"Dan aku 'kan berada di teras rumahmu."
Saat air engkau suguhkan, dan kita bicara tentang apa saja Di Jakarta. "
The chanting lyrics of "Konservatif" by The Adams from the radio faintly echoed and woke me that morning. I immediately got up and did my morning activities as usual. For some reason, that morning my curiosity grew even stronger. When the clock showed 6.45 in the morning, I was already ready to leave for campus. Coincidentally that morning I had an early class with a Super Killer Lecturer. So I made sure I would not be late to enter his class. Exactly at 7.30 I had already arrived on campus.
"Hey, unusual for you to already arrive on Campus?" greeted Mario, my classmate from orientation days. He was a Student of the Faculty of Economics.
"Yeah man, I have a morning class. And the lecturer is a killer. So I don't want to be late," I replied.
"So I'll go first then man. Next time let's eat together at the Economics canteen. See ya," I continued hurriedly.
"Alright, take care dude," Mario replied, somewhat surprised seeing me in a rush.
I then continued my journey to class at the Faculty of Engineering and arrived safely and right on time.
"Okay, so for this semester's major assignment you are required to conduct a Structural Calculation Analysis of a High-Rise Building with a minimum height of 15 floors or a Bridge with a minimum span of 200 meters. The report must be typed with 1 1/2 spacing and bound in hardcopy. Don't forget to use both existing methods. The calculations must be accompanied by actual data that you can obtain from a Planning Consultant. So starting now you must already look for which Building or Bridge you want to use as the object of calculation and contact the Planning Consultant. Next week I expect the proposal to be ready. And I will prepare an official cover letter from me," Pak Dani, the Killer Lecturer of the Structural Analysis course, explained at length about the major assignment for us.
"Do you all understand up to this point?" he asked.
"Understood Sir!" we shouted in response to his question.
"Okay then today's lecture ends here. If there are still questions regarding the assignment earlier, you may come to my office," Pak Dani said, ending the class that afternoon.
Without realizing it, I had followed the Structural Analysis class for four hours and the class ended with my head feeling hot, filled with various structural calculation formulas.
"Crazy that class earlier. My head's spinning," complained Adi, my close friend.
"Yeah, my head is burning too," I responded, agreeing with his complaint.
"Alright then hurry to the field. Orientation is about to start," Dea reminded.
"Okay, go ahead first. Me and Adi want to go to the canteen first to buy cold drinks. To cool this head a bit," I replied, then quickly rushed to the canteen with Adi.
After leaving the canteen, Adi and I immediately headed to the field where the orientation was held. I saw the line of the team I was mentoring already neatly formed. And Akmal was already standing by at the location. But suddenly my eyes were drawn to a beautiful and graceful figure. Her lovely face left me mesmerized. I almost fell after tripping over a stone because I was too absorbed in looking at her beauty.
"So Mal, have you briefed all our activities for today to them?" I asked Akmal while occasionally stealing glances toward the beautiful woman.
"All set dude. I've told them everything. We just need to start," Akmal answered.
"Alright then you start first. After the first rundown is finished, I'll take over," I asked Akmal.
Then without realizing it I drifted into a daydream. In my heart I was curious about that beautiful figure. I felt like yesterday I did not see her presence. Did she only join the orientation activities today? Or what? Various questions swirled in my mind. Until my daydream was broken by Akmal's remark.
"Dude, the first rundown is done. Continue with you. I'm going to the toilet for a bit," Akmal said as he walked away.
"Okay dude, I'll continue," I replied.
