A Naruto who wouldn't stop yapping beside his ear.

"Uzumaki Naruto, shut up!"

Bang!

With that, Sasuke kicked the classroom door open and strode straight in.

That noisy blond idiot.

"Tch, tsundere pale-skinned little man."

Naruto curled his lip, completely unbothered.

After two and a half years, the two of them were already thoroughly familiar with each other.

Inside the classroom.

Some of the freshmen chatting excitedly suddenly fell silent.

They turned—and saw Uchiha Sasuke, radiating arrogant coolness.

The girls' eyes instantly lit up.

A handsome guy!

But without exception, they were once again met with total indifference.

Sasuke's mind was filled only with his brothers—no room for girls at all.

The academy girls were heartbroken…

Until—

A man appeared.

"Hey, classmate. You really like that Uchiha kid, don't you?"

"Huh? You are…?"

"Oh, I'm that kid's brother. Name's Uchiha Itachi."

"Ah—Itachi-niisan!"

The girl immediately stood up and bowed respectfully.

"Niisan, could you tell me some stories about Sasuke?"

"Gladly. It was a dark and stormy night when Sasuke was born, clutching a golden lock in his tiny hands—"

...

[Interacted with passerby for ten minutes. Attempting to copy trait.]

[Copy successful. Congratulations, host has obtained Common Trait: Agile (white).]

"White? Fuse it."

...

Ten minutes later, in front of a pink-haired girl.

"Sasuke? That kid used to be kind of dumb. He'd eat goat droppings all the time, said they were chocolate beans…"

...

[Interacted with passerby for ten minutes. Attempting to copy trait.]

[Copy failed.]

...

Another ten minutes. A different pink-haired girl.

"Sasuke's life is rough. When he was born, his dad dropped him on the floor…"

...

"You see, Sasuke might look cold, but that's just a poker face. He's actually super shy and repressed…"

...

Inside the first-year classroom.

Sasuke slowly opened his eyes from his quiet contemplation.

The moment he looked up, he nearly jumped.

At the doorway stood a group of girls—pointing at him and whispering!

"What is this?"

He was baffled.

He clearly hadn't responded to any of them—so why were they still clinging on?

As he wondered, one girl cautiously poked her head in, smiling nervously.

"Sasuke, don't worry… I won't mind even if you're kind of a dumb-dumb."

Behind her, another girl hurried forward with a bag in hand.

"S-Sasuke, this is chocolate beans my dad brought back… y-you shouldn't eat goat droppings anymore, that's unsanitary…"

She shoved the bag into his hands and bolted away.

"…Dumb-dumb?"

"…Goat droppings?"

Sasuke stood there, frozen in place.

Outside the window, rain began to fall.

And for no reason at all, a line drifted through his mind—

Let the heavy rain fall down…
