Jake hesitates for a moment—torn between the unknown intruder and the sleeping Felix—but the instinct driving him towards Felix wins out.
He hurries back to the bed, leaning over to gently shake Felix's shoulder.
"Felix," he whispers, voice low with urgency. "Wake up, Felix. *Right now."*
Felix stirs, opening his eyes with a soft groan.
"Jake...?" he murmurs, blinking away the sleep. "What's going on...?"
"Shhh," Jake hushes him, glancing worriedly towards the window. "I need you to listen to me, okay?"
Felix sits up straighter, concern seeping into his half-asleep features.
"What is it? What's wrong?" he whispers.
"I don't know," Jake admits, voice tight. "But someone's down there. Watching us."
Felix's breath hitches—he glances toward the window, then back at Jake.
"Are you sure?"
Jake nods once—sharp and certain.
"And I'm not taking chances."
In one smooth motion, he grabs his phone, slides it into his pocket, then pulls Felix gently but firmly from the bed.
"We're moving. Quietly. To the safe room."
Felix doesn't argue—trusts him completely—even as fear flickers in his eyes.
He nods once.
Jake takes his hand, and they step softly into the dark hallway— just as a *flicker* flashes past the penthouse window below… not wind.
Not an animal.
But something far more dangerous:
**The Alpha has begun to climb.**
***
Jake keeps a firm grip on Felix's hand, guiding him down the dim hallway.
"Don't look back," he murmurs. "Just keep moving."
Felix nods, heart pounding as he focuses on Jake's steps—steady and sure—even as every instinct screams to run.
Then— a soft *thud* from the living room.
Like glass shifting. Metal scraping concrete.
Jake freezes, pulling Felix close against the wall.
"He's inside," Jake breathes—barely audible. "Earlier than expected."
Felix's breath hitches, fingers digging into Jake's arm.
"Jake..."
Jake turns to him—eyes fierce in the dark—and presses a quick kiss to his lips.
"I love you," he whispers. "No matter what happens."
Then,he gently pushes Felix toward the hidden panel at the end of the hall— the safe
"Go," Jake whispers, squeezing Felix's hand in reassurance. "Get in the safe room, *now*."
Felix hesitates, fear warring with trust in his eyes.
"What are you going to do?" he breathes.
Jake offers a weak smile.
"I'm going to make sure he doesn't get past me, and that you stay safe."
Felix swallows hard, but he nods—trusting Jake completely.
"Be careful out there," he murmurs, pressing a kiss to Jake's hand. "You better come back in one piece."
Jake squeezes his hand again—promising without words.
"I will," he breathes. "Go and lock the door. I'll be right behind you."
"No lies," Felix whispers, eyes glistening. "Promise me."
Jake hesitates—just a second—then pulls him into a fierce, desperate kiss.
"I promise," he breathes against his lips. "*Alive or dead, I'm not leaving you.* Now *go*."
Felix stumbles back, heart hammering—and with trembling fingers— slips into the hidden room.
The door seals shut behind him with a soft *hiss*, lights blinking to life inside as Jake turns— fists clenched, jaw set, love and fury burning in his chest—and faces the darkness of the penthouse.
Somewhere deep within it…
footsteps echo on hardwood.
And then—a voice:
**"Where's your little omega now, Jake?"**
Low. Cold. Smug.
Not just an Alpha.
A hunter trained by the Council itself…
and he's come to erase everything they've built.
***
Jake tenses, heart pounding loud in his own ears.
"Show yourself, coward," he calls—voice steady and defiant.
The alpha's laughter echoes in reply—chilling and mocking.
"Oh Jake, Jake, Jake..." he drawls, footsteps moving steadily closer. "Why bother with insults? We both know how this will end."
"You don't know *anything* about me," Jake growls, backing slowly toward the living room, eyes scanning the darkness. "And you don't get to touch what's mine."
The Alpha steps into view—tall, broad-shouldered, face half-hidden by a high collar and shadow.
"That *thing* in your omega's belly?" he says coldly. "It doesn't belong in this world. And neither do you."
Jake bares his teeth—protective instinct flaring like fire.
"Say one more word about them," Jake spits, voice low and dangerous, "*and I'll rip your throat out with my teeth.*"
The Alpha smirks.
"...Cute."
Then— he lunges.
Jake barely dodges the punch thrown his way—moving on instinct, adrenaline pulsing through his veins.
"Going to need to try harder than that," he growls, spinning out of range. "You're not even close to good enough."
The Alpha grits his teeth in annoyance, and the fight truly begins.
The fight is brutal, ruthless.
Jake uses every trick he has—his military experience, training from the army, even a few dirty techniques learned from the acting industry.
But the Alpha is just as dangerous, a storm of fury and skill.
Together, they crash about the penthouse—smashing furniture, shattering walls, fighting like wild animals.
***
"You're *weak*, Jake!" the Alpha snarls, slamming Jake into the kitchen island—stone cracking under the force. "Protecting an omega? A *half-breed* child? That's not strength—that's *degeneracy*!"
Jake spits blood, vision swimming—but he grins.
"Love is power," he growls. "And you'll never understand that."
With a roar, he drives his knee up into the Alpha's ribs—cracking bone—and follows with a brutal elbow to the jaw.
The Alpha staggers back—but doesn't fall.
"*You're delaying the inevitable,*" he hisses, wiping blood from his lip. "*I'm not alone.* The Council sees everything."
Jake's heart clenches—but his voice stays steady.
"Then they'll see you die first."
And before the Alpha can react— Jake charges— fists like fire, mind screaming one thought:
***Felix. Baby. Home.***
This fight isn't just for survival.
It's for their future.
The two alphas clash like lightning and wildfire—brutal and relentless.
Jake is fueled by love and desperation.
The Alpha fights with blind cruelty—a weapon forged in an omega's hell.
Furniture splinters beneath them, walls shatter under each blow, the penthouse falling apart around them as they fight.
But it's not about the building.
It's not about winning.
It's about time.
Each second is a chance for the baby to live.
And Jake will not lose.
***
The fight moves from the kitchen, to the living room, to the bedroom—crumbling all that stands in its way as the two alphas hurl each other about like rag dolls.
Jake's body aches with every blow, breath ragged from exhaustion—but his love, determination, and adrenaline drive him on.
He's losing blood from a cut at his brow, and his left eye is almost swollen shut—but it doesn't matter.
Nothing matters more than ensuring Felix's safety.
***
"You're *done,* Jake," the Alpha sneers, slamming him against the shattered bedroom wall. "Look at you—bleeding, broken. You can't save them."
Jake coughs—blood on his lip—but his eyes blaze.
"I don't have to win," he grins through gritted teeth. "*I just have to last.*"
Somewhere beyond the sealed door—
Felix presses a hand to his stomach, silent tears falling as distant crashes echo through the walls.
He whispers into the panic room's comms:
"*Jake... please... come back...*"
And in that moment,
as if he heard it,
Jake roars— driving upward with every ounce of strength left in him, flipping the Alpha onto his back— and locking both hands around his throat.
"**This family?**" Jake growls, voice raw and shaking with rage. "**You don't get to take it from me!**"
The Alpha claws at Jake's grip—eyes widening in shock.
Because for all his training… he never faced a father protecting what's *his*.
***
"S-stop," the Alpha chokes, fear and anger in his voice. "I'll tell the Council to back off! Just let me go, and everything can go back to normal!"
Jake snarls through gritted teeth.
"Normal? You call hunting us *normal?*"
The Alpha struggles in vain, face red with effort.
"I-it's our job—the council's vision!"
Jake stares down at him—eyes cold as ice.
"*My* vision is clear," he says. "*Protect what's mine.*"
He tightens his grip—fingers like iron—watching the hope in the Alpha's eyes fade.
"Any last words?" he whispers.
The Alpha coughs.
"The Council... will burn this place," he gasps. "They'll take the omega... they'll take the child..."
Jake's expression twists.
"I'll see you in *hell* before I let that happen," he growls.
The Alpha glares.
"This isn't *over*."
With an anguished roar, the Alpha bucks and twists beneath him— and for an instant, Jake's grip slips.
As his weight shifts above, the Alpha throws him off, rolling and pinning him in an instant, hands closing around his throat.
Jake gasps for air, struggling in the Alpha's grip—vision spinning, pulse thundering in his ears…
then...
a familiar voice rips through the chaos:
"LET GO OF MY *HUSBAND!!!*"
Felix.
To be continued....
