— YUUTA MISAKI —
The vast hall of pillars towered over Yuuta as he passed through the narrow corridor.
He had already been in this other world for two weeks now, learning more and more about it with each passing day.
The land he currently lived in was called Einheit, a union of several races. Its king was always elected and ruled for life.
Ahead of him, two steps led down into a lowered section at the center of the massive temple. Ankle-deep water filled the basin. Ajax was standing within it and raised her head as Yuuta came to a stop before her.
"You have returned, Hero," she acknowledged him. She briefly stretched her wings, an impressive sight. "Did you find her?"
Yuuta's conscience gnawed at him. Over the past two weeks, he had barely found the time to search for any wolf girl at all. Just as he was about to answer, the bird woman interrupted him.
"You don't need to say anything," her voice carried a hint of sadness. "I have seen the path you walk. The politicians have entangled you in their interests, haven't they?"
Yuuta nodded. "That's true." He wondered how she was able to perceive his actions. Was it because of her covered eyes?
"But I've also spent a lot of time in dungeons and completed several quests. I've already reached a decent level."
The woman frowned. Yuuta found it difficult to keep his eyes in check because of her beautiful physique.
"Level? What is that supposed to be?"
"You don't know?" Yuuta asked. "Whenever I defeat monsters, I gain EXP and level up."
With a specific gesture, he summoned his interface.

Main Quest: Find the small wolf girl who is accompanied by Death and, together with her, the six Entities.

At the mention of her words, the number of side quests painfully caught Yuuta's eye.
"You are occupying yourself with many unnecessary things," Ajax commented calmly.
Her words pierced his conscience. After all, he had not been summoned here for leisure, but to find the small wolf girl.
"That's true," he admitted guiltily. "But I don't know where to search, and so far I haven't found any girl like that."
"I have no objection to you becoming stronger," Ajax assured him. "Do what you believe is right. But do not forget your mission."
"Yes," Yuuta replied, glancing once more at the small addition written beneath his main quest.
It felt strange to him. Back then, she hadn't spoken about six Entities at all—yet they were clearly listed in his quest now. Yuuta decided to ask.
"Ajax," he swallowed. "What are the six Entities?"
For a moment, Ajax remained silent. Had he asked something he shouldn't have? Or had she simply not heard him?
"I don't know," she finally replied. "Why do you ask?"
"Oh, it's nothing," Yuuta said evasively and closed his interface. "I read it somewhere."
Ajax appeared uneasy. "Do not show anyone this special magic of yours. It could make you a target."
The bird woman stepped out of the water and onto solid ground. Her talons scraped against the stone floor.
Yuuta watched her, unsettled. Why would he need to be cautious just because of the interface magic, as she called it?
"Yuuta," Ajax called out as she reached the end of the hall. A wooden door stood before her, which she opened with a creak.
"Have you already traveled to the cities and villages below?"
Thoughtfully, Yuuta looked at her, recalling the adventures he had shared with several guild members. All of them, however, were from the capital he currently resided in.
"No," he admitted. "Should I go there?"
"Yes," she answered sharply. "You may come closer to fulfilling your task there."
She disappeared behind the door, letting it slam shut behind her.
Yuuta now stood there alone.
He knew he had been enjoying this isekai adventure far too much. But he had to focus on his main mission. Ajax had made that clear once again—and he wanted to meet her expectations.
Yuuta turned around and left the temple.
