It wasn't until noon the next day did Qingxuan show signs of awakening from his slumber. Sprawled out within a small crater, his right leg twitched first and then his fingers and then the young boy sat up abruptly, grasping his chest, feeling a little tightness within.
"Fuck.." He cursed out softly, and let out a breath, calming his beating heart. His mind was now rebooting but he was very sure he had been struck by lightning. He coughed.
Struck by lightning and somehow he was still alive? 'What the hell is going on?' Qingxuan rubbed parts of his body to see if he was hurt anywhere, but surprisingly there was nothing. Other than the tightness in his chest, he felt absolutely nothing.
Shrugging, he pushed himself to his feet and began to rub his eyelids of his closed eyes. But right then and there, Qingxuan paused. Completely stupefied, he froze in shock. Since he was reincarnated into this body, the only thing he had seen and experienced from his vision was the night. Darkness itself.
But as he rubbed his eye, he felt something. No he saw something. Something bright. Was this really happening? Hope surged within him, but he calmed himself. He had experienced this before and it all led to one outcome, disappointment and darkness.
He took a deep breath and slowly forced his left eyelid opened, and right then and there his mouth gaped in shock.
Colours. He saw colours. Light flourished and then he saw everything. The forests, the trees, everything.
"Fuck yeah!!!!" He exclaimed in joy, and basked in the beauty of sight until he felt something wrong. He wasn't blind in his previous life, hence he knew what was the normal limits of human sight.
What he was experiencing right now wasn't normal human sight.
Colours exploded into various varieties around him. He wasn't just seeing. He was experiencing the world in its truest form. He hiccuped in shock. Sight was manifesting itself to him like a supernatural experience. Not just things in front of him, he was seeing everything around him, in vivid microscopic detail. A complete 360 degrees vision with microscopic detail.
Qingxuan don't even know what to say, his mouth kept opening and closing and no words came out.
His gaze could peer so far to even see his courtyard, and the entirety of the branch family along with everyone present. As for how far he could see he could not even gauge at this moment due to his shock.
The moment his right eye fluttered open, he almost dropped to his butt in fear.
He saw something else entirely in this eye. The world and its structures seemed to disappear. The trees, the ground, everything seemed to disappear and in its place he saw what words couldn't describe.
Motes of golden light seemed to coalesce into the what would've been the structures of matter if he was seeing normally.
'Is this Yuan power?" He stumbled back in fear. He rubbed both eyes and pinched himself in shock. Why was happening to him was unprecedented. Even in this world, it was unheard of.
He was seeing the Yuan power of Heaven and Earth. And he was just seeing it. He was seeing it to incredible detail. He saw how particles of this Yuan Qi came together to form the structures that his left eye would classify as matter.
His eyes weren't just seeing, they were interpreting, analyzing and calculating every single thing within their field of vision and pushing the information straight into his brain.
Qingxuan paused for a moment and took a deep breath and then closed his eyes. To his shock, even with them closed, his vision was still active, except he couldn't see into the microscopic details unlike when they were opened.
He opened his eyes, and the world changed around him again. One part of his vision took in and interpreted the vivid structures around him, what they were made of and what they could be, while the other part of his vision explained the amount of Yuan power that made up every iota of matter he was seeing. Matter and energy dual vision? He questioned himself.
Raising his head to the sky, he saw an mighty eagle like creature fly deep within the stratosphere, with its prey, a huge python caught within its massive talons, a sight no normal human would've been able to capture.
Without even turning around, he spotted a large tree behind him that was almost 200m from where he was standing and the detail he could see on that tree was insane. From the complex structures that made up the tree itself to the vivid particles of energy that constituted the tree's spiritual nature.
Every single thing in this world was made out of flesh (matter) and soul (spirit). And Qingxuans eyes allowed him to accurately discern the flesh of everything around him and even breakdown the spirit aspect.
"Hahaha!!" He whipped his head backwards and then laughed like a madman.
His arms spread out, as he basked in his vision, information spreading to him as he analysed what his eyes saw and what they didn't.
He began to spin on his feet like a happy child who has been given a toy and then fell in a garden of leaves and flowers as his gaze pierced into the distant sky.
"What a wonderful feeling." He laughed to himself deliriously. As he lay there, embracing that wonderful feeling, a small insect flew past his gaze.
"What a weird creature.." He smiled as he made out the extreme microscopic details almost everyone would miss due to its extremely small size that would be unseen to the naked eye. The stripes on its wings, its abnormally long proboscis, the hair on its legs and even its larger than head eyes that continually stared at him. And he did it all in relatively slow motion, as if the world itself had come to a crawl.
He raised his finger, ready to touch it, as it flew past him in seeming slow motion until he paused and turned to his own arm.
His eyes widened in surprise. He saw tendrils of faint golden Yuan Qi flowing within his meridians and then he sat up. Turning his gaze inward, he saw his dantian, hidden below his navel, and then he saw its shiny state as it pulsed with Yuan power.
"I can cultivate?! This is the 2nd layer of the tempered body Realm!!" The reality dawned on him slowly and then he burst out into a sardonic laugh, as tears welled up within his eyes.
After years of struggle and pain, everything had changed so quickly.
But right then and there, a small headache assaulted him. Too much information being filtered, poured and interpreted into his brain brought a discomfort that he could not ignore. Whilst his eyes were divine, unfortunately his brain was not.
He quickly closed his eyes and let out a breath. Even while closed, he could still see matter and energy in 360 degrees vision in detail, but when closed, the efficiency of his eyes were reduced to less than 50 percent.
He stood up, dusted his clothes and felt a foul smell assault him.
"Ew! I need a bath.." Feeling his nose assaulted by the stench from his own armpit he headed to a small river for a bath.
Upon reaching the water, he raised a brow in surprise when he saw his reflection.
He was tall and lean, almost frail, with pale white skin, a conventionally handsome face, that would've been the talk of the town in his previous life and most surprisingly he had long hair which was divided in the middle into a deep black and a pure silver shade on both sides.
"My hair. It's changed too. I look like a Korean model back on Earth" He laughed softly and then slowly opened his eyes to see what they looked like.
"Jesus!" He fell to his butt, not believing what he was seeing in the water. So he crawled back to see his eyes again and he gaped in shock once more.
His left eye was a deep black sclera, that seemed to be crawling with only black darkness and shadows, while the faint outline of a silver crescent moon hung within, giving it an ominous feeling, as if it was the eye of an ancient devil.
His right eye on the other hand was a resplendent gold, like the sun itself, with the faint elliptic bow like the sun hanging within, like the eye of a Supreme God.
He closed them abruptly and then sat back down in deep thought.
"My eyes. I absolutely must not reveal them unless I'm in dire conditions.." Qingxuan understood the philosophy of this world. Dog eat dog. From the moment he was reincarnated he understood certain things. Being an avid manga and novel reader in his youth, he knew what fictional worlds were, he just didn't know which one he was in at the moment.
He knew what having treasures like his eyes meant with his weak strength. He knew the implications. Just by virtue of bearing treasures, one became a natural target due to envy. He needed strength to be able to protect himself from becoming a fish on someone's chopping board.
With that, he jumped into the river and took a bath.
After dressing up, he tore up a piece of his robe and the turned it into a blindfold, covering the upper part of his face and tying his black and white hair backwards giving him a mysterious and handsome look.
It was time for his life to truly begin and Qingxuan knew he was going to make the most out of it.
A/N: Enjoy the chapter. And merry Christmas to you all.
