Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 Efficacy

Gula countered, "Do you really think we can't develop a better formula?"

  "No."

Tang San slowly shook his head.

"The way you prepare medicine, so confident and composed, as if divinely inspired, shows an astounding grasp of its properties.

If we were to research a new formula, it would just be a matter of spending more time."

In Tang San's opinion, if Gula's talent in medicine were placed in the Tang Sect, he would undoubtedly be the perfect candidate for Elder of the Medicine Hall.

With a little learning, he could certainly innovate and develop more deadly poisons.

He really wanted to exchange ideas on poison-making with Gula, but unfortunately, he couldn't reveal his knowledge of poisons at the moment.

He was right; the Pokémon world has Poison-type Pokémon, and what's most needed to raise them is familiarity with toxins.

Gula's expertise in poisons was also master-level; combined with other skills, as long as he had the materials, it wouldn't be difficult to develop poisons that threatened even gods.

"That's right.

The golden age for Soul Masters is before twenty.

During this period, due to physical development and flexible thinking, their cultivation speed far exceeds that after twenty."

"The earlier you earn your first sum of money, the better you can lay a foundation."

After instructing Tang San, Gula lowered his voice, "Besides... who said we were going to give them the complete formula?"

He smiled slightly, "Remember that experiment before where the medicinal properties completely clashed, resulting in a pot of waste?"

Tang San suddenly realized, "You mean..."

Gula nodded, "Removing one ingredient to harmonize the medicinal properties immediately weakens the ointment's effect by 30%.

And in our expectations, a flawless ointment should separate the waste at the bottom of the pot during the refining process."

"Removing the harmonizing ingredient and mixing the waste with the ointment requires waiting for the body to automatically expel the waste, which often takes one to two days depending on individual constitution."

"But our bone-strengthening ointment can be taken indefinitely, maintaining peak training efficiency around the clock, so you don't need to worry about anyone catching up to us."

Gula understood Tang San's concerns; he felt the same way.

He wouldn't have released the formula if he wasn't confident of surpassing everyone. After all, he hadn't seen anyone else so selfless and altruistic; human nature is inherently selfish, and there's nothing to be ashamed of.

As for his explanation to Tang San, it was a mix of truth and falsehood.

Gula didn't release the complete formula simply to prepare another paper.

This was standard practice from his previous life—split a research result into multiple publications; splitting it into two was already a conscientious act.

It earned him twofold gratitude and faith from the world.

As for whether people would guess it, he did it intentionally.

Intelligent people wouldn't easily believe others; that wasn't Gula's goal anyway.

"It's good that you have a plan,"

  Tang San's expression softened.

As they chatted, the excess moisture in the ointment gradually evaporated.

Tang San put down the earthenware pot, picked up a dry bamboo strip, and carefully scraped off the ointment, taking only the upper half, which was a clear, bluish-green color.

The lower half contained mostly impurities and needed to be discarded.

However, if one didn't want to spend the money, the lower half of the ointment could still be used, but it wouldn't have the perfect quality for unlimited consumption; it would require time for the body to detoxify.

Gula and Tang San certainly wouldn't skimp on themselves, refusing to consume any impurities.

Tang San directly poured out the bottom, grayish-black ointment, and washed the earthenware pot clean with water.

Xiao Wu curiously leaned over, smelling the fragrance of the perfect ointment.

Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of white, turned her head, and saw several white rabbits in cages.

She pouted slightly, not very happy: "Why are you catching rabbits?"

Tang San told the truth: "The medicine needs to be tested; it can't be eaten by humans. Brother Gu suggested using animals to verify the efficacy."

Xiao Wu turned to Gula with a resentful gaze: "Can't we use other animals?

Are you doing this on purpose?"

"I don't have money.

Big Sister Xiao Wu is so powerful in the academy, do you want to sponsor us some?"

Gula didn't even look up, finishing the final revisions to his paper.

Xiao Wu pouted. She was so poor she could barely afford carrots, let alone sponsor money.

She had hoped to trick Gula into giving her some energy cubes, but Gula was as heartless as stone, showing no respect to the pretty girl.

Xiao Wu snorted, turned to look at Tang San, clasped her hands together, her pink eyes crinkling, and pitifully begged: "Little San, can I try some of the ointment? Please."

Tang San couldn't resist Xiao Wu's coquettish offensive and decisively handed her the ointment he had just put into the jade box.

  "Pathetic simp."

Gula muttered under his breath.

Tang San had heard Gula mention simps before, and suddenly being teased, he scratched his head helplessly, a blush appearing on his face.

Embarrassed, he turned back to process the herbs and start refining the ointment.

Xiao Wu glared at Gula: "Don't bully Xiao San! He's so well-behaved, much better than you, you stingy miser!"

Saying this, she gently scooped out a little ointment with her finger, opened her mouth, and swallowed the cool, citrusy flavor.

It was sweet and delicious, making her squint her eyes and happily wiggle her scorpion-tail braid.

Tang San worked even harder, his efficiency in experiments increasing by 50% compared to usual.

Gula was speechless. Seeing Tang San's "shy" expression after being praised, he sighed and shook his head.

Neither of them had ever been in a relationship in their previous lives; how could the difference be so vast?

It seemed he needed to teach Tang San some dating experience sometime, to prevent him from being swayed by bad women, and to focus on doing experiments with him properly.

Being pure and innocent should remain pure and innocent; dating was such a waste of time.

Gula instructed his clone to help him recall the dating bible he had read in his previous life, determined to guide Tang San onto the right path.

Tang San felt a chill run down his spine, shivered, and his gaze sharpened instantly, a purple glint appearing in his eyes as he suspiciously surveyed his surroundings.

Finding nothing amiss, he lowered his head again to continue.

Xiao Wu swallowed the three-finger-sized ointment, and the first dose began to take effect.

She felt a surge of heat throughout her body, her skin gradually reddening, as if an abundant energy within her needed to be released.

  "So hot, so hot!"

Xiao Wu exclaimed anxiously, sticking out her tongue. "Is there something wrong with this medicine? It's so uncomfortable."

Tang San, with his strong mental fortitude, had already regained his composure and reminded her, "The main ingredient of this ointment is Bone Jade Bamboo.

Brother Gu discovered that when several medicinal herbs are mixed, Bone Jade Bamboo develops the property of attracting the spiritual energy of heaven and earth."

"Even if this property is very weak, it can significantly enhance the medicinal properties, offsetting the damage the medicine does to a Soul Master's potential, and maintaining high-intensity training for a period of time." "

Xiao Wu, you can go outside to train. The amount you took, about fifteen minutes of full-force training, will exhaust its medicinal power."

Tang San explained in detail, afraid that Xiao Wu might not understand.

Xiao Wu completely misunderstood what was said before, only noticing the final fifteen minutes of exercise.

She immediately cried out, "No!

I don't want to exercise! Why didn't you tell me sooner, Xiao San?

I wouldn't have been so greedy!"
