Chapter 27 - His Rate of Improvement—It’s Simply Defying the Heavens

Beilei had originally wanted to step outside to clear her head. Instead, the moment she came out, she heard the players arguing.

That only made her already complicated mood even more irritable.

She couldn't do anything about Ma Jun, but as for the rest of these humans—

In her eyes, they were nothing more than ants.

Being affected by ants naturally put her in a foul mood.

"A bunch of disgusting insects!"

Her slender brows knitted together. "They should all be dragged down to hell!"

Faced with her overwhelming aura, the players were so frightened they looked like startled birds.

Swish!

Beilei's hand transformed into a sharp claw, slashing out like a bolt of lightning.

Two players instinctively raised their arms to block.

All four arms were severed at once.

Severed limbs flew through the air, dark-red blood splattering like rain!

The players' screams rang out as panic and despair spread.

Only then did they finally recall the true terror of a Nightmare-level dungeon.

They finally understood—

Being alive until now wasn't because of their strength, nor their luck.

It was all because of Ma Jun!

"Hehehehe!"

The sight of fresh blood instantly excited Beilei.

She stuck out her crimson tongue and slowly licked her lips, the scene dangerously alluring.

But to the players, it was pure terror.

Their hearts shattered.

"The taste of fresh blood… not bad at all."

Beilei raised her arm again—this time, her target was Jiang Han!

Jiang Han's muscles tightened instantly. She spread both arms backward, like a bow pulled taut.

Then she snapped forward violently—

Crack! Crack! Crack!

A chain of explosive sounds erupted from her arm bones.

Behind her, Mu Chen cried out in shock.

"The Eight Extremes Whip!"

"You actually mastered it?!"

Mu Chen had guessed that Jiang Han was hiding her strength, but he never imagined she had even mastered the Eight Extremes Whip—

A notoriously difficult explosive technique.

At just sixteen years old, being able to wield such a secret art—

Even among genius-filled military zones, Jiang Han would be among the absolute top!

Perhaps only that lofty, mountain-like figure surpassed her slightly.

Jiang Han held a dining knife in each hand.

She had scavenged them earlier while working in the castle, just in case.

She never expected to need them so soon.

Blades flashed like snow, leaving two afterimages in the air.

Faced with such dazzling knife light, Beilei didn't even flinch.

"Hmph, overestimating yourself!"

Her claw swung down, colliding head-on with Jiang Han's blades.

Clang!

A crisp sound rang out.

Jiang Han's pupils shrank violently.

The two knives shattered inch by inch, fragments scattering everywhere and leaving bloody gashes across her body.

The remaining shards pierced several nearby players, making them cry out in pain.

"I like insects with a fighting spirit," Beilei said lazily, stepping forward as her slim waist swayed slightly.

"Killing them is much more fun that way."

"Your blood should taste even better!"

Her claw flashed down again.

Jiang Han sighed inwardly—she knew it clearly now.

There was no way she could dodge this.

A bitter smile touched her lips.

She had thought entering this horror game would be smooth sailing, a way to achieve her goals.

Instead, things had gone completely wrong.

She was going to fall in the very first dungeon.

She closed her eyes.

But the pain she expected never came.

"Huh?"

A chorus of shocked cries sounded in her ears.

"What the hell?!"

"Is this real?!"

"No way…"

She hurriedly opened her eyes.

The first thing she saw was a black silk cloak.

It looked oddly familiar.

Then she remembered—

Ma Jun!

When Ma Jun left the castle during the day, he had been wearing exactly such a cloak.

Her heart began pounding wildly.

She lifted her head and looked at the tall figure standing before her.

It really was Ma Jun!

In his hand, he held a heavy hammer—the one he had snatched from the werewolf squad captain earlier.

But now, the hammer looked even larger than before, its shape far more imposing.

The bloodthirsty Beilei from just moments ago retreated repeatedly, her face full of shock.

She stared at Ma Jun with disbelief and horror.

"That's… that's Sbinse's hammer! How is it in your hands?!"

Ma Jun stood before Jiang Han like a descending god, radiating overwhelming pressure.

He laughed calmly. "What do you think?"

He had just returned from outside when he saw Beilei's claw about to smash down on Jiang Han's head.

If it had landed, Jiang Han would have been done for.

Compared to the other players who had completely lost their composure, this girl had treated him with genuine respect.

He didn't mind helping her out.

Besides, it was a perfect chance to test the power of this hammer.

The results pleasantly surprised him.

That strike earlier hadn't used [Praise] to enhance himself at all.

It was purely his base attributes combined with a fine-grade weapon.

Even so, he could already fight Beilei evenly.

If he used [Praise] on top of that—

It would be a total massacre.

Ma Jun was extremely satisfied with the speed of his growth.

"Sbinse's heavy hammer is in my hands," he said calmly.

"Of course I took it back myself."

"Or did you think he'd hand

it to me willingly?"

Hearing this, Beilei shuddered violently.

Ma Jun… actually defeated Sbinse!
