The sky was getting darker, and the old manor was so silent at that moment. Jeffrey Fu changed his attire and intended to enter the house silently. When he arrived at the main gate, he saw a car parked in front of the manor. A couple was making out intimately out there. The man seemed
to have necked with the woman for long, passionate hours.
Perhaps, the couple sensed his movement. They stopped kissing and turned to look at him.
"Are you?" Under the dim streetlight, the boy's expression changed drastically the moment he saw Jeffrey Fu. His voice turned nervous as well. "Are you Jeffrey Fu?"
Jeffrey looked inscrutably at the boy. He then raised his eyebrows and asked, "You are?"
The boy did not answer his question. The girl beside him stepped forth and took a good look at Jeffrey under the dim light.She then asked pensively, "Quintin, is this Jeffrey, the long-lost brother that your family just found?"
Quintin replied with a hum. Before he could say anything, the girl sneered, "He looks so wild and exceptionally ordinary. He does not possess the charisma of a noble man of the Fu family at all..."
"Who are you to determine whether I possess the charisma of a noble or not?"Jeffrey countered her with a sarcastic smile.
"You!" The girl frowned and asked him with displeasure, "Do you know who I am?"
"Who cares? It is none of my business!" Jeffrey snorted. He did not give a damn at all.
The girl was so angry that she still intended to argue with Jeffrey Fu. However, Quintin stopped her, "Sera, I think you should go back first..."
" Well then. I will go back first. Call me if there is anything..." said the girl as she raised on her tiptoes and pecked the man's lips.
Then she gazed at Jeffrey coldly and said in a low tone, "Arrogant country bumpkin!"
Jeffrey replied with a hum gently as he watched her go off.
The moment he saw Jeffrey walk away with his backpack, he shouted hurriedly, "Hold it right there, Jeffrey.."
Jeffrey halted as he asked with displeasure, "Anything else?"
"You just came back today. Where did you go?"
Jeffrey continued his journey without replying. However, he was stopped by Quintin again. "Who permitted you to go?"
Without waiting for Jeffrey to respond, Quintin counter-attacked him. Then he said as he gasped, "You just came back today. If you leave just like that, grandma will not be happy with it..."
Before Jeffrey could understand the situation, he saw the lights to the old manor turn on all of a sudden.
Forrest rushed out hurriedly in his coat and shouted, "Mister Fu, where have you been? Your grandmother asked you to see her now?"
Jeffrey had no choice but followed Forrest back to the old manor helplessly. Quintin followed closely behind them too. They came to the side hall where all the lights were turned on.
"Madam, Jeffrey Fu and Quintin Fu are here..."
Forrest said to Julianne Fu, who took a sip of her hot milk on the table in a low tone.
Julianne nodded her head slightly and put down the cup in her hand. She frowned when she took a look at Jeffrey who was carrying his backpack, and Quintin who came in together with them.
"Jeffrey, you just came back. Why are you leaving in such a hurry? Is there anything that you are not satisfied with?"
"I am not dissatisfied with anything. Just that, I have something urgent to attend to.."
Jeffrey told his grandmother the truth honestly as he shook his head. He did not want to show that there was nothing that he was reluctant to part with, as it would definitely hurt his grandmother's feelings badly.
"Grandma, when I came back just now, I bumped into brother, who intended to leave the house. Fortunately, I managed to stop him in time.. "
