Otto was dreaming.
He dreamed that he was surrounded by countless zombie Kianas, who all started biting him.
No, I can't hold on much longer.
Otto's body shuddered violently. He snapped his eyes open and glanced at the television, which was still playing the zombie movie.
Damn it, how did this unlucky kid set it to loop?
This grudge... I'll remember it!
A headache pulsed in Otto's temples.
Just then, he heard the sound of soft breathing coming from his abdomen. He looked down and saw the little ball of white hair lying on the sofa, her head resting on his lap as she slept.
And he, Otto, had fallen asleep sitting right there on the couch last night.
Honestly.
Otto gazed at Kiana's adorable sleeping face. He picked up the remote and turned off the TV, then lowered his head.
"Chu~"
Otto kissed Kiana on the lips.
This wasn't the first time; he had already kissed her twice before.
Their lips touched and parted in an instant. Otto kept his head low, looking at the still-sleeping Kiana. With her eyes closed, she looked just like an angel.
Chu x5.
Otto enacted his revenge on the spot, getting her back sixfold.
After the kisses, Otto picked up his phone. It was already seven in the morning, and there was a new message on the screen.
[I've arrived.]
The message was brief, but a smile spread across Otto's face as he read it.
Right now, he felt a profound sense of security.
Originally, Otto had come to Nagazora not only for Raiden Mei but also to more quickly adapt to his identity as the Overseer of Schicksal.
But the appearance of the Will of the Honkai had slightly disrupted his rhythm, so he had sought help from within Schicksal.
Help from a certain flatboard specialist with experience in dealing with the Will of the Honkai.
As long as she was on his side, he felt incredibly safe.
"Wakey, wakey." Otto gently patted Kiana, shaking her body. "Don't you have plans with someone today?"
Otto remembered that Kiana had been invited to hang out with Asakura Miyuki, so he was waking her up to make sure she didn't break her promise.
Otto disliked breaking promises, because if he broke his, then others could break their promises to him.
He didn't want Kiana to become someone who couldn't keep her word.
"Nnngh..."
Shaken awake by Otto, Kiana curled up slightly, nuzzling against his stomach like a little kitten. After a few rubs, she opened her eyes.
She sensed that this wasn't her pillow.
Otto's Soul Steel body was hard as a rock.
Her sleepiness vanished, replaced by a glint of vigilance in her eyes. Having lived alone for so long, alertness was one thing she never lacked.
However, when she realized it was Otto, the wariness in her eyes dissipated, and she lay back down on his lap.
"Nooo... I wanna sleep a little longer."
Kiana yawned, shrinking into a smaller ball before covering her nose and letting out a cute sneeze.
It seemed she had gotten a little cold.
After all, she had slept the entire night in such light clothing.
Otto could only sigh. He took off his shirt and draped it over Kiana's waist.
Kiana didn't open her eyes, instead pulling the shirt up to her shoulders. But Otto pulled it back down to her waist.
"Your stomach will get cold easily," Otto said, sounding a little helpless.
Hearing his words, Kiana stopped trying to pull the shirt up again.
"You can only sleep a little longer, or you'll run out of time."
"Sigh, honestly, I feel like I'm becoming your mother." Otto said.
"If my future kid is as disobedient as you, I'll have to scrap them and start over."
Kiana just snorted twice through her nose.
"Hmph, hmph~"
"Go ahead. It's not like I want a male mo...m..."
Kiana's voice trailed off. Otto didn't speak either. He looked down at her and placed a hand on her head, stroking her hair gently.
Feeling Otto's touch, Kiana lightly clutched the hem of his clothes.
She... had never met her mother.
Otto's hand continued its gentle motion. For some reason, Kiana felt a trace of warmth.
It was as if... it was really her mother stroking her hair.
About half an hour later, Kiana finally got up for real. Otto put his shirt back on while Kiana, after tying her pigtails, grabbed her casual clothes and headed for the shower to change.
"Put on your White Comet battlesuit. I'll feel more at ease that way."
Otto's instruction made Kiana pause. She thought for a moment, put down her casual clothes, and took the White Comet suit into the shower room instead.
Otto's reason was simple. The situation in Nagazora City was currently unclear, and Kiana would be safer wearing her battlesuit.
Once she was fully dressed, Otto and Kiana stood at the front door.
"If anything happens, you have to call me."
Otto watched Kiana bend over in the entryway to put on her shoes. He had to admit, the curve of her waist and hips was truly enticing. After tying her shoes, Kiana turned and gave Otto a playful salute.
"I'm heading out now!"
"Wait." Otto stopped Kiana just as she was about to push the door open. Her hand resting on the handle, she looked back at him, puzzled.
"In the Far East, wives who stay at home always give their departing husbands a kiss."

Otto opened his arms to Kiana, who just laughed, exasperated.
"What's that about? No way. Besides, aren't the genders reversed?"
She shook her head, so Otto tried a different approach.
"Then let me pat your head again, like a parent sending their child off."
"Patting my head will stunt my growth." Despite her words, Kiana walked back over to Otto. He raised his hand, placed it on her head, and ruffled the ball of white fluff.
"Be safe on your way."
"Mhm."
Kiana hummed in agreement, pushed the door open, and left.
Otto remained standing in the room, his eyes fixed on the closed door. He stood there, motionless.
After waiting for about ten minutes, he estimated that Kiana should be long gone. He then casually opened his door.
He stepped out, closing it gently behind him without making a sound.
Then, he went to the room next door.
The girl inside there was the real main event for today.
Though, this whole thing makes me feel like a thief. Perhaps this is the inconvenience of having two wives.
