Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Blood in the Garden of Paradise

The scene within the void was beyond anything Luca could have imagined. It wasn't a dark dungeon, but a breathtakingly beautiful garden. Flowers that belonged to no known world bloomed everywhere—their petals felt like velvet, and their scent was intoxicating enough to numb the soul. It looked like a piece of heaven, but the horror unfolding amidst this beauty turned Luca's blood to ice.

In the center of the garden, a boy sat as still as a stone monument, as if he were part of the silence of the blooming flowers. Beside him, in a bed of vibrant blossoms, stood another boy. His face was like that of an innocent angel, but his heavy boot was crushing the chest of a half-dead man lying on the grass. He was pressing down with such remorseless force that the sound of snapping ribs echoed clearly through the quiet garden. There was no mercy in the boy's eyes, only a deep, cold boredom.

Suddenly, a shadow lunged forward, cutting through the floral fragrance. A hand reached out with lightning speed, grabbing the boy's ear and yanking him back forcefully.

"Celestial! How long are you going to keep up this act of being deaf?" the third boy roared. The name thundered through the serene valley like a bolt of lightning. "Can your mind not find an easier way? Always this bloodshed? Stop these pathetic games and whims of yours! Don't bring your 'fun' into such serious matters! Do you think this is all a joke?"

Celestial's head snapped back. His brother's grip on his ear was firm, but a smile spread across Celestial's lips that made Luca tremble to his core. It was a smile so sweet, as if he were a child watching a butterfly in the garden.

"My dear brother..." Celestial's voice flowed like cold honey. "Why so much anger? I am merely playing a small game. How could I ever dare to ignore your words? I wasn't going to give him a grand punishment... I was just entertaining myself for a moment."

Before the words could even settle in the air, the sword in Celestial's hand rose with blinding speed. Without a second thought, without a flicker of an eyelid, he plunged the cold steel straight through the chest of the man lying on the delicate flowers. The sound of tearing flesh shrieked through the silent garden.

As the blade sank deeper and blood began to stain the beautiful petals a deep crimson, Celestial looked at his brother with a hollow void in his eyes and spoke in a hauntingly calm tone:

"Brother... but do you really feel nothing bad for this? The truth is... I don't feel anything either."
