Chapter 62 - Chapter 62 --Tang San

On the training grounds of Shrek Academy, Tang San and Dai Mubai sparred intensely, their figures weaving back and forth as spirit power rippled across the field. The clash of fists and spirit techniques drew curious gazes from the others, and the entire arena buzzed with energy.

Nearby, Ma Hongjun scratched his head in frustration. No matter how hard he tried, he still couldn't grasp even the basics of the Breathing Technique, Qi Guiding Art, or Condensing Qi Art. Each failure only deepened Flender's irritation.

"Control your spirit power," Flender urged, tone strained but patient. Yet just as Ma Hongjun's spirit power flowed into the meridians, it spiraled out of control, scattering again.

By contrast, Oscar had already mastered the Condensing Qi Art at a pace that surprised everyone. He sat cross-legged at the side, eyes closed in focused meditation.

As for Xiao Wu—although brilliant and talented—she loved playing far too much. Her comprehension of the Qi Guiding Art surpassed Dai Mubai by nearly two days, yet because she rarely settled down to cultivate, she had already fallen behind again in the first-grade method.

Even now, while the others cultivated diligently, she clung to the railing and cheered excitedly for Tang San, carefree and smiling.

A sudden, eerie gust swept across the grounds.

Before anyone could react, a raspy chuckle echoed above them.

"What luck. I didn't expect to meet a transformed hundred-thousand-year Spirit Beast in a place like this."

A black-robed, straw-hatted figure materialized out of thin air and seized the stunned Xiao Wu.

"Let go of Xiao Wu!" Tang San shouted. Without hesitation, he flicked his wrist, sending ten Bone Piercing Nails toward the intruder's vital points.

Tang Xiao raised his hand and unleashed his spirit power. The nails shattered mid-air with a resonant tremor. "Clever," he said indifferently, "but external tools will never surpass true strength."

Flender's spirit erupted as he howled for the teachers. "Who are you, and why are you abducting one of my students?!"

"Are you deaf?" the stranger replied coldly. "This is a transformed hundred-thousand-year Spirit Beast. She is not human."

Everyone froze. Their growing suspicion turned toward Xiao Wu. Seeing her pale face and silence, they realized the intruder wasn't lying.

Flender was shaken, yet he forced himself forward. "Even so—this is Shrek's matter. What is your purpose?"

Tang Xiao lost patience. His spirit pressure burst outward, locking the entire group in place. Words died in their throats as crushing force pinned them down.

"So noisy. You want explanations? Are you qualified?"

Titled Douluo.

Flender and Zhao Wuji went deathly pale. They had faced Tang Hao before—this level of power was unmistakable.

"Let… go… of… Xiao… Wu!" Tang San rasped, bloodshot eyes fixed on Tang Xiao as he stubbornly resisted the pressure.

"This girl is a Spirit Beast," Tang Xiao replied. "Do you intend to fight the entire continent for her?"

"I don't care who she is. She is Xiao Wu."

For the first time, Tang Xiao eased his pressure on Tang San. "Bold words. Yet you keep her close for her ring and Spirit Bone… don't you?"

"I'll never let anyone hurt her."

"Oh?" Tang Xiao's tone turned mocking. "Then I'll give you a fair choice. I take the Spirit Bone; you take the ring— or the other way around. Not generous enough?"

The students looked at each other, stunned. A Titled Douluo offering to share such a treasure… it sounded unreal.

Tang San only repeated, voice steady, "No one is touching Xiao Wu."

Tang Xiao's gaze sharpened. "Then what can you do? She's already in my hands."

After a silent pause, Tang San spoke again. "Senior, since you're willing to bargain, I wish to propose a bet—"

"A bet?" Tang Xiao interrupted, intrigued. "Fine. Since you claim not to covet her ring or Spirit Bone, let that be the wager. If you willingly sever your right arm, I'll acknowledge your sincerity."

Xiao Wu panicked. "San Ge, don't—"

Tang Xiao sealed her acupoints before she could finish. "If you sacrifice yourself, I kill him first."

She collapsed, powerless.

"Choose," Tang Xiao continued calmly. "Lose your arm—she lives. Refuse—she dies, and you may take one of her treasures afterward."

Tang San trembled, staring at his right arm… then at Xiao Wu.

Flender forced out, "Sir, Tang San's father is—"

"I don't care," Tang Xiao snapped. "Speak again, and I silence you permanently."

No one dared breathe.

Tang Xiao's voice grew colder. "A woman can be replaced. A hundred-thousand-year ring cannot. Ten seconds."

Spirit power surged. Tang San's memories surged faster—every promise, every moment with Xiao Wu. His grip tightened on the dagger.

He slashed—

Clang!

Tang Xiao intercepted the blade mid-strike and cast it aside. His expression softened.

"Good child. Stronger than your father."

Tang San blinked, confused.

Tang Xiao dispelled his disguise, released Xiao Wu, and revealed the Clear Sky Hammer. "Don't be afraid. I am Tang Xiao—your eldest uncle."

Relief washed through the field as Tang San bowed cautiously. "Little San greets Eldest Uncle."

Tang Xiao set a flowerpot gently before them. "And this… is your mother."

Only after Tang Xiao explained everything—and the recording stone confirmed the truth—did Tang San reluctantly accept it.

The weight of his father's actions crushed him. Everything he believed about loyalty and duty wavered.

Tang Xiao sighed. "Enough. Come back to the Clear Sky Sect. With Sect resources, your future will be limitless."

Flender grew tense. "Little San can grow here too—our students are—"

Tang Xiao nodded, then added calmly, "They could have been greater."

He spoke of the Sacrificial Shop, of unseen geniuses, of competitions and resources, and of looming change. Tang San hesitated. He still wished to test the Training Ground… and he harbored dreams of founding Tang Sect one day.

"I want to see for myself first," Tang San said quietly.

Tang Xiao held his gaze, then smiled faintly. "Very well. I'll wait."
