"You've been watching me in training," she said.
"Every session," he confirmed.
"You looked worried sometimes."
"Raphael pushes you hard," Silas said. "I respect it. It doesn't mean I don't hate watching you struggle."
"I'm getting stronger," Eve said.
"I know," he said. "I can feel it through the bond. Every day there's more of you. More power, more control, more...." He paused. "More you."
Eve pushed his shirt off his shoulders and let it fall. Her hands moved to his chest, tracing the lines of him with a deliberateness that made his breathing deepen.
She looked up at him.
Then she dropped to her knees.
Silas made a quiet sound....not loud, not dramatic, just real. His hand came to rest in her hair immediately, not guiding, just present.
"Eve...."
"Let me," she said simply.
He let her.
