Chapter 70: Reacquiring Scarlet Eyes
Ronin didn't get it.
Raymond clearly held supreme status in the Mafia, even having Nen users as subordinates.
Why didn't he try to understand this power and learn it?
If he had tried.
At least today he wouldn't have died without knowing what hit him!
Hands formed a cross seal, a Shadow Clone appeared, instantly transforming into Raymond's likeness using Transformation Technique.
He walked over, took the gun from Raymond's corpse's waist, and casually shot the head of Mole, who was under the Sharingan genjutsu, stopping his struggles. Then, while taking a communication device from the main body and putting it in his ear, he walked toward the door.
At this moment, the door was burst open by mobsters due to the gunshots inside the room.
Armed mobsters rushed into the room, seeing only a charred corpse and Mole's corpse shot in the head.
The charred corpse was Raymond's. Before the mobsters broke in, Ronin's main body cast Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu to char it.
Now the Raymond on the ground was the assassin who killed Mole!
"Take the body out," the Shadow Clone ordered expressionlessly, walking towards the room's bar and pouring himself a cola.
Meanwhile, Ronin's main body had reappeared outside the room, flying toward the hotel rooftop.
Kurapika and Neon were there.
Kurapika also wore a communication device in his ear, allowing him to contact the Shadow Clone below at any time.
"My puppet technique requires close range, it's not as convenient as Shadow Clone paired with Transformation. The only downside is the time limit, but as long as I get the main body and you two inside smoothly, the rest will be easy to handle," Ronin made an OK gesture to Kurapika.
Shortly after, Ronin's main body, along with Kurapika and Neon, appeared in Room 1801.
Raymond's status in the Mafia was paramount; his orders were law, and no one dared disobey.
Using Raymond's identity, combined with the strength of Ronin and the others, controlling the Mafia wasn't difficult, just time-consuming.
Ronin didn't need to worry about these things; he just handed full authority to Kurapika.
"I need some professionals to assist," Kurapika took out a business card. Ronin was very familiar with the name on it—his Gold Medal Agent, Milia!
During his few months of training, he also took time to return to Heaven's Arena once.
After all, challengers on the 200th floor had a 90-day preparation period. If they didn't compete beyond that period, they would lose their eligibility.
Ronin sneaked back once and completed a match in just two days.
Such speed naturally didn't allow for mass promotion, nor did it give the Phantom Troupe a chance to intercept him at Heaven's Arena.
Furthermore, he had an agreement with Milia: if he could truly control the Mafia under the Ten Dons, Milia could provide him with some technical support.
She had immense influence at Heaven's Arena.
Her subordinates possessed vast connections. Assisting Kurapika in controlling the Mafia wouldn't be difficult.
Ronin acted like a hands-off boss, sitting on the sofa playing video games with Neon.
It was already 5:30 PM. His daily training time was over; now was relaxation time.
"By the way, speaking of which, there should be another underground auction tomorrow night, and the auction catalog this time also has a pair of Scarlet Eyes. What do you plan to do?" Ronin asked while playing.
"Transfer them in advance," Kurapika said calmly. "I need you to take Owl on a trip."
"I contributed too!" Neon showed off.
After Kurapika took over Raymond's position, the first thing he did was find data on some mobsters planning to attend the auction tonight for Neon.
Neon divined for these people.
Without exception, the results indicated that if they attended tomorrow's auction, they would certainly die!
So Kurapika used Raymond's identity to contact the Ten Dons and demand the transfer of tomorrow's auction items.
"Now?" Ronin dropped the controller and stood up.
"Yeah, bring back both pairs of Scarlet Eyes at once!" Kurapika said.
The Ten Dons' identity was very useful. For just two pairs of Scarlet Eyes, he had full authority to just take them.
Giving these two auction items no chance to appear at the auction!
"Alright, I'm going over now," Ronin went directly to the window.
"Be careful. The Troupe might scout in advance, after all, the underground auction just experienced a robbery last night," Kurapika said. "Don't fly over this time. I've arranged a car; you'll go over with the mobsters then."
Ronin instantly understood Kurapika's meaning.
Owl's ability hadn't been exposed yet.
As long as he used some disguise to get into the building, even if the Phantom Troupe scouted in advance, they wouldn't know all the goods had been transferred ahead of time!
Tomorrow's auction would still be held at the Cemetery Building.
It was a provocation from the Ten Dons to the Phantom Troupe: if you have the guts, come rob it again tomorrow night.
Only no one knew until now that the one who really robbed that batch of goods wasn't the Phantom Troupe at all, but him, Ronin!
Ronin took the elevator to the underground parking lot. Cars and waiting mobsters were already ready here.
The cars drove easily into the Cemetery Building's parking lot. Ronin transformed into Owl's appearance for disguise, then walked swaggeringly into the vault where treasures had been shipped in and stocked again.
Owl was released.
A Fun Fun Cloth easily wrapped up all the treasures in the vault except for those two pairs of Scarlet Eyes.
Stuffing the small bundle into his pocket, Ronin put away the two pairs of Scarlet Eyes before turning to leave.
The whole process, even the people responsible for guarding the vault, didn't know exactly what happened inside.
They only knew that a young man wearing round sunglasses and flip-flops walked into the vault once, and then the vault was completely sealed off, with orders from above not to open it again until the day of the auction.
Responsible for observing the situation at the Cemetery Building were Shalnark, Kortopi, and Bonolenov.
Bonolenov had even used his ability to disguise himself and walked into the Cemetery Building before, leaving numerous posters copied by Kortopi inside.
These posters acted as Kortopi's eyes because he could make them activate his En at any time to probe the surroundings of the posters.
These posters were heavily deployed around the vault.
But when Ronin left, Kortopi outside the building didn't notice any abnormalities.
