Chapter 10 - Chapter 10:Wolves Fall, and the Sea Runs Quiet

The sea was calm when Shamrock sensed it.

A pressure in the distance, crude and loud, layered with greed and arrogance—a pirate ship, cutting across the waves without caution. He adjusted the sails slightly, eyes narrowing as his Observation stretched outward.

"Forty million berries," he said calmly.

Zoey, lounging near the mast, perked up immediately.

"Oh? That's a decent one," she said, a grin spreading across her face. "Want me to take the left side or the right?"

Shamrock didn't answer.

He stepped onto the railing.

The air cracked.

Both of them vanished.

They landed on the pirate ship's deck like falling blades, wood splintering beneath their feet as dozens of pirates froze in disbelief, staring at two children who had descended from the sky.

"Where the hell did they come from?!"

"Did they just—fly?!"

The captain stepped forward, tall and broad, scars running down his neck, a cruel smile forming on his face.

"Who are you brats?" he demanded. "And how did you get here?"

Zoey tilted her head, resting her sword casually on her shoulder.

"We're pirate hunters," she said cheerfully. "We're here to kill you and take your bounty."

For a moment, there was silence.

Then the deck erupted with laughter.

"Hahaha! Two kids?!" the captain roared. "Kill them!"

The crew rushed forward.

They never stood a chance.

Zoey moved first, her blade flashing in wide, elegant arcs as bodies dropped one after another, blood spraying across the deck while she danced through the chaos with ruthless precision. Shamrock followed in silence, Soru carrying him through gaps in the crowd as his sword struck cleanly, efficiently, without wasted motion.

In less than a minute, the deck was soaked red.

Only the captain remained.

His laughter was gone.

"…You monsters," he growled.

His body began to shift.

Bones cracked loudly as fur burst through his skin, muscles swelling violently as his form expanded upward, tearing through clothes and armor. His face elongated into a snarling muzzle, sharp fangs glistening with saliva, claws extending like hooked blades.

A Dire Wolf stood where the man had been—three meters tall, eyes burning with feral rage.

He was the user of "inu inu no mi–model dire wolf"

Zoey whistled.

"Big puppy."

The Dire Wolf lunged for her.

Shamrock intercepted.

Steel rang as claw met blade, the impact ripping a shockwave through the air.

Shamrock slid back a step, then twisted sharply, his sword flashing downward as he severed one massive claw cleanly from the wolf's hand.

The captain howled, staggering back, blood spraying across the deck.

Shamrock didn't give him time to recover.

He vanished—Soru—then reappeared at the wolf's flank, slashing horizontally with Ragna as the blade carved deep across the captain's chest, opening a massive gash from shoulder to ribs.

The Dire Wolf screamed, clawing at the air desperately.

"You just made yourself a bigger target then again it was of no use" Shamrock said quietly.

One final step.

One clean swing.

The head fell.

Silence followed.

Zoey stared for a moment, then nodded approvingly.

They looted the ship quickly—gold, weapons, supplies—and transferred everything onto their own vessel before setting fire to the pirate ship, watching it sink beneath the waves.

"Add forty million," Zoey said happily.

Shamrock nodded.

"Let's move."

—————

Two days later—

Swallow Island rose from the horizon.

High cliffs. Stone docks. Watchtowers lining the coast. Armed guards patrolled constantly, rifles and swords gleaming in the sun.

Zoey leaned against the rail, eyes sharp.

"That's a lot of guards how will we go about it"

"Not enough," Shamrock replied. "We clear the coast first. Then we go in head-on."

They docked quietly at one of the outer piers.

A man in a black suit approached, hand resting near his gun.

"This is Capone territory," he snapped. "Who are you, and why are you here?"

Shamrock stepped forward.

"I'm here to erase the Capone family."

The man's face twisted with rage as he reached for his weapon—

Steel flashed.

His head hit the ground before the gun cleared its holster.

Zoey smiled slowly.

"Guess that answers his question."

They moved.

Swift. Silent. Relentless.

Guard towers fell one by one as bodies dropped without warning, Zoey cutting through squads with brutal elegance while Shamrock advanced like an executioner, blades and Rankyaku tearing through defenses, blood washing the docks red.

Gunfire echoed briefly—

Then stopped.

The coastline went quiet.

Zoey wiped her blade and looked toward the inner island, eyes gleaming.

"Well," she said lightly, "that was easy."

Shamrock stared toward the heart of Swallow Island.

"This was just the entrance."

And with that, they stepped forward—toward the core of the Capone family.
