The wagon entered the city a few hours later, as we stopped at the palace and dismounted. Knights lead us into the palace towards the grand hall; they didn't have the same disdain as before, or at least know how to hide it now. Our group entered the grand hall. I was with Chad as we stood in front of the throne as the Queen sat down.
"People from another world, I thank you for coming. My world is entering a chaotic period, which is why I summoned you. Monsters have begun to spawn in greater numbers, causing suffering. I summoned you all to help my land." She said.
"Can we go back to our world?" I asked, making her go quiet as I spoke again. "I take it that it's not possible," I said as she nodded and sighed.
"Summoning is random; sending you all back would be random again. It would be impossible to send you back without putting you all at risk, as summoning you here, I had to try at least a few dozen times before people actually were summoned." She said as I nodded my head.
So I take it the spell tries to grab from random worlds in random places, which would explain why she failed so many times. Our bus just got unlucky at being in the right place at the wrong time. "Can I ask if you know what is making the monsters spawn so much?" I brought up the reason why she summoned us.
Chad looked at me and nodded. He was also wondering about the reason for it. The Queen looked at me, then at everyone else, as she spoke. "This would be the sign of the Demon Lords being reborn. The years before they are reborn spur the growth of monsters as the world readies itself for their arrival. But you don't have to worry, every nation summons people during this time, so the odds of you people running into them are low." She explained to us.
I see, so every nation does the summoning. After finding out so many countries are in this world, the odds of Demon Lords becoming a problem are low, at least from what I understand about their system right now. There have to be a few hundred OP motherfuckers out in this world now.
"I plan to enroll you all into the school in the city, so you can get an understanding of the world, along with having a person with the same class as you all to train you." She said, clapping her hands as people walked into the hall and the knights started to speak. "Please tell us your class, and we will guide you to the group that has the same class as you." The Head Knight said.
I took a step back and followed Natalie as she walked over to the priestess group. Watching her talk to the women before stopping a gentle-looking woman in her early thirties. That nun-style outfit didn't hide her body very well; I could see she was just a little smaller than Riptide. But her chest was ample still.
Natalie came back with a smile as she spoke. "I found a nice teacher, she told me to come to the church tomorrow afternoon for my first lesson." She said happily. I smiled at her before speaking.
"You look pleased. I am happy for you." I said as she nodded her head. "I can help you from now on. Why wouldn't I be happy?" She said, hugging my arm as she kissed my cheek. As I kissed her cheek in return, I looked over the group that was summoned, and I could see sadness and depression on their face.
Well, that is understandable. We can't go home, at least from what the Queen knows. There may be a way out there, but I didn't really care. Why would I leave this world? I finally got what I had dreamt about for so long. Why would I want to go home? This place is fun. As I was lost in thought, I watched James and Jason pick their teachers, making me laugh.
James took in a toned, tanned female swordswoman with a set of assets as his teacher. Jason, on the other hand, took in a short rabbit-human female hybrid as his druid teacher. I could tell the rabbit-human female lacked confidence.
I swore I thought Jason was into those Dommy-Mommy types of women. But it looks like James was also, as they looked at me and nodded with a grin on their face, and I thumbs-upped them, and they returned it. They left with their teachers, as a Knight came towards me and spoke.
"The Queen wishes to talk to you, sir." He said, making me look at him and nod as I spoke. "Lead the way." I followed behind him as we reached a door on the side of the grand hall, and he opened it. "Thank you for meeting me, Sir Tom." The Queen said, as I looked at her, I noticed two women standing next to her with crowns.
Those must be her daughters. "What do you desire to speak about, your Majesty?" I asked her. She looked at me and sighed as she spoke. "I think it would be wise to send you away, society here judges stats and class, I could tell them not. But they would make it hard for you when I am not around, so I think you should go to a small village. This way you can help it from monster attacks with your maids. Smaller villages tend to be less judgmental." She said.
I could understand her concerns, as nobility, be it here or back on earth, has always had an ego. Even rich people tend to have the same style as nobles. "If you want me to leave, can you wait till I get a small understanding of this world first, and if you want to pick a place. I think it's best to send me to a village or area that has a lot of monsters, so that we can make use of my power. I would also ask you to supply at least the income that a low-level noble gets yearly from now on." I explained to her as she listened.
She leaned back and thought for a moment as she spoke. "May I ask why you want the income?" She asked me. I smiled before I talked to her.
"I need a home big enough for my summons, and I plus Natalie, who will be going with me, her teacher would probably come along with us. As you have ordered them to teach them, I need a place that can hold a lot of people, along with the money to feed them and me. If I am to be pushed out, it's only fair that I get some kind of backing from you." I said, making her nod as she understood now.
"Very well, I will get the money ready for you and let you use the library in the palace to get the information about the world. Just ask the maids to bring the books you want to your chambers." She said as she stood up.
"Then, for now, I want to know about the power rankings of people in this world and other basic information. If I need more, I will ask them, but can you tell a maid to bring books with that information to my chambers for starters?" She nodded and pulled a piece of paper out, writing down the information as she spoke.
"I can give you three days, anymore than that and people will start to ask about you. I take it you don't want to be drawn into pointless squabbles with nobles." Her words had merit, and I nodded. "That is fine, three days is more than enough for me to get a basic understanding of the world without getting me killed," I said, standing up as a maid walked in.
"Please, guide them to the secluded guest chambers. And have someone retrieve books with this information from the library." She said, speaking to the maid as she handed the paper to her. "Yes, your Majesty." The maid said to the Queen, bowing as she turned to me, before speaking.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please follow me." She said, holding out a hand to signal us, as I stood up with Natalie, as Riptide and Vaelora had been standing behind the couch. As we left the room, one of the women behind the Queen spoke.
"Mother, is it so wise to treat the defective man with so much respect?" Her mother looked at her and glared, making her freeze for a moment. "He may have issues with his stats, and we don't have any knowledge of his class, but his power is worth showing at least the bare minimum of respect and decency unless you can explain how he can summon a Legendary and an A-rank being. His class is unknown, but we can trust his power. I have seen it first hand." The Queen said.
As she leaned back into the chair, she felt the same way her daughter had at the beginning, but this Tom Wilson showed her not to judge him by the standards she was used to. The way he did it made her like him a little; he was cute. More than the people-pleaser called Chad, she was thinking about having a child by the people summoned, if there was one worthy of it.
"I will wait and see how he grows, and the name he makes. I take it his summons will shake this world up." She said, licking her lips as she smirked.
