It wasn't until third period that Isadora showed up to class. The bags under her eyes was enough indication that she hadn't gotten much sleep. That made the two of us.
She didn't say a word as she slid into the seat beside me.
After so much thinking the night before, I'd concluded that the only person that could've taken the diary and brought it back was Isadora.
First, she was the only person that had access to Ms. Duval's apartment. I'd found it on the floor, close to the door. She might've wanted to take it with her only to drop it. And she knew the only other person that could've taken it was me.
My room wasn't the hardest place to access. She could've easily slipped in while me and Charlotte were away. And when she saw there wasn't much written in the diary, she brought it back.
The timeline made perfect sense. She would've had the time to sneak it under my pillow after she stormed out of Ms. Duval's apartment.
I turned to her. "Where did you go last night?"
