After receiving a call from home, Natalie immediately grabbed her coat and ran downstairs, parked her Ferrari in front of the door, and went to her parents' house.
"Dad, Mom."
As soon as she entered the door, Natalie saw her parents, whom she hadn't seen for a long time. The thoughts that had been pent up for so long suddenly surged like a flood. She rushed into her mother's arms, smelled the familiar scent, and refused to let go.
Their family's assets had long been handed over to Nathaniel. Since Natalie insisted on marrying Morgan Samuel, Mr. Brooks and Mrs. Brooks couldn't help but wonder whether Natalie would live well in the Morgan family. The son was afraid that thinking too much would affect their health, so he arranged a trip around the world, allowing the two elders to travel around the world to relax.
They were in a foreign country, and when they heard that Natalie was divorced, they immediately postponed their next travel plans and returned to see their daughter.
Natalie's eyelashes were filled with tears, and she curled up in her mother's warm embrace. Suddenly, all the grievances rushed back into her heart, and tears kept falling, wetting her mother's cheongsam.
"Natalie, don't cry, don't cry, I'm here." Mrs. Brooks hugged her daughter, heartbrokenly stroking her back, her eyes slightly stinging.
She really wanted to ask Natalie how she had been these past years, but she swallowed all these words; her daughter had just divorced, and she didn't want to remind her of her sadness.
"I'm fine, Mom." Natalie gently wiped the tears from her face, sniffling, but couldn't hide her nasal voice: "I just miss you so much."
Natalie blushed slightly. She was over 20 years old, but she was still crying in front of her parents. If her eldest brother and everyone else knew, they would definitely laugh at her.
She didn't know what was wrong with her; she had practiced controlling her emotions since early in the morning, but when she saw her parents, she broke her defenses.
Seeing the forced smile on her daughter's face, Mrs. Brooks's eyes were red, afraid of crying, she had to cover her nose and turn her head away. Her daughter had suffered too much injustice; she couldn't let Natalie worry about herself anymore.
"Natalie, you can't be biased, you only see your mother, don't you see your father?" Mr. Brooks joked as he watched his mother and daughter about to hug and cry.
Natalie knew her father didn't want her to be sad, so she hugged her mother tighter, smiling: "Who made my mother so beautiful? I can't bear to look away when I see my mother. This is called natural beauty; it's useless for you to be jealous."
The laughter of the three people echoed throughout the old house.
"Your little mouth can make me happy." Mrs. Brooks stretched out her finger and lightly scratched Natalie's upturned nose, clearly pleased with her daughter's flattery.
After being pampered by her parents for a while, Natalie reluctantly let go.
"You came back so early, and the rice hasn't cooked yet. Hallie is busy inside," Mrs. Brooks said as she walked into the kitchen. "I'll cook for myself today and make your favorite braised pork ribs."
Only then did Natalie realize that her mother was wearing an apron, so she followed her mother: "Mom, you're so kind, I'll help you."
She said she would help, but in fact, with Hallie's help, she was almost powerless to intervene. She just wandered around the kitchen, trying one dish after another. If Mrs. Brooks hadn't been talking to her, she would have been full.
"Your second brother called and said he would be back later. Your third brother doesn't know where he is; he didn't even call home. Was he away all day?"
Mrs. Brooks was the one who worried about Henry the most. Since childhood, whenever anyone in the family had an accident, she would definitely be the first to think of Henry.
"No." Natalie swallowed the mango in her mouth, shook her head, then rolled her eyes, thinking happily that her third brother would definitely not have any good fruit when he returned because she had eaten it all.
"No matter how vicious the third brother is, he is not a coward. With the eldest brother here, in front of the eldest brother, he is like a mouse meeting a cat, and even more obedient than a rabbit."
When Henry returned, he heard his mother and sister mentioning him. He stood at the kitchen door, his ears perked up, listening for a long time.
"Who is the cat? Who is the mouse? Mom, I flew back here just to hear you badmouth me." He rolled his eyes. He was handsome, tall, and everyone loved him. How did the Third Young Master of the Brooks family become a mouse in the eyes of his mother and sister?
"Then tell me, we didn't tell you, who told you to come back?"
Natalie wasn't afraid of him at all, enjoying the delicious food her mother made with a look of delight, completely ignoring his threats.
Henry suddenly felt guilty; he answered his brother's phone call and went home without saying hello.
Mrs. Brooks turned around and glared at him: "Am I old?"
Henry's head was full of black spots. Well, he couldn't offend these two people.
He immediately walked over and rubbed his mother's shoulder. The mother, who was provoked by him, cried and tried to comfort her.
"You're not old, that's my mouth. You are not my foster mother, you are my biological mother, that is... my younger sister."
Natalie spat out a mouthful of water; fortunately, she turned around in time so the water did not splash on the vegetables. She really admired her third brother; his face was so thick that no one could compare.
When Nathaniel came home from work, the meal was ready.
The family of five sat down, and Mrs. Brooks looked at the three children with a look of relief.
Mr. Brooks said, "It's been a long time since our family has gathered for dinner. You are all grown up and have your own things to do. I'm very happy. If you could come home and eat with us every day, I would be much happier."
He looked at Henry with a meaningful look. The boy was so scared that he stood up straight.
Mrs. Brooks sat down to the side, the smile on her lips still not disappearing. It was great that her daughter was by her side.
"It's a pity that Gabriel is in a closed training period, and Charlie can't come back because he's filming at the studio; otherwise, our family would really be reunited." Mrs. Brooks felt a little regretful, but now she was very happy.
Natalie also missed her second brother and fourth brother, Gabriel. She pulled her mother's hand back, holding it tightly: "Brother Gabriel has worked so hard, you must be very happy. Besides, the second brother will be back in a few days; by then, our whole family will be reunited."
"So when I was away, you missed me so much." A familiar voice rang out, and all eyes turned to the door.
Charlie stood at the door, his appearance dusty, a smile on his face, cold.
"Second brother," Natalie exclaimed, stood up, and threw herself into Charlie's arms. She must be very happy today.
Charlie gently patted her head. He had wanted to come back to see her for a long time, but there was no way to escape from the film crew. So, he discussed it privately with the director, hurriedly finished the script, and finally finished ahead of schedule.
Fortunately, he was able to attend this reunion party.
Henry told the servant to carry the second brother's luggage upstairs. Mrs. Brooks took the coat he was taking off and said worriedly, "Filming is tiring, just take a day off and you'll be back. Why are you in such a hurry? It's not safe."
With a reproach on her lips, the smile on his face grew brighter.
