Mei adjusted her glasses, "You're here specifically for me, on Dr. Mobius's request?"
Elysia leaned forward slightly, her hands clasped behind her back. "That's right~" She drew out the word. "It's not often Mobius asks for my help."
She gave the two of them a brief rundown of MOTH's situation and their intention to invite Mei to join.
'This Mei is quite the beauty too. I should find some time to get to know her properly♪~'
Elysia thought to herself.
"Well…"
Mei lowered her head in thought for a moment. "Can I have some time to consider?"
"But of course~" Elysia replied with a cheerful wave. "It's entirely your choice."
Her gaze swept between Mei and Kevin. "You two can discuss it first~"

Kevin and Mei walked to a corner of the corridor, momentarily alone.
"Mei, are you really going to join that organization? Something about it just feels… off to me…"
Kevin's brow was deeply furrowed, his blue eyes filled with worry.
Mei let out a soft sigh. "Relax, Kevin. It'll be fine. The fact that they're willing to escort us to a safe place shows they aren't bad people."
In truth, Mei had her own calculations.
This series of catastrophes had made her realize the world was undergoing—or had already undergone—some fundamental change.
She understood quite clearly that a brand new world was waiting for her ahead.
And that organization called MOTH was the crucial path into that new world.
"So, I will join them…"
Mei's voice was quiet, but firm.
Kevin stared at Mei for a few seconds before his expression relaxed into a smile. "Is that how it is… Then I'll go with you."
He understood exactly what Mei wanted. The relentless turmoil had changed the heart of the once sunny youth as well.
"No, Kevin, you don't have to come with me."
"Mei!"
Kevin suddenly stepped forward and wrapped his arms tightly around her. "I told you, I'll always stay by your side, protect you…"
Mei's cheek rested against Kevin's chest, listening to the steady beat of his heart. "Kevin…"
[Tsk tsk…]
Meanwhile, with Elysia and Vya.
"Vya~ How about you go back to see big sister Mobius with Abby and Abel next?"
"But Vya wants to stay with big sister…"
"Be a good girl for me, okay?~ Big sister still has a mission to finish."
Elysia affectionately ruffled Vya's hair.
"Ah… alright then…"
Vya ultimately chose to be obedient.
"What a good girl~"
Elysia planted a kiss on her forehead.
"We've decided…"
Mei and Kevin walked over.
They would join MOTH, and Kevin had decided to go with Mei…
"Excellent! Abby, Abel, I leave them to you."
"Yes, Captain Elysia!"
The two replied in unison.
"Bye-bye, big sister…"
Vya was still a little reluctant.
"See you later~ Go back and be good, I'll be back soon, understood?"
"Mhm! Understood."
Watching the scene, Kevin and Mei shared a smile. The bond between those sisters was truly something…

Approximately half a day later, at the MOTH base.
A rare sight appeared—Mobius had actually left her laboratory at this hour.
Klein followed quietly behind her, feeling a bit puzzled.
Though she'd only been with Mobius for a few days, she'd already gotten a good grasp of the doctor's habits—she could usually stay holed up in her lab for days on end without leaving.
Klein didn't dare ask. She simply waited with Mobius.
Before long, Abbie and Abel arrived with Vya, Kevin, and Mei in tow.
"A wise choice, Mei."
Mobius's voice carried a hint of amusement.
"Thank you, Dr. Mobius." Mei gave a slight bow.
"It's nothing." Mobius waved a hand dismissively. "Your abilities warrant it. You're the kind of talent MOTH needs."

After giving a few simple instructions, her gaze shifted to the young man standing behind Mei.
"Tsk… Your boyfriend?"
Mobius raised an eyebrow.
"Looks a bit dim. Mediocre taste, Mei."
"..."
Kevin was rendered speechless.
"Dr. Mobius…"
Mei began, somewhat awkwardly.
"Alright, take the kid away for now. I have matters to discuss with Mei."
"Mei…"
Kevin started to speak but held back, his expression complex but mostly concerned.
"Don't worry, Kevin. I'll come find you soon."
Mei offered him a reassuring smile.
"Okay…"
After Kevin left.
"Not bad. He seems to listen to you well enough."
Mobius continued her assessment.
"Doctor, could we perhaps not talk about this?"
"Come. We'll talk at my place."
"Oh… alright."
Before leaving, Mobius left an instruction for Klein.
"Klein, you keep Vya company. Don't come back for a while."
"Yes, Doctor."
Naturally, Vya and Klein hadn't been able to get a word in while the others were talking.
"Sister Klein, what do big sister Mobius and big sister Mei have to talk about?"
Vya asked curiously.
"I don't know."
Klein answered somewhat helplessly. After all, Mobius never explained her actions to her.
"Alright."
Vya was still thinking about Elysia.
Returning to the disaster itself—such a massive commotion naturally meant a Herrscher… the third Herrscher had already been born, right there in Nagazora.
It was nothing short of a miracle that Kevin and Mei had managed to escape the epicenter alive.
And it wasn't just the Far East; coastal regions of Shenzhou were also disaster zones.
Klein wasn't sure how to look after a child, so she could only take her for a walk around the base. But the base was rather empty, as most combat personnel had already been deployed.
The sound of their footsteps echoed in the metallic corridors.

"Sister Blanca~"
"Senior."
After wandering around, they decided to seek out Blanca, as she was at least somewhat familiar.
Blanca was pushing a stroller in the rest area and looked surprised to see them. "What brings you two here?"
But a smile quickly spread across her face.
"The Doctor has matters to discuss. She asked me to look after Vya."
"Mhm, mhm, that's right!" Vya nodded vigorously.
"Alright then, you can stay here and keep me and little Griseo company."
"Yay~"
Vya happily skipped over to the stroller.
The little Griseo in the crib smiled as soon as she saw Vya, reaching out a tiny hand.
Vya carefully took the small hand, afraid of hurting the baby.
A faint, pure white light still emanated from little Griseo—so pristine and flawless it made one instinctively want to protect her. Vya was no exception.
"Hello there, little sister Griseo~" Vya whispered.
"Sis… ter…" Griseo babbled indistinctly.
"Wow, little sister Griseo called me 'sister'~"
Vya laughed joyfully.
It was just as Elysia had said—the feeling of being called 'sister' was absolutely the best!
Blanca and Klein chatted about matters concerning Mobius.
"So, how are you adjusting?" Blanca asked.
"Very well, Senior Blanca."
"And how do you find the Doctor?" Blanca inquired with a smile.
Klein thought for a moment. "Dr. Mobius is… a good person. Even if she doesn't show it much…"
"Haha, that's good to hear." Blanca nodded with a smile.
