[You have eliminated all the monsters in the dungeon]
[Clear conditions satisfied]
[You have cleared the [Swelling of the Dungeon] Dungeon]
[Reward calculation in progress...]
"Now give me that skill card," Ethan said with a small smile.
He was not even slightly bothered by the probabilities of obtaining it. To him, there were no chances, only certainties.
After all, he possessed the [Black Halo] trait, which maximized his luck to the highest possible value, causing all probabilities and chances to bend to his will. He already knew he would obtain the skill card in a single try.
[You have been rewarded: 1500 System Gold]
[You have been rewarded: Poison Snake Spear]
[You have been rewarded: Wheel of Skills Card]
"This dungeon rewards plenty of gold," Ethan muttered.
He originally had 50 System Gold. He had received 800 Gold from Jonathan for helping clear the [Skeletal Chamber] dungeon and spent 300 Gold to enter this one.
Now, with these new rewards, his System Gold balance had risen once again.
[Balance: 2050 System Gold]
While it wasn't a large amount, it was more than enough to enter most dungeons and to spend on clothing, food, and other essential materials.
Ethan grabbed the spear that manifested before him and stabbed it into the ground.
It was a long spear shaped like a straight green serpent, its shaft adorned with intricate scale patterns, and a gleaming silver blade extending from the serpent's open mouth.
---
[Poison Snake Spear]
[Rank: Tier-1]
-A spear forged from an extremely hard metal alloyed with the flesh of the Snake Lord, imbued with the essence and energy of venomous serpents.
---
"This will fetch a good price if I sell it."
With that thought, he turned his attention to the most important reward, the [Wheel of Skills Card].
Ethan reached out and grabbed the light-blue card hovering in front of him.
It glowed softly, yet its presence felt tangible.
The moment it settled into his hand, he could feel a mysterious energy pulsing within it, as if the card itself were alive.
He didn't activate it right away.
A thought resurfaced in his mind.
"I should test that theory, right?" Ethan murmured.
It was an idea that had taken shape while he was clearing the dungeon. One born from his [Black Halo] trait and the way its maxed-out Luck warped probabilities and outcomes.
He had already confirmed it.
His trait, [Black Halo], had pushed his Luck to its absolute limit. It was so high that, for him, chance no longer existed, only certainty.
So what if he could push that certainty even further?
The [Wheel of Skills Card] could grant countless types and variations of skills.
Normally, using it meant receiving anything, something entirely random.
Like everyone else, Ethan had his own desires, a specific kind of skill he wanted to obtain.
But wanting something never guaranteed he would get it.
The Wheel didn't care about wishes or needs.
Even if he hoped for a particular skill, there was no assurance the Wheel would land on the category of skill he desired.
There was only a chance, a possibility...
And that word, 'chance', was the core of his theory.
If every chance was now a certainty for him,
then could he simply wish for a skill and guarantee that he received exactly what he wanted?
The idea sounded ridiculous, even to Ethan himself.
But after everything he had witnessed, after seeing what his [Black Halo] trait was truly capable of, the theory no longer felt impossible.
"Let's test this theory right away."
Ethan inhaled deeply and poured his spiritual energy into the [Wheel of Skills Card], activating it.
The card burst into countless particles of light before merging together once more, forming a grand wheel suspended in the air.
It was divided into hundreds of sections, each filled with advanced, intricate, unreadable symbols that resembled ancient runes.
They looked impossibly old and utterly incomprehensible, something Ethan assumed was directly related to the skills themselves.
[You have activated a Wheel of Skills Card]
[You can spin the Wheel of Skills to obtain a random profession-specific skill]
Ethan didn't spin it immediately.
Instead, he stared blankly at the massive wheel, then shifted his gaze to his status panel.
His thoughts lingered on a single skill: [Summon Undead Knight].
"My Undead Knight is a profession-specific skill I got when I awakened my profession," Ethan muttered. "If there are combat-class summons, then shouldn't there also be magic-class, controller-class, and support-class summons as well?"
His eyes returned to the Wheel of Skills.
"I hope the skill I get is a summoning skill similar to Summon Undead Knight, but belonging to any of the controller, support, or magic class."
He did what every Awakener did before spinning a skill wheel.
He prayed, wished, and hoped to obtain the type of skill he desired.
Except this time, his hope was no longer left entirely to fate.
His luck turned hope into certainty.
Sensing his intent, the wheel began spinning rapidly.
The concept behind his theory was simple. If he were truly lucky, he might actually obtain exactly what he desired.
Moments later, the wheel slowed, then came to a stop on a random section.
A flood of information surged into Ethan's mind, and his eyes widened.
[You have acquired the Skill: Summon Undead Mage]
[Detected: You possess two summoning skills with identical natures.]
[Triggering the special effect of the [Necromancer] profession.]
[Beginning skill fusion...]
Two streams of mysterious information intertwined within his spiritual space.
[Skill Fusion complete]
[Skill Fusion successful]
[The skills Summon Undead Knight and Summon Undead Mage have fused into a single summoning skill.]
[You have acquired the summoning skill: Summon Undead Soldiers]
Ethan immediately shifted his attention to his Skill Slot panel.
---
[Skill Slots]
-Slot 1: Summon Undead Soldiers
-Slot 2: Summon Undead Spirits
-Slot 3: Undead Graveyard
-Slot 4: Death Link
-Slot 5: Mourning Rain
-Slot 6: {Empty}
---
"This theory works… it actually works." Ethan felt his legs go numb for a moment, overwhelmed by an excitement and adrenaline rush unlike anything he had ever experienced.
"As long as it's anything that relies on chances or probabilities, my trait turns them into certainties."
"This means that as long as I can get my hands on a skill card, I can simply wish for a specific skill and I will get it."
It took several minutes for Ethan to calm his racing heart before he finally glanced at the new type of summon he had unlocked.
He had obtained the skill [Summon Undead Mage], which immediately fused with [Summon Undead Knight] due to the special effect of his profession, forming a single summoning skill known as [Summon Undead Soldiers].
Like [Summon Undead Spirits], it became a unified summoning skill that could summon an entire species of undead rather than a single fixed type.
[Summon Undead Spirits] allowed him to summon various species of undead spirits, while [Summon Undead Soldiers] enabled him to summon human-type undead soldiers belonging to combat and magic classes.
---
[Summoning Skill: Summon Undead Soldiers]
-Summons undead soldiers of various classes.
-Currently unlocked classes:
Combat-Class: Knight
Magic-Class: Mage
---
Seeing the description of the skill, Ethan felt his heart thump harder in his chest.
"Combat and magic class summons, huh? That means there are still controller-type and support-type soldier summons I can acquire and fuse into the [Summon Undead Soldiers] skill."
At the same time, he felt something change within the already summoned Undead Knights, similar to the sensation he had experienced when he acquired the Poison attribute, as their presence and appearance underwent visible changes.
His Undead Knight had grown to six feet tall, its muscles more defined, and its overall presence far stronger.
"Could it be…?" Ethan's eyes widened even further.
Then he remembered a special effect of skull fusion.
During skill fusion, several things happen beyond simply merging two or more skills into a brand-new one.
All the skills involved strengthen each other, and if two or more skills being fused share similar properties, they combine to create that property with effects multiplied several times over.
It was also how, during the skill fusion of his Summon Undead Knight and Summon Undead Mage skills, his Undead Knight had finally gained a new skill, separate from the one acquired using the Poison Attribute Stone.
Ethan observed his Undead Knight's status closely.

"Their attributes increased significantly; they are not useless anymore… but what about the Undead Mage?" Ethan immediately poured out his spiritual energy, activating the [Summon Undead Soldiers] skill and summoning an Undead Mage.
Unlike his usual summoning ritual, something different occurred.
Instead of a gate opening on the ground, a green magical circle appeared, and a figure rose from it.
The figure wielded a staff topped with a skeletal head.
Similar to the Undead Knight, it resembled a corpse, its pale, dead skin barely visible beneath a dark robe.
Its face was concealed behind a skeletal white mask, revealing only its white, lifeless eyes.

"Damn, their attributes are even higher than mine, except for Spiritual Energy," Ethan sighed, though he couldn't hide the excitement on his face.
