"W–Wait—what's happening?" Orion blurted out in panic. He was so terrified by what was happening to his system that he completely ignored Ember.
[System upgrade complete]
[System has been influenced by the Red Dragon Legacy]
[System re-evaluating...]
[Dragon System has evolved into: Red Dragon Evolution System]
... Then silence.
"... System? System, are you there?" Orion called out anxiously.
There was no response.
A few seconds later—
[Congratulations, Host.]
[The system has been successfully upgraded.]
[Due to the host obtaining the Red Dragon Legacy, the system has evolved into a more powerful form.]
"Ohhh… so that's what happened," Orion muttered. "The system finished upgrading ahead of schedule because of me getting the legacy."
... Wait a minute.
Orion finally realized how much trouble he was in now.
No… god… why am I so stupid?
Ember was sitting calmly on her throne, patiently observing his reaction.
"What happened?" she asked lazily. "Was your imaginary friend getting jealous over our little kiss?"
She clearly took immense pleasure in teasing him.
Orion hesitated. Should he tell her his secret or not?
He still didn't fully trust her—but after seeing how his system had changed because of her legacy, he decided it was better to tell her.
If she was going to train him, hiding something like this could only hinder his growth. She could be far more efficient if she knew the full extent of his powers—and their source.
'She is willing to give me part of her soul, I don't think she will hurt me'
He also considered telling her about his reincarnation. Maybe she knew something useful.
But truthfully, a part of him wanted to say it just to see her reaction—to watch that calm, knowing expression finally crack.
"Well, Ember… I've decided to tell you about my secrets. But first—how do people know their rank?" he asked seriously.
Ember stared at him like he was an idiot.
"Are you stupid or something? You don't even have access to your Power Codex yet?"
Power Codex… is that something like my system?
[Power Codex: A record of one's strength. Every individual born in this world ruled by Goddess Fiona possesses one.
It contains rank, class, skills, and stats.
It cannot perform any functions beyond displaying information.
Comparing it to the System is incorrect.]
Orion froze.
The system sounded… offended.
He was even more shocked to realize the system was now responding on its own—without his command.
That's… amazing.
'Man, I can't wait to explore this upgraded system… '
Ember pouted. She definitely wasn't used to being ignored, and she was annoyed at Orion for doing exactly that.
Still… she found it oddly refreshing.
Every time she encountered someone other than the ancient dragons, they trembled in fear before her. Mortals always did.
But Orion didn't seem to fear her at all.
That alone surprised her. What shocked her even more was the fact that he didn't know who she was. Everyone should know about her… right?
Unless—
One of the other ancient dragons had erased her from mortal memory.
The thought made her furious.
Not because she particularly cared whether mortals remembered her or not—but for reasons she couldn't quite explain, the idea still ignited a burning anger deep within her chest.
"Hey," she snapped. "Don't you know it's rude to space out while someone's talking to you?"
"Oh—sorry. I was just talking to my system," Orion said casually.
"Your… what?" Ember frowned.
"Well, think of it like your Power Codex—but more advanced. Actually… System, can you show yourself to her?"
Ember's eyes lit up like a child's.
She was an ancient being who knew nearly everything about the world—its secrets, flaws, and laws. Witnessing something truly new excited her.
[Yes, Host.]
[The entity known as *********** ******** can now view the system interface.]
Huh… what's up with this name? Is the system showing her real name, but I'm too weak to see it—so all I'm getting are stars?
"This thing… the glowing text floating in front of you—it looks like a Power Codex, but it's not," she muttered excitedly. "What is this?"
It's time.
Orion took a deep breath.
"You know how I didn't recognize you? Or know about the Power Codex… or heroes?"
"Yes," she said bluntly. "I thought you were just stupid."
… This woman.
"No," Orion sighed. "It's because I'm not from this world. I was born in a place called Earth. A world without magic—no skills, no classes, no dragons or monsters. Just humans"
Ember froze.
"But we had science," he continued, nostalgia creeping into his voice. "With it, we could travel space, talk across the world instantly, and do impossible things from home…" His voice trailed off, nostalgia tightening his chest.
Ember felt the greatest shock of her millions-of-years-long existence.
In all her time alive, she had never heard anything so outrageous—another world, completely separate from this one… and people crossing between them.
She had seen so much in her lifetime that she knew everything was possible
But Another world?
It was still too much
"You're kidding me… right?" she said flatly.
"If you don't want to tell me your secret, just say so. You don't have to make up such an absurd lie."
"I'm telling the truth," Orion insisted. "When I died, I was pulled into this world. I woke up in this dungeon—and received the system."
He gestured to it. "My strange skills and early class awakening? All because of this."
Ember fell silent.
She admits his circumstances were strange.
Still… another world?
When she thought about it more carefully, a memory surfaced. Long ago, the ancient dragon of space and time had once joked about something like this.
If that was true… then perhaps it was possible.
"So… what exactly can your system do?" she asked.
"I'm not sure yet. It just evolved because of your legacy."
"We'll discuss it later," she said firmly. "Show me your stats."
Orion nodded, Orion was also excited to see his stats. So much had happened while the system was undergoing its upgrade—he had fought countless monsters in that short span of time and consumed a large number of magic stones.
Come to think of it… I never got the chance to collect those D-rank magic stones from before.
I need to go back there.
"Status… open."
[Status]

Damn… my stats skyrocketed.
Flash Movement ranked up too—that makes sense. It's my main skill, and I've been using the hell out of it.
Orion had no idea what Astral Energy actually did. He planned to ask Ember about it later.
"Hmmm," Ember murmured. "Your stats… exceptional for a beginner. And that class…"
Her eyes narrowed.
"Dragonborn? That's reserved for royal draconic bloodlines. It's terrifying that your system can grant you this class. What… what is this thing, and how could it grant you a class like the gods?"
She looked at him seriously.
"I know quite a bit about your class—but you'll need to show me your skills later."
"Uh… your legacy didn't seem to give me any new skills," Orion said shamelessly.
"You're greedy and impatient," she said, shaking her head.
"What you received was my legacy—a will, a mission, a purpose. Those who inherit a legacy gain everything the original owner left behind… in exchange for completing their final wish. . I haven't yet given you my soul fragment."
"Oh… I think I get it now."
"Now," she said, smiling dangerously, "are you ready to receive my soul? Let me warn you—it will hurt."
This damn sadist…
[New Mission: Fully consume the first fragment of the Red Dragon Soul]
[Reward: ...…
