Chapter 41 - Chapter 41 Maybe it wasn't her

"Samuel."

Samuel paused, his expression furious like never before.

Lily unconsciously took two steps back.

"Who told you to come?"

"I..." Her eyes blinked. "I just want to apologize."

The man's eyes were cold, her scalp numb as he stared at her, "You want to apologize? Are you here to apologize or to let us draw a line?"

Lily suddenly raised her head, her expression suddenly changed, "You... why do you think of me like that?" After speaking, tears rolled down her cheeks.

In the past, seeing her cry, Samuel would step forward to comfort her, but now, his heart was filled with endless anger.

"Oliver, take Lily away."

"Samuel, what happened to you recently? Natalie clearly lied to us, but you don't know. Why are you treating me like this?" Lily cried and complained.

But the man in front of her was determined not to talk to her anymore, and after Oliver walked out, he strode away.

Looking at his decisive appearance, Lily's eyes flared with ferocity.

He had been getting more and more impatient with her recently. Had he begun to doubt her?

Thinking of this, her eyes suddenly widened. She would never let them go easy.

That night, the welcome party hosted by the Brooks family was the center of attention.

Netizens were all amazed and envious of the lavish party, but the blessings were inevitably mixed with gossip.

As for Natalie, she immediately became the target of pursuit by the upper-class young masters.

Countless people came to propose, but Nathaniel stopped them all because she had no intention of getting married for the time being.

Although the news didn't reach the ears of the insiders, Zoe was still very clear about the influence of last night's party.

"Natalie, do you know what you've become in the group now?"

Natalie didn't care much about the gossip in the group, nor did she participate much, so she shook her head.

She clicked her tongue twice and said exaggeratedly: "You're like a sweet potato now, everyone is fighting over it, if Brother Brooks hadn't stopped you from going out, your doorstep would have been smashed."

"What are you talking about?" A low voice suddenly sounded.

Her voice suddenly disappeared, she turned her head desperately and met a warning gaze: "Brother Brooks."

Natalie stood up straight, glanced at her brother, and lazily asked, "Brother, why are you here?"

Normally, Nathaniel would never come here if there was nothing, but this time... his complexion didn't look very good.

"Little sister, try not to go out these days."

Natalie frowned slightly, intending to refuse, but seeing Nathaniel's worried expression, she still did not object, "Okay, I understand."

"What's the matter?" Zoe was a little confused.

Nathaniel heard the noise and glanced at her indifferently. She immediately fell silent.

"Then I'll go first."

As soon as Nathaniel left, the room became noisy again.

Zoe patted her chest with lingering fear: "Brother Brooks is getting more and more scary these days."

Natalie smiled lightly, saying nothing.

On the surface, she agreed, but how could she not go out?

She had never been shy.

Night fell.

Natalie answered the phone.

It was a subordinate calling, saying that the company had recently had problems with the books, asking her to meet at a coffee shop.

After speaking, she left.

She hurriedly went out, not driving, just about to raise her hand to call a taxi, when the corner of her eye caught a glimpse of a figure approaching.

Her eyes flashed, she immediately dodged to the side, and the person behind her seemed to know that she had been discovered, so she hurriedly ran away.

Natalie frowned, cursed in a low voice, and ran to a crowded place.

The other party had already approached, and a cold light flashed past. She didn't have time to think, just as she was about to dodge to the side, a figure suddenly rushed over.

"Bang," a sound, the dagger fell to the ground.

When the guest knew that the plan had failed, he turned and ran away.

"Are you okay?" Samuel turned around, looking at Natalie worriedly.

Seeing him, she was slightly startled, then returned to her indifferent expression, "It's okay."

"Who was that just now?" Samuel frowned.

"I don't know."

She replied coldly. Samuel choked.

Instead, he remembered that Natalie was now the little princess of the Brooks family, and would definitely attract a lot of enemies, even if it wasn't hers, it could be Nathaniel or others in the Brooks family.

"Don't you have bodyguards by your side? You're in a different situation now." The man looked at her seriously.

Natalie glanced at him with a complicated expression, but her voice was still cold and distant: "This has nothing to do with Mr. Samuel, right? Mr. Samuel doesn't need to worry about my safety."

His good intentions were rejected, and his face suddenly sank.

"You saved me today, let's call it even, we don't owe anyone anything."

"What?" Samuel frowned, "What?"

However, Natalie had lost interest in talking and left.

"Natalie." His voice rang out from behind.

But she didn't stop for a moment, but walked straight out of his sight.

He was left alone, looking at her back, bewildered.

Even?

Could it be...

A daring thought formed in the depths of his heart, and it surged into his mind as soon as it took root. Could it be that Natalie saved him seven years ago?

As soon as that thought appeared, Samuel's black eyes suddenly sank.

No way, if it was her, why didn't she say it?

But what she just said, although vague, seemed to have some hidden meaning.

Samuel felt like something mysterious was gradually being revealed, and the truth that followed seemed to be the truth he had been waiting for.

Let's talk about Natalie.

When she returned to the apartment, Nathaniel was already in the house, and he immediately stood up when she heard the door open.

"Natalie."

She replied, raising her head to look at her brother's worried black eyes, her heart softened a little.

"Brother, I'm fine."

Nathaniel looked at her with a thoughtful expression, wanting to scold her but not having the heart to, "Didn't I tell you not to go out early?"

Natalie pouted, "Brother, it's not like you don't know me, so how can you stop me from going out?"

"You..." Nathaniel sighed, feeling a little helpless. She walked over, gently hugged her brother, and whispered, "Don't worry, I'm not a child anymore, nor am I helpless, don't worry about me too much."
