After ending the phone call, Lin Fei once again looked up at the Taotie in the sky.
Having witnessed the power Lin Fei had just displayed, the Taotie had all become noticeably cautious.
This was not the kind of intelligent life a pre–nuclear civilization like Blue Star should possess.
"Be careful—this God River Body is very likely an intelligent lifeform that surpasses Blue Star's civilization."
"But even so, there's nothing for us to be afraid of."
"Exactly. Don't forget—we have the numbers. There are so many of us, and he's only one."
"Who said A-Fei is alone?!"
Hearing the Taotie's arrogant words from above, Su Xiaoli immediately got upset and stepped to Lin Fei's side.
Even though she really had come just to watch—
They were making it sound as if A-Fei were fighting all by himself.

Qiangwei shot Lin Fei a look.
This unreliable guy—she'd only believed his words in the first place because something was clearly off about him.
If he really were a prophet, why didn't he come earlier to deal with the Taotie, or at least warn them in advance?
"Another intelligent lifeform beyond pre-nuclear civilization?"
"It seems our assessment of Blue Star was flawed."
"Fortunately, King Wugui had foresight and sent us to probe Blue Star's strength first. Otherwise, these intelligent beings could have become obstacles to our millennium conquest."
The Taotie squad leader leading this operation activated the red glow of the optic device on his helmet.
He immediately transmitted intelligence on Lin Fei and the others to the Taotie fleet en route through the Milky Way.
"What do we do now?"
"The newly appeared female intelligent lifeform seems to be using wormhole transport—hard to predict."
"Send two of you to deal with her. If we can eliminate her early, it'll clear obstacles for our conquest."
"And the other two—abilities still unknown."
"Probe their strength, then report everything to King Wugui."
"Move out!"
The squad leader issued orders rapidly.
At his command, the remaining Taotie split into two groups.
One group flew toward Qiangwei.
The other attacked Lin Fei and Su Xiaoli.
"Clang! Clang!"
Dark alloy armor strikes landed on Qiangwei.
"Looks like I don't need to split my attention—these two are mine."
The moment she finished speaking, black armor covered her body, and her figure vanished instantly.
The two Taotie charging toward her halted, scanning their surroundings, searching for her whereabouts.
On Lin Fei's side—
Four Taotie, including the squad leader, attacked together.
Lin Fei curled the corner of his mouth upward and leapt into the air.
Two whip-like kicks sent the Taotie on either side flying away.
While still airborne, he twisted his body and delivered a spinning kick, sending the remaining two crashing away as well.
Bang!
Lin Fei landed steadily on the ground, straightened up, and wore a confident smile.
"A-Fei is so cool!"
Su Xiaoli's eyes sparkled as she watched him effortlessly repel four Taotie.
The four Taotie crashed onto the ground one after another, scrambling back up in disbelief.
"How can this God River Body be this strong?!"
"Close combat seems to be his specialty—then we'll overwhelm him with dense beam fire!"
All four Taotie raised their railguns.
They unleashed beams even more powerful than those that had just obliterated heavy armored tanks.
The beams intertwined into a dense net of destruction.
Not only was Lin Fei enveloped—
Even Su Xiaoli, standing behind him, was within the attack range.
"Trying to hurt Xiaoli right in front of me?"
"You really don't put me in your eyes, do you?"
Lin Fei crossed his arms in front of his chest.
"Armament!"
In the instant the Illusion-Scale armor fully materialized, an overwhelming surge of abnormal energy erupted outward.
Every single railgun beam was blown apart.
Boom—!
Thick smoke engulfed Lin Fei's figure.
When the smoke dispersed, what appeared was Lin Fei in full armored form.
"Warning! Massive energy detected!"
"Warning! Warning!"
"What?!"
The Taotie's energy detectors blared with shrill red alerts.
The squad leader stared at Lin Fei in terror.
This level of energy was far beyond what their small scouting unit could handle.
This wasn't an ordinary warrior—
"This is a god!"
"Retreat! Retreat immediately!"
"We must report this intelligence to King Wugui!"
The squad leader hastily issued the retreat order, completely abandoning any further probing.
A god was not something a handful of soldiers could deal with.
The remaining Taotie hurriedly mounted their flying boards, attempting to flee.
Unfortunately—
Lin Fei was faster.
"Trying to run? Did you ask my permission?"
His voice echoed among them.
One Taotie had barely widened its eyes when Lin Fei's fist slammed into its abdomen, its body folding like a shrimp.
A follow-up kick sent it flying away, motionless.
Two more Taotie were knocked down by Lin Fei's casual punches before they could even take off.
The last one—the squad leader—used the opening to leap onto his flying board and soar into the sky.
Lin Fei was just about to give chase.
"Watch this!"
A watermelon-sized sphere of magical energy slammed into the squad leader midair.
The power wasn't overwhelming, but it destabilized him completely. Screaming, he tumbled off his flying board and crashed to the ground.
Su Xiaoli withdrew her hands.
"Hmph. Don't underestimate me."
"That was a beautiful hit, Xiaoli!"
Lin Fei gave her a big thumbs-up.
"Hehe~"
Su Xiaoli smiled shyly.
Seeing the Taotie squad leader struggling to get up, Lin Fei immediately struck again, smashing his arm back down to the ground.
However, inside the Taotie's helmet, a confirmation message flashed—
Data transmission successful.
Lin Fei then looked toward Qiangwei's side of the battlefield.
Because of the squad leader's retreat order and the detection of Lin Fei's energy surge, the two Taotie fighting Qiangwei had attempted to escape as well.
Originally, Qiangwei had felt slightly constrained due to their combat ability and reactions.
But with a moment's lapse in their attention—
She emerged from a wormhole behind them and drove her dark alloy blade straight through one of their throats.
Both Taotie collapsed to the ground.
Just as the battle ended—
A very familiar, very second-hand voice echoed from the sky above.
"Your goddess has arrived!"
