Chapter 13 - The Breaking Point (R-18)

"Scott couldn't handle your beauty alone," Varg sneered, grabbing himself and stroking it slowly, forcing her to watch. "He's a withered old man. But I... I can fill you up until you break."

He grabbed her hips, pulling her suspended body towards him, positioning the head of his dick against her slick pussy.

He didn't enter her yet; but just rubbed against her wet pink pussy, teasing, letting the heat of his dick sear against her sensitive flesh.

"Tell me you want it," he whispered, his hips grinding slowly against hers. "Beg me, and maybe I'll go easy on you."

Elara's mind was fracturing.

The heat, the friction, the overwhelming chemical need. It was drowning out the voice of her reason.

She tried to shake her head, to say no, but all that came out was a broken sob.

Elara turned her face away, sobbing uncontrollably, her spirit fracturing under the assault. She felt dirty, broken.

"I'm going to tell Scott…" she whispered, grasping at the last straw of her sanity, trying to summon the image of her husband to give her strength. "He'll… kill you."

"Scott is dead!" Varg roared, suddenly angry at the mention of the Lord he despised.

He slapped her across the face, a stinging blow that snapped her head to the side.

A few minutes earlier, Scott on the other hand who had finished upgrading Alistair and others was about to leave the healing chambers with a happy smile on his face.

However, just as his hand touched the heavy wooden door to leave, he paused.

A nagging curiosity, the instinct of a gamer who needs to see the final stats after a big upgrade, made him turn back one last time.

He focused on the old man Alistair, wanting to see the final result of his work.

The updated panels shimmered into view, and the data was as exaggerated as he expected.

Looking through, Scott found that the attribute increase brought to others using his Upgrade ability seemed to have been halved compared to his.

This also made him sigh with some relief, that one day even if someone plans on betraying him after receiving his help, he can easily overpower them.

But his moment of happiness was interrupted by a sudden sound.

It was faint, muffled by the thick roots and layers of earth above him, but his current senses that are comparable to Second Ordered Spore man picked it up instantly.

"WE HAVE AN INTRUDER..!!" The scream was distant but filled with undeniable panic.

Scott's eyes narrowed. "That voice… It sounded like Aunt Jorunn."

"An intruder?" Scott frowned. "Just after the zombie attack? Is someone targeting the camp?"

"But why?" He didn't hesitate. He grabbed his spear, which had been leaning against the wall of the chamber. It felt lighter now, almost weightless in his grip.

He sprinted towards the exit of the healing caves.

As he ran, his movements were explosive. With every step, he covered meters of ground, his Level 5 Bull's Frame propelling him forward with frightening speed.

He burst out of the underground tunnel and onto the main wooden walkway of the camp.

Chaos erupted outside. Torches were being lit everywhere. The remaining few uninjured guards were running back and forth, swords drawn.

"Seal the gates!" Leo was shouting near the lift. "Don't let anyone out!"

Scott slowed to a jog, his sudden appearance stopping several villagers in their tracks.

"Lord Scott?" a guard gasped, his eyes widening.

They were expecting to see a withered, dying invalid.

Instead, they saw a man who looked younger, stronger, and more dangerous than he had ever been.

His skin was flush, his eyes sharp and glowing with a faint white light.

Jorunn, who was shouting orders near the edge of the platform, turned around. Her face was a mask of terror and rage, but when she saw Scott, she froze.

"Scott?" she breathed, running over to him. She grabbed his arm, her grip trembling as she inspected him from head to toe. "You… you're awake? You're healed?"

"I'm fine," Scott said, his voice calm but authoritative. "What's happening, Aunt Jorunn? Who is the intruder?"

Jorunn's face immediately crumbled with worry.

"It's my fault, I should have been more careful… it's Elara," she choked out. "I can't find her. Someone took her from your room."

Scott stood there shocked, as his blood ran cold. The warmth of his upgrade vanished, replaced by an icy, lethal stillness.

"Taken?" Scott asked, his voice dropping an octave. "When?"

"Just now," Jorunn pointed to the open window of the treehouse above. "I found a bamboo tube with Siren Mushroom powder. She was drugged. I... I can't find her tracks."

Siren Mushroom. A drug used to incapacitate and... heat the body. As soon as he heard the words, memories related to the drug surfaced in his mind.

A red haze of fury threatened to cloud Scott's vision, but he forced it down. Unnecessary panic wouldn't save her.

"Clear the way," Scott ordered, stepping past Jorunn.

He closed his eyes and focused on his trace gene Fungal Acuity…

He opened his eyes. The world shifted. Textures became sharper. Heat signatures and energy trails became visible faint lines in the air.

However, level 0 Fungal Acuity wasn't of much help… the perception improvement provided by the current Fungal Acuity was just 5%, it gave him nothing but a headache and a vague sense of dampness.

He couldn't distinguish Elara's scent from the thousands of other organic smells in the forest.

"Dammit!" Scott cursed inwardly. "It's too noisy. I need more precision."

"System, show me Mnemonic Gene Spores!" he commanded in his mind, ignoring the confused looks of the guards around him.

The blue panel snapped into existence, hovering over Jorunn's terrified face.

[ Mnemonic Gene Spores: ]

[ Trace: Lvl 0 Fungal Acuity +5%] (Exp: 1535/50)
