Chapter 65 - Chapter 64 This Christmas, Murder!

Hawk had never before felt time move so slowly.

But he felt it now.

Christmas holidays, because the Children's Home had some caring staff who gave out cheap small gifts every Christmas Eve, his sister Anya really liked Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Hawk also grew to like it.

But ever since his sister Anya left on September 10, 2009, on Christmas Eve that year, he secretly snuck into the cemetery to spend it with Anya.

Since then, he no longer liked Christmas.

Not only did he not like it, he even found the holiday very noisy.

But this year, Hawk was incredibly looking forward to the arrival of the Christmas holidays.

But that's how time is.

The more you focus on it, the slower time goes, and only when you don't focus on it, you suddenly find that time is gone in a flash.

So after Hawk realized this, he forced himself to stop focusing on time and maintained his previous rhythm of life.

Finally!

The week before Christmas, Midtown High School finally announced its holiday break.

Hawk went home with Gwen.

He was originally eager to rush to New Jersey that very day to stake out Hulk, but Gwen's mother extended such a warm invitation that he couldn't find a reason to refuse.

However, when Hawk and Gwen returned to the Gorin apartment, George hadn't returned yet, so Hawk followed Gwen temporarily back to the second-floor bedroom.

Hawk was already familiar with Gwen's bedroom.

After entering the room, Hawk naturally sat on the edge of the bed, while Gwen pulled over her study chair and sat down, talking on the phone with Mary, who had just answered.

After a while.

Gwen smiled as she ended her call with Mary, then put her phone aside, sitting sideways on her study chair and saying to Hawk, "Mary asked if we had any plans for the Christmas holiday. Maybe the four of us could team up."

Hawk raised an eyebrow.

"Four?"

"She and Peter."

"Well, I'll be."

Hawk was first stunned, then laughed, "When did that happen?"

Gwen's face was serious as she gossiped with Hawk, "You absolutely won't believe it, it was today, after attending Norman Osborn's funeral, and you probably wouldn't guess, Mary was the one who confessed first."

Hawk's expression was somewhat surprised.

"Really? No way?"

"Didn't expect that, did you?"

"Indeed."

Hawk subconsciously nodded.

He really hadn't expected Peter to not reject Mary's confession in this life.

However…

Hawk thought of Peter knocking on his window last Sunday night, then coming in to tell him that he had killed his best friend's father.

Yes.

Just like in the original plot, the old Green Goblin, Norman Osborn, still died.

The way he died was also the same: he died on his own Green Goblin Glider after Peter had already spared him, but he tried to counter-attack and failed.

However, one thing was different from the original plot.

In the original plot, after Peter placed the old Green Goblin's body back, he was caught by Harry and went home alone.

But here, Peter was not caught by Harry, but after the incident, he turned around and came to Hawk's house to recount the story.

Hawk was helpless.

He had just returned from a field trip to New Jersey that day and really wanted a good night's sleep. He originally wanted to send Peter away, but seeing Peter's somewhat distraught expression due to guilt over his best friend's father's death, he thought about it and simply acted as a loyal listener, listening to Peter's confession while drinking cola and comforting Peter.

As a result…

With this comfort, the butterfly effect appeared.

Peter actually didn't reject the confession of the goddess in his heart, but accepted it?

Well, I'll be.

Hawk exclaimed inwardly, "Well, I'll be."

But…

Hawk smiled and said to Gwen, "That's good. Peter really likes Mary Jane."

"Mary always knew, but Peter…" Gwen frowned at this point, then seemed to think of something, looking at Hawk: "Just like someone else, clearly cares, but pretends not to."

Hawk met Gwen's seemingly speaking eyes.

Gwen's lips curved upwards.

"Am I wrong?"

"No."

Hawk shook his head.

Gwen smiled, then blinked, looking at Hawk and asking, "So you admit you had feelings for me since you first started school, Mr. Hawk?"

Hawk smiled, then looked at Gwen.

"Yes."

"As expected."

Gwen got the answer she wanted, and the smile on her face grew brighter. Then she tilted her head slightly, leaning back in her study chair and looking at Hawk: "Because I feel the same way."

She could understand why Peter had feelings for Mary, but had been hesitant to act before.

Because she had experienced it.

Gwen's lips curved upwards.

"I'm certain Peter is Spider-Man now."

"Because if Peter wasn't, then he definitely wouldn't have the courage to be with Mary."

"Right?"

"…"

Hawk looked at Gwen, who was once again confirming Peter's identity as Spider-Woman, and smiled, giving the same answer: "Again, I don't admit it, nor do I deny it, unless he wants to reveal his identity himself."

Gwen shrugged: "Whatever, anyway, Peter is with Mary now, Mary will know sooner or later, and Mary will definitely tell me."

Mary was so gossipy, once she knew, she might not share it with others, but she would definitely share it with herself.

Gwen thought to herself, then remembered Mary's question on the phone just now.

"Oh, right, you still haven't said, should we reply to them?"

"What?"

"Twenty-one days of vacation, should the four of us team up and find a place to play?"

Gwen said, then looked at Hawk with an expectant gaze.

She thought Mary's suggestion was quite good.

Couples traveling together.

It seemed pretty good.

Hawk didn't reply immediately, but frowned slightly.

Gwen saw his expression.

"What's wrong?"

"I can't be sure yet."

Hawk thought for a moment, then smiled apologetically at Gwen, "This holiday, I have something to do, but I haven't confirmed which day it will be yet."

Gwen blinked.

"Something to do?"

"Yes."

"…"

Gwen watched Hawk nod, tilted her head, and looked at Hawk: "If I ask you what you're going to do, will you tell me?"

Hawk listened to Gwen's words and looked at Gwen.

Gwen looked at him without blinking.

Their eyes met.

Hawk's thoughts raced, then he chuckled and nodded: "If you ask me, I will tell you."

Gwen nodded when she heard this.

The next second.

She looked at Hawk with determination: "Alright then, I want to know, Hawk."

Hawk met Gwen's gaze and fell silent.

After a while.

He uttered two words from his mouth.

"Murder!"

"…"
