Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: I'm Back

Three years of travel across the Narrow Sea, though fraught with hardship and danger, yielded substantial points, confirming to Euron that his initial persistence was correct.

The Nine Free Cities, the Dothraki Sea, Slaver's Bay and its three major slave ports—Yunkai, Meereen, and Astapor—Valyria, Qarth, the Basilisk Isles of Sothoryos... Every city, every sea area, every forest provided Euron with significant point rewards, totaling a full 34,000 Points.

Except for Strength, which matched an average adult, all other attributes exceeded normal levels. Being able to defeat numerous Ironborn and mercenaries relied on his high Agility, Water Dancer swordsmanship, and skills in Paper Art and Nitoryu. He had 11 Free Attribute Points but wasn't in a hurry to use them. Self-training could still increase stats, and points would become harder to earn as leveling costs increased. Currently, known methods to earn points were exploring new maps and defeating enemies, meaning no stable source, making attribute points harder to come by later.

The ship slowly sailed into the familiar harbor. The rough outline of the Iron Islands finally pierced the sea mist, entering his vision. After three years, Euron Greyjoy had finally returned. On the dock, a group of figures waited quietly for his docking—his family.

As the ship gently touched the Pyke dock, before the plank was fully set, Euron leaped onto the rough stone shore.

His father, Quellon Greyjoy, stepped forward first. The ruler of the Iron Islands didn't hug his son but pressed a rough, reef-like hand heavily on Euron's shoulder, with force enough to almost crush bone. His deep gaze swept over Euron like a falcon, scrutinizing him from head to toe, as if inspecting a warship returned from weathering storms.

"Taller, and solid," he finally spoke, voice low as distant sea thunder. "The sea wind didn't blow you away; looks like the Drowned God doesn't plan to take you yet." Though words were hard, trembling fingertips betrayed deeper emotion.

Mother Sronsa Greyjoy stepped forward almost simultaneously. unlike her husband, she reached out, gently but firmly cupping Euron's cheeks, forcing him to lower his head slightly. Her fingertips were cold, eyes swimming with tears she fought to hold back. "Let me look at you," her voice trembled, gaze greedily tracing his features. "These eyes have seen too much... My child, you're home." She finally pulled him into a tight embrace, carrying the scent of sea grass and unquestionable motherly love.

His two younger brothers, Victarion and Aeron, tried to maintain seriousness but couldn't help crowding around. Victarion punched Euron's arm lightly, exclaiming, "This arm is almost thicker than my thigh! What do Easterners eat?" Aeron curiously tugged at the exotic sword tassel at his waist, only to be glared back by his brother.

Brother Balon stood shoulder to shoulder with his wife, smiling steadily—or perhaps pretending to be steady.

Balon reached out, clasping Euron's forearm tightly—the Ironborn warrior's sign of recognition. "Welcome home, brother." Concise, but the grip strength and relief in his eyes said everything. His wife, Alannys Harlaw, gently pushed the three children before her. "Go, meet your Uncle Euron."

When he left, Rodrik Greyjoy hadn't been born. Three years later, Balon was a father of three.

The little girl was over a year old, shy, hiding behind her mother's skirt, only poking half a head out. "I'm Asha." Rodrik was bolder, looking up to ask, "Uncle, have you really seen man-eating sea monsters?"

Two boys, Maron and Rodrik, and one girl, Asha.

For a moment, the dock was filled with voices—greetings, exclamations, laughter, and even his mother's suppressed sobs.

Euron stood among his family, feeling his father's unreleased hand on his shoulder, his mother's warm embrace, his brothers' curious tugs, and his nephew's childish questions. These familiar yet strange emotions expressing concern in the most direct way were like countless warm currents impacting the heart defense tempered cold and hard by wind and waves over three years. He took a deep breath of the Iron Islands' unique scent—mixed with sea salt, wet stone, and smoke—and revealed his first truly relaxed smile since returning.

"Don't be afraid! Sea monsters eat people, but they don't eat Ironborn!" He answered the boy's question, but his gaze swept over all his family. "I'm back."
